A fencing doublet made of a padded linen based on an exhibit from around 1580 in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The outfit consists of breeches and a padded doublet, which are joined by laces in the waist inside the garments. This fastening was very important so that the doublets did not pull up and the breeches did not sag. The doublet was originally a military garment and was worn by men, under the armor, but also as a camp outfit. A jacket with wings on the shoulders is fastened with hand-made buttons at the front and on the cuffs of the sleeves. This cushioning jacket is made for light sparring. Doublets are made of several layers of light materials. Garment layers: 1. Cover material - strong linen or cotton. 2. Strong cotton reinforcement. 3. Soft inner fabric layer. The padding is thicker on the shoulders and upper back. 4. Linen lining. Men's breeches from delicate wool or linen- baggy, renaissance knee-length trousers that can be adjusted above or below the knees. The trousers are richly gathered at the waist and knees. The pockets are located in the high side seam of the pants. Belt loops provide additional adjustability. The long button-fastening at the front. French seams, additionally reinforced. If you need some extra protection and modification to your jacket, please don't hesitate to tell me. I am always happy to fulfill such requests! Just contact me by email and let me know! Available upon request. The price includes machine sewing to your dimensions and hand-finishing for an authentic look. Choose the color of your clothes yourself.
