Interesting article on the Hadzabe, the ‘last functioning hunter-gatherers in Africa’. There’s not many people left on this planet for whom the bow is still an essential tool of survival. Only a few thousand years ago, every bow on Earth was exactly that. Read it here: http://kwekudee-tripdownmemorylane.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/hadzabe-tribe-last-archers-of-africa.html

Primitive bow made of hickory with sinew and rawhide backing. Similar to what indigenous people hunted with, and provided food to their families with. This bow is 48” long and is to be drawn no more than 23” max where it generates 43 pounds of pull weight. Ideal for target practice, or hunting small and medium game. Some folks who are used to traditional archery find the drawlengths of primitive bows somewhat short, but this is accurate to the way Indigenous people shot and hunted. After learning to “shoot to the bow” you can become very proficient. The artwork is one of a kind comes from what that speak to me when i paint. I do not offer a warranty on my bows because I can not control what a person does to them once they are out of my possession. However my name goes out with each one and I won’t sell anything I don’t trust 100%. Treat it right and it will treat you right. Also it is up to the buyer to learn and understand how to safely and properly “string up” and use a primitive bow. It will be shipped in the unstrung (unbraced)position. Arrows are NOT included, but may be available at an extra charge when and if I have them on hand. Shipping to the continental US only, this is a flat fee of $50 and includes insurance and comes in a PVC tube with caps, the only safe way to ship a bow so that the shipping company will not break it...you can also re-use this tube as a storage case and to safely transport of your new bow.
