I originally thought that this was a blue and yellow macaw, which are very common. But my friend Neal identified it as a "Blue-throated macaw" (Ara glaucogularis) and is listed as critically endangered. This one was part of the large flock of macaws that came in to a post in the park, hung out for about five minutes, and then flew back to their home 2+ miles away. This macaw was a straggler and only flew a few hundred yards and just hung around watching the people.
