I am taking the idea of silk aquatint printing as a starting point. But I am changing the scale and nature of the technique to make it big and rough, as though magnified many times.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK This is one in a series of eight portraits of real people and symbolic people from populations at risk whose lives have been ruined by deliberate acts of violence using acid. Nitric acid is used in etchings, presumably to create works of beauty. Here I have used the acid both literally and figuratively.
