L'aquarelle est un medium de rêve. Elle se présente transparente, fluide, nuageuse, vaporeuse, et parfois intense. En art journaling on l'utilise souvent pour créer des fonds. On tente aussi de créer l'effet aquarelle avec plusieurs médiums comme les encres et la peintre diluée. Peu importe la technique utilisée on aura toujours un résultat intéressant à mon avis. Since I am doing some watercolour painting I did some experiments to see how the pigment can be manipulated to create effects which could be used in the creation of an image. It was interesting to see how the pigment moved when the methylated spirit was dripped onto it. This could be used to create some interesting bubble effects. As well as dripping the methylated spirits you can also paint it on with a round brush. The salt on wet paint created some beautiful delicate effects.

Students in third grade learned about the artist David Hockney. We focused especially on his California influenced pool paintings from the 60's and 70's. I saw a similar project on the blog "Kids Artists". The students were focusing on line, shape, and color while working on these. We also spent a good bit of time thinking about how our hair and body look different when submerged under water. The kids loved creating the look of weightlessness in their self portrait. Hockney used interesting techniques to create the effect of light shining in on the water of his pool paintings and we tried to recreate that. I love how they all look so much like the child that made them. Great job third graders!
