This costume is made of The Best quality HAND WOVEN !!! fabric . Fully historically accurate. Full handmade with love :) Choose your color - make an order - wear eye-cathing historical costume !!! --------------------------------------- The Viking woman's apron dress, also known as a "hangerock," was a fundamental piece of clothing in Viking-era women's attire. Here's a description: The apron dress was a sleeveless, usually woolen garment worn by Viking women. It consisted of two main parts: a front panel and straps or loops over the shoulders. The dress was typically worn over a linen underdress or a long-sleeved tunic. The straps were fastened at the front with brooches or pins, and the dress often had a pleated or gathered waist for comfort and flexibility. These dresses were commonly made in solid colors, though some archaeological findings suggest that they might have been decorated with embroidery or trim along the edges. The apron dress varied in length, with some reaching the ankles while others were shorter, depending on regional styles and personal preferences. The versatility of the apron dress made it a practical and essential garment for Viking women, allowing for ease of movement during daily activities while also reflecting the wearer's status and personal style. ---------------------------------------- About Fabric: Wool Thin Diamond, fabric that effortlessly combines elegance with functionality. Crafted with meticulous precision, Wool Thin Diamond strikes the perfect balance between warmth and breathability. The lightness of the material and the weave in rhombuses make the wool fit perfectly and at the same time it is very soft and pleasant to the skin. Diamond-woven wool fits many historical periods: it works great as a material for tunics and dresses, but also looks beautiful as an element of home decor, as covers for pillows or bedspreads. Wool Thin Diamond is 100% merino wool. Attention! The attached photos are temporary - we are in the process of taking a photo session of the fabric. Lightweight wool that will look great? Choose wool with a diamond weave – the weave is visible from a distance, which creates an undeniably amazing effect. Herringbone weave, on the other hand, is much calmer and still very effective. Our wool thin diamond and herringbone is the perfect choice not only for historical reenactment, but also for everyday clothes in a modern cut! What is the difference between a herringbone weave and a diamond weave? Diamond weave and herringbone weave may seem very similar, and they are. Herringbone is half a diamond. The herringbone weave is based on a diagonal offset, which then returns. However, in the case of a diamond, after the pattern splits, it returns again, creating a pattern closed on both sides. Wool thin diamond and herringbone - hand wowen wool Wool thin diamond or herringbone is made from 100% pure new wool and is woven in a diamond or herringbone pattern for extra softness and comfort. The fabric is breathable and warm, yet lightweight to wear. It has just enough stretch to keep its shape and can be worn all year round. The texture of this fabric gives it a very soft feel which makes it perfect for wearing against your skin. In addition, it is hand-woven, which gives it an extra character, especially if you want to buy high-quality fabrics for historical reenactment. Handwoven wool - what does it mean and how it is done? Handwoven wool is a special type of fabric, which is made by hand. It is a very labor-intensive process, so it's not surprising that it costs more than machine-made fabrics. In order to understand the difference between handwoven wool and machine-made garments, you need to know how this type of fabric is made. Handwoven fabrics are made from single threads that have been twisted together to form a yarn. The yarns are then woven into cloth on a loom or frame. The weaving can be done with many different methods. The different types of weaves affect the appearance of the final product quite drastically. The manual weaving process also means that there may be weaving errors when making them. What are they about? Usually it's a mistake in the thread, which may result in a slight shift in the pattern. From a distance, it is imperceptible, so it is not a problem when sewing clothes, because even when in contact with another person, there is little chance that he will notice such a mistake.

Perfect for your period wardrobe, appropriate for the dates 1740-1760's, and then also worn for the 1770's when the style is revived and popular again. The cap is a half moon shaped style, with gathered outer trim. These Caps are made from fine scallop embroidered edge net lace (These caps match our lace edged Kerchief!) WHITE or IVORY, choose from drop-down menu when ordering. This is a poly net-with cotton blend threads. 100% cotton nets are now hard to find-but these give the best appearance and closest to the cotton netting of the past. Cotton netting was a popular and commonly used lace in the 18th century, and is lovely and easy to care for! Caps such as these were know as a “Pinner” as the style has no drawstring, it simply sits on the head and is secured with a pin (or modern bobby pins if you choose) at the top. This cap is shown here worn over a period wig, but also looks great over simpler hair styles. A good style for middling class interpretations, or for any venue where you need a period cap that is pretty & flattering. Steampunk Wedding Dress - Fairytale, Victorian, Edwardian, Adventurer, Explorer, Clockwork, Airship, Pirate wench. Includes bustle skirt, steel boned tightlacing corset, jacket and top hat. Simply devine ! An absolutely STUNNING bridal outfit. PERFECT for any bride marrying her prince charming in a Steampunk, fantasy, historic or romantic styled occasion! This is truly a one-of-a-kind complete ensemble, which includes: * Hand made victorian walking underskirt * Hand made victorian bustle overskirt * Hand customised steel boned corset * Hand made bolero jacket * Hand made mini top hat The full outfit can be made to most standard US/UK sizes, which we can determine through your personal measurements. Absolutely PERFECT for any blushing bride wanting a Steampunk or Victorian themed wedding, or any bride who's simply looking for a pure fantasy outfit for their wedding day! Walking Underskirt The underskirt will be made using historic patterns, made from fabrics and colours of your choosing, to match the theme and colour scheme of your wedding. The train can be amended in length as desired. (Please note that the skirt in the listing is a modern equivalent of the historic styled item you will received, of which you have options of the 'fullness' of the skirt - please see my outline below). If you prefer a more 'slender' skirt, I can offer alternative patterns for your to consider, at no extra cost. Bustled Overskirt The bustle overskirt is made using historically accurate techniques, including ties and gathers for a gorgeous, full bridal bustle. This technique allows for flexibility of the gathering of the bustle back, so you can tie looser for a less 'puffy' longer bustle if you prefer. Again, fabrics and trimmings can be selected to suit your requirements. The listed price includes the 'apron' of the skirt (the swag at the front) to be trimmed, but for an additional cost (depending on chosen trimmings) the entire overskirt can be trimmed as you wish. For brides who want a 'fuller' look to the skirt, I can add additional bustling as required. I can add a bustle pad for an additional cost of £20/$32 which will also create volume to the bustle. Bolero Jacket The bolero jacket is also hand made, using a customised jacket pattern, to ensure only the shoulders are covered, leaving plenty of space to the decollete, for any stunning heirloom or vintage jewellery the bride may choose to wear. The jacket shown uses a tiny 'capped sleeve, however sleeve lengths and necklines can be adjusted as required, for an agreed additional cost. As with the walking skirt and bustle, fabrics and trimmings will be selected as required. Corset Please note, that the corset in the picture, was hand made by myself as an example, to match the fabrics I chose for that particular bustle and bolero. However, this listing is to include a pre-made corset from a large choice of quality steel boned corsets, in a colour to compliment your chosen colour scheme from a wide range of colours and materials. I will then trim the corset fully by hand, to compliment the complete ensemble. Corsets will be selected by waist measurement provided and the waist reduction you request (typically a reduction of 4" is average). You can choose your corset to compliment your chosen fabrics, so will be discussed throughout the planning process. I prefer not to limit the fabric ranges for brides, as everybody has their own requirements, however I do allow a monetary value for fabrics. If the fabric you choose is above this budget, I am happy to renegotiate the price to incorporate your chosen fabric. I typically use silks in my gowns, so my price tends to cover most requirements!! The listed price includes a contrasting bias edging trim and lace detail, however, corset trimmings like everything else are negotiable, and can include different edgings, trims, beads, lace, appliques and embellishments to suit your tastes. The corsets I use are made using flat steel bones (which can be replaced with spiral steel if you prefer for an additional fee to be agreed, depending on size and style), and constructed using 4 layers of fabric for strength. For an additional price, I am happy to make a custom made corset for you. The price will be dependant on requirements (eg, underbust/overbust corset) and will be discussed during the custom order planning. Mini Top Hat The mini topper will also be hand made from scratch, using milliners quality buckram, then covered with fabric of your choosing. The brim edge, hat band and trimmings will again be to your liking. This particular hat design measures 4" in height, but I offer smaller and larger sizes to suit. A veil can be added for an small additional cost (depending on requirements) and if you prefer, I can create a fascinator for you, for a small reduction in cost as you prefer. What's Not Included Please be aware, that the corset in the picture is NOT included, but as per outlined above, you will have a choice of a large number of corsets from a leading corset seller. There are no petticoats included in the sale of this item, as these are readily available online at a fraction of the price that I would be able to offer them for sale for, being that mine are fully handmade. The bouquet being held in picture 1 is not included in the sale, this was the brides own. Timescales Typically, I like to allow 6 weeks for production of your outfit, and a further 4-6 weeks for shipping (depend on your location). There's nothing worse than a bride worrying that their outfit will arrive in time for their wedding!! I can however, make the outfit more quickly if a request is urgent, although this always depends on my workload at any time. I would hope that we had already agreed a price, chosen fabrics and obtained measurements at this 12 week point, so PLEASE DON'T LEAVE IT TOO LONG to place your orders as I always have client orders from elsewhere as well to design and create to consider. Please send me a convo at any time if you are interested in this ensemble, so we can discuss timescales, requirements, fabrics and if you are planning on loosing any weight for your wedding. Thank you. My Support and Service to You I will be on hand throughout the process to offer advice and guidance on suitable fabrics and trimmings, so the world really is your oyster! The price of this listing includes everything as described above. However, I am more than happy to provide quotations, if you want to use a particularly expensive fabric or trimming, are looking for additional items for yourself (how about a matching bridal and toss garter set!?), or would like to add additional items for other in your wedding party (eg. matching cravat and hankie set for your groom or complimenting fascinators or hats for your bridesmaids). I have worked in the bridal industry for many years, and have been sewing bridal, victoriana and steampunk outfits and movie costumes for many years more! So you can be certain that I can help every bride design their perfect outfit for their special day! Please remember, the pictures are just an example. Please just convo me to discuss what you've imagined for your own Fairytale wedding!
