Mind you, with the ever increasing storms we get here in the UK, I think I would be fearful of a storm surge, we had a big one four years ago with the Hurricane. This is looking towards the Hills of Applecross, very wild and rugged terrain, which one of my contacts, Ken, said he had one of his wildest hill walks of all time here. Well, ditto Ken !! Poor visibility combined with raging wind, huge slippery rocks, navigation a nightmare, but did it put me off ? No way, I have blood in my veins, love the adrenaline. Especially when I am safe back home nice and warm and cosy, He He !! Minus 18 C / 0.4 F in Aviemore last night, now floods after torrential rain, hot on the heels of all that snow, down in England - are you Southerners trying to outdo us up here in the Highlands ? Only joking, you have my heartfelt sympathies ! This Winter will go down as a BAD one !!! There is a wonderful road trip to be had over the Bealach na Ba, the pass of the cattle, with its hairpin bends and astounding views, across to the Isle of Skye and all over the mainland, especially at the summit, at 2,053 feet, . A single track road, care AND consideration is needed when driving. Keep an eye open for the often encountered Red Deer, and the Golden Eagle is usually to be seen here. as is the Mountain Hare, and some Grouse. One of my fave trips !! # 128 on Explore

The road stands out against it's natural surroundings from any high point, cutting through the wide glacial valleys. It is a favourite viewpoint of mine and many others in Scotland! This handmade print is perfect for any outdoor enthusiast, NC500 adverturer, scot or Scotland lover. This stunning view will entice anyone to to put on their hiking boots and explore everything that Scotland has to offer. This print is available in 5 colours: - Black, Chocolate brown, Dark Green & Burnt Sienna on white Japanese Masa paper - Sepia (a mottled combination of mauve, brown and burnt sienna) on Nepalese Mulberry paper (very fine and textured paper) Paper size is approx. 27cm width by 32cm height (unframed) Image size is 20cm width by 25cm height approx. This landscape print features an original hand-printed design by Isobel Buchanan (@theinkbothy). It was hand-carved into lino using traditional lino and swiss pfeil woodcutting tools. It has been hand-printed in 4 colours of ink (see above). The black & green versions are printed on high quality, light-weight Japanese Masa paper, the other colours are all printed on lovely light-weight, gently textured mulberry paper. All are printed using Caligo oil-based relief inks. All prints are signed by the artist. Every print is hand-printed and therefore unique so there may be minor variations from the photograph - this is the nature of printmaking. There may be small amount of ink on the back of the paper. Russell Burn, Applecross, NW Highlands. The water was far too much in spate for eye-catching photography, and the sky wasn't particularly interesting, but, hey, we have to deal with what we've got! For the benefit of those who might be interested, the background mountains are the two arms of Sgùrr a' Chaorachain, with the prominent buttress being Na Chiochan (trans: "The Breasts"), the face of which is one of the more exacting rock climbs in the area. www.karlwilliamsphotography.co.uk
