I had this colored image lying around for a few weeks and thought I'd better put it to use before it got all mangled on my desk. I copied the technique shown by Amy Celona who does gorgeous work. This was my first attempt so I stuck to her colors, etc so I could compare at the end. It's not as good as Amy's but I'm happy with it and will use this technique again. I decided to use the Freshly Made Sketch challenge and the SUO Challenge to use something from the soon-to-end Occasions Mini. On to the card. I decided to keep a monochromatic look and in keeping with the look, went with a sympathy sentiment. Here's the sketch I worked with: Products used (all Stampin' Up!) Stamps: Apothecary Art; Warmest Regards (retired) Cardstock: Not Quite Navy; Whisper White; Regals DSP Ink: Black Stazon; Basic Black Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons; Blender Pen; White Taffeta ribbon (dyed with Not Quite Navy ink); Pearls Cheers Karren

Now that February 14 is past, many people think that heart shapes have less use on cards. Me? I think nothing could be further from the truth! Check out this lovely card. This is the kind of card you send to a friend (or a sister, daughter or mother) just to say "Hi". And best of all, it's another quick and easy card! The new Adorning Accents embossing folder made the strip of embossed hearts on the Whisper White card. And the "Hello" was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink using the Elementary Elegance stamp set (FREE during Sale-A-Bration) Whisper White and Pretty In Pink hearts were cut using the Big Shot and the new Hearts Framelits, and these were embossed with either the Polka Dots or Elegant Lines embossing folders. The "hello" from the Tiny Tags set was stamped using Cherry Cobbler ink and punched out using the Jewelry Tag Punch. A silver brad to set these into the heart, and everything was pieced together using dimensionals. Of course the crowning glory to this card is the Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details that was selectively applied onto some of the embossed areas of the white heart. Glitz and shine without stray glitter all over the place. And there you have it. A friendship heart for someone you love. Even when Valentine's Day is over! Happy Leap Day. God Bless, ~Cynthia <><
Happy Thursday everyone! It's another week at Create with Connie & Mary. Each week I tell myself that I will try to post to my blog some day other than Sundays and Thursdays but....I'm just not finding the time. At least I'm keeping up with the design teams, right?! This week, Connie & Mary have a fun sketch for us: I started playing around with the different elements of the sketch and ended up with something totally different than what I had in mind....let's just say that the sketch was an "inspiration"... It's actually a gate-fold card with the "gate" off-center a little bit. What do you think? An abstract take on the sketch but the elements of it are still there. My base is a 4.25" x 11" piece of Soft Suede, scored at 3.5" and 9". Once folded, it forms a regular A2 sized card. Onto the gate doors, I layered some Calypso Coral paper from the Everyday Enchantment DSP and some Lucky Limeade patterned paper. The focal image is the largest label from Apothecary Art which I colored with Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade ink and a Blender Pen. I thought the background paper needed a little something, so I stamped the edge of the single stamp, Elizabeth in Soft Suede to frame the center image. I also used Elizabeth on the inside in Soft Suede. I intended to color in just a few parts of the stamp but once I started, I couldn't stop! I like the way it brings in the Lucky Limeade. I would love to know what you think of today's card. A bit different in style from my usual but once the inspiration started, I had to run with it! I hope you'll be inspired to play along with me and the rest of the amazing design team at Create with Connie & Mary this week. Be sure to link up before Wednesday, March 28th at Noon (EST). Thanks for stopping by today! Supplies Stamps: Apothecary Art; Elizabeth; Loving Thoughts Ink: Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede Paper: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral CS; Everyday Enchantment DSP; In Color Designer Patterns Xtras: Labels Framelits; Crumb Cake seam binding ribbon; Basic Pearls; Scallop Ribbon Border Punch; 1 1/4" Square Punch; Blender Pens

Today's sympathy card is stamped with the Apothecary Art stamp set and the sentiment is from the Loving Thoughts stamp set...it fits perfectly on this label image. The decorative edges were created with the Adorning Accents Edgelits die. I used So Saffron for this card and love the soft look...
Here's what I've been doing the past few days. I've been designing my Stamp Camp cards. Now, all I have to do is cut, score, die cut and punch everything! Project #1 is a simple Valentine card. We'll use a Sale-A-Bration set and Real Red Ink, base card and Satin Ribbon. The Whisper White layer is punched with the Scallop Border Punch. Project #2 is another Valentine using the embedding and embossing technique. The hearts were punched with the Heart to Heart Punch using Pink Pirouette, Pretty In Pink and Melon Mambo card stocks. Then, the punched hearts were adhered to the Whisper White panel and the whole thing was embossed with the Square Lattice folder. The sentiment is from a Sale-A-Bration set. Project #3 is a birthday card using a Sale-A-Bration set. I thought this could be for a male or female. The colors are Lucky Limeade and Basic Black card stocks plus DSP. The stamp set coordinates with the Curly Label Punch. Project #4 is a simple sympathy card using "Apothecary Art" and Labels Framelits. The colors are Pool Party and Whisper White. The flowers were colored with Pool Party, Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral Markers. The ribbon is the coordinating Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon. Project #5 is the card I made on Monday. I thought everyone would enjoy trying that technique where we use a brayer to ink up the embossing folder and then emboss. More details about this card may be found here. Everything used to make all five cards is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

This card showcases two coordinating products: the Apothecary Art stamp set and the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. Both these products are new in the current Occasions Mini Catalog. I also used these other new products from the Occasions mini catalog: Blushing Bride Pleated Ribbon, Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies, and Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper. To finish off the card, I sprayed it with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and added some Pearls. Thanks for visiting!
Turquoise is everywhere at the moment - have you noticed? I've been wearing it with a zing of coral so when I saw the challenge at Less is More was A Touch of Turquoise this week, I thought I'd try it on a card. Come and see: I could have chosen any of the beautiful new florals from Stampin' Up's spring/summer catalogue to make this design but I was feeling wistful for an old friend so out came Summer Silhouettes. The leaves and flowers were stamped in a triangular shape using two of the turquoise-ish colours: Coastal Cabana and Island Indigo. The banner is from one of the stamps in the Apothecary Art set. It was too long so I cut it down and hid the join with the fussy cut sentiment. No-one would ever know...! The sketch I used comes from the ever-inspiring CAS(E) this Sketch. HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO MAKE THIS CARD (Click on each item to find it quickly in my shop) Stamps: Summer Silhouettes wood or cling, Apothecary Art wood or cling, Sassy Salutations wood or cling, Ink: Coastal Cabana, Island Indigo, Early Espresso, Calypso Coral Card stock: Whisper White, Pool Party Other: Paper snips, stamp-a-majig Click above to place an order any time, day or night, but if you have any queries, or prefer to speak to me, I'm always happy to help. You can contact me by email or phone on 01280 820593. The Easter holidays have begun so life has gone into overdrive again! My youngest son took pity on me and offered to go to the supermarket for me today. I rummaged around in the cupboards to see what we needed while he wrote the list. "We'll need sprouts," I said. "How many?" asked my son, writing it down. "Hmm, let's see - about 16," I said. "And we'll need a couple of parsnips." He looked up. "Two?" he asked. I nodded. "Yes, and could you get a pat of butter? Just one." He twinkled at me and launched into song: "And a partridge in a pear tree!" Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I'll be back on Monday when I'll be turning my attention to birthdays! Hope to see you then,
Hello Peeps !!! Happy Friday !!! Here is another stamp set that I love from the Occasions Mini even if half of the time I have a hard time saying it. It is called Apothecary Art and it goes with the Framelits Label Collections. How cool is that ? I stamped my image and colored it and I ran it into my Big Shot using the diecut. I used the same cut on the So Saffron cardstock and I used it to layer behind to create just a bit of shadowing in the back. Hope you like it. RECIPE: Stamps: Apothecary Art Paper: So Saffron, Chooclate Chip, Whisper White, DSP Ink: Basic Black, Markers Accessories: satin ribbon. pearls Tools: Big Shot, Framelits Labels Collections, dimensionals Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day stampin' Chat
Hi Guys! Today I've got a card to share with you that I've created to enter in Craft Project Central's Creating Pretty Cards Sketch Challenge, simply follow the link to find out more about this challenge. I have an Aunt whose birthday is next month and think this will be the perfect card to give to her. If you check out the original sketch here, you'll see I've changed it up a little by turning it on to it's side. Other than that I've stayed pretty close to the sketch. I'm happy with how it turned out. I've used the Hardwood Background Stamp, Apothecary Art Stamp Set, Whisper White A4 Card Stock, Crisp Cantaloupe A4 Cad Stock, Baked Brown Sugar Classic Stampin' Pad, Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Stampin' Pad, Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad, Whisper White 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Labels Collection Framelits, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Blender Pen and Adhesives. Now I'm off to create some scrapbook layouts to share with you all tomorrow to get into the spirit of International Scrapbooking Day. Well one of them anyway. After stumbling across something on line stating tomorrow was ISD I "googled" International Scrapbooking Day 2014 and found two different dates, tomorrow the 4th of March and also the 3rd of May. I've participated in ISD before in May, so feel that is the more legit date, but I've decided I'm just going to celebrate it twice this year. Because honestly, is one day enough to recognise our scrapbooking efforts and endeavours? I don't think so. So join me tomorrow and again in May and celebrate International Scrapbooking Day twice! Happy crafting everyone! Cheers Ange
