An exceptional antique Scottish malachite bracelet from the mid-Victorian era, c1870! Made of sterling silver, the stunning bracelet features fourteen malachite segments which are inlaid and form a striking geometric Greek Key pattern. The malachite stones have beautiful rich green hues with varying wondrous flowing and banded patterns to the individual segments. The malachite was likely sourced from the Ural Mountains in Russia which was a main source of malachite in the 19th century. Each of the seven hinged panels are adorned with hand-engraved flourishes to the silver surface, and there is a hand-etched border which is stepped down in height, adding a subtle three-dimensional look to the bracelet! A tongue clasp, which is integrated into the design for a seamless look, secures the bracelet with a firm click. Typical of 19th century Scottish pieces, this piece is not stamped, albeit tests indicate sterling silver. A wonderful piece of Scottish history, and still as wearable today as it was two centuries ago. A striking green beauty!

A unique pebble bracelet from the late 19th century, circa 1900! Hailing from Scotland and entirely hand-wrought, this late-Victorian bracelet comprises of three carved agate links and three earthy orange gem set links. The largest central agate link is fashioned into an oval-shape with a carved recessed quatrefoil pattern, and there are two beautiful flower carved agate links. Each of the agates feature an artful greyish white and soft beige striated pattern, giving gorgeous character to the bracelet. The agates rest in wire frames which are topped with single granules, adding to the lovely floral appearance. The agate links are interspaced with three golden orange gems (the centre gem is lighter in colour). The golden orange gems resemble the Scottish Cairngorm (aka citrine) - however gemological tests reveal two pastes and a synthetic corundum (which is the lighter-coloured stone). The bright Cairngorm lookalike gems rest in sawtooth bezel collets with ornate hand-engraved frames, except for the last link which has a smoothly polished frame. A simple fold-over hook style clasp fastens the bracelet nicely, and there is a safety chain for extra security. The total length of the bracelet measures 18cm (7" inches) and the widest width of the bracelet (oval agate) measures 3.50cm. Video of the bracelet can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0XcIclKvrOc Scottish pebble jewellery was made popular again in the 19th century due to Queen Victoria adorning Scottish jewellery, and her frequent visits to her Scottish Castle Balmoral. Four links feature three elongated rows of slightly domed profiles, each embellished with agates and jaspagates inlaid along the design. In between these links are two north-south links, one link features a banded agate inlay, and the other link features a burnt-orange jaspagate. The largest center link boasts a natural Scottish Cairngorm citrine which rests in a slightly elevated sawtooth bezel. The Cairngorm citrine is bordered by an etched silver border, and additionally framed by an agate and jaspagate inlaid dome rim. Each link is adorned with a beautiful and fanciful scroll and flower hand-engraving... adding further charm and character to the bracelet! An integrated tongue clasp secures the bracelet nicely. The polished Scottish agate and jaspagate stones display a lovely variation of warm Autumnal tones, which look fabulous against the silver. Overall length of the bracelet is 19cm (7 1/2" inches).
