In this era of political division, the seven Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms (the Heptarchy) are on the brink of disaster as the Vikings are about to begin their first raids on the British Isles. The writing is in old English, although the font used was not developed until a later period of the Medieval Age. High-quality giclee print available at various sizes. The actual detail is greater than in the photos, which have been compressed for Etsy. This piece took roughly one week to research, draft, and paint.
