Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009) Peintre américain Père de ...
. DESCRIPTION: There are two Wyeth painters, Andrew Newell Wyeth (1917 - 2009) and his father N. C Wyeth ( 1882 - 1945). Most people are familiar with the works of Anderew Newell Wyeth. This painting entitled "The Wyeth Studio" was created by N. C. Wyeth circa 1913 - 1915. Since he was mostly an illustrator, this is a painting that is quite unusual in his portfolio. Painted in oils, I have photographed the painting and made it into a giclee gallery-quality print. The studio building is situated in a casual landscape on a warm sunny day. With windows on each side of the old house, he would have had plenty of light falling on his canvases. A wonderful gift for yourself or matted and framed it would be an awesome gift for a Wyeth-loving friend. NOTE: Click the image so you can see the details. Your art will be bigger than Etsy images. . One of the Helga Pictures - by Andrew Wyeth [American Contemporary Realist Painter, 1917-2009] The Helga Pictures are a series of more than 240 paintings and drawings of German model Helga Testorf created by Andrew Wyeth between 1971 and 1985. Testorf was a neighbor of Wyeth's in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, and over the course of fifteen years posed for Wyeth indoors and out of doors, nude and clothed, in attitudes that reminded writers of figures painted by Botticelli and Edouard Manet. Although Wyeth denied that there had been a physical relationship with Testorf, the secrecy surrounding the sessions and public speculation of an affair created a strain in the Wyeths' marriage. Well after the paintings were finished Testorf remained close to Wyeth and helped care for him in his old age. Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009) one of the most popular american painters of the twentieth century. His spare watercolours often evoke a spiritual connection to rural landscapes that strike a chord with many. His interior views seem weather dependant and unsheltered. Steadfast to his craft to the end he was criticised by some for an illustrative approach but by the end of his life he had become very wealthy and there is a cutting honesty to his view of a rural homestead from the comfort of his private jet.
