Another year has flown by and at this point, I’ve stopped even trying to comprehend where the time is going. Our boy is seven. SEVEN! I’m sure I will blink and he will be graduating from college. This does not seem like an exaggeration. As has become his habit, he has been talking all year […]

Well, our little Dempsey Bean is officially TWO! We had the best time celebrating our sweet little caboose with a train party last weekend! We had cookies and cake and snacks out of a train I kinda DIY’d! I made the engine with foam core, then cut some foam core wheels to add to some wooden “train cars” that held the food! The track was cut out of black felt! The kids played with cars and trains on Dempsey’s new play mat (that was his present from us!) and on Wilson’s train tracks! Fun times! Below are some pics. The good ones (including the family ones) were captured by my sweet talented friend Haley! Since we were all dressed cute, we decided to have Haley take Christmas card pics before the party to kill two birds with one stone! Hope you enjoy the pics! 🙂 I’ll link as much as I can at the bottom of this post! 🙂 Here are a few peeks at Christmas pics! We had so much fun with Haley doing these!!! I ended up doing a funfetti cake and homemade buttercream icing, then used a wet spatula to smooth it out! (Learned that tip from my girl Mary Straton!) then DIY’d the train topper. Just paper and toothpicks! 🙂 Striped plates from Zazzle First and third “train cars” from Hobby Lobby. Can’t find them on HL’s site, but this looks similar?! Middle “train car” from The Outlet (use LAUREL20 for 20% off!) Cardboard train cutout from Oriental Trading Balloon arch kit from Lushra Custom cookies by Virgina Rose Baking Co. in Madison! Gathre mat on food table is sold out in my pattern, but there are SO MANY CUTE options now! Clip art to create invitation in Photoshop came from ETSY! You can browse similar train/car sets + Demps’s new play mat here! Turn on your JavaScript to view content I plan to do a separate post on our party/Christmas card outfits, so keep an eye out for that! Thank you SO MUCH for stopping in today! It truly means the world! And to Dempsey– HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY!! We love our little man SOOO MUCH! Could not imagine life without that little nut 🙂 I hope your day is absolutely the best! XO!
