This poster is a clear example of the way communists were treated in America during the Communist witch hunt era. The government was trying to make it as obvious as possible that the communist spie…
Anti-Communist Propaganda Cold War
U.S.S.R. EURASIAN NUTHATCH T-SHIRT During the Soviet era, match boxes were canvases for propaganda that promoted Communist Party ideology, marketed products from state-owned enterprises, promoted health and safety messages, marked national and Comintern anniversaries, and reinforced Party-led achievements such as the space program, collectivization, and modernization. The bottom line was to remind citizens that the Party and the State were successfully leading the country to prosperity and independence. The Soviet government ran the match factories and the state publishing house commissioned, sponsored, and vetted match box cover art. Match box cover art was simple, and ultimately quaint, one of many forms of mass communication employed by the Party to advance its agenda throughout the country. In this instance, we have a match box cover with a beautiful drawing of a Eurasian Nuthatch. The inscription reads “поползень,” pronounced “popolzen,” which translates to “Nuthatch.” Hell of a goddamn bird there. Part of the NEW Royal King Dynasty Warsaw Pact T-Shirt Collection. Fully designer, 100% authentic Eastern Bloc sportswear. Women’s shirts. Kids shirts. V-Necks. Unisex shirts. All available to you, to help you celebrate the iconic and idiosyncratic illustration and design of the Soviet era. Find us at royalkingdynasty.etsy.com . *************************** Sit down. Let’s talk. Here at Royal King Dynasty, we strive to not rip you off. We start with premium quality shirts, for the hope is that this t-shirt is going to become one of your staples. We’d like it to last a while. Shirts: For Unisex cut shirts, we use either Next Level NL3600 or Bella + Canvas 3001 Unisex Jersey t-shirts. Neither of these shirts are boxy, baggy, or tent-like. These dudes will fit true to size, but they won’t be tight. For Women’s cut shirts, we usually go with Bella + Canvas 6004 Ladies Favorite T-Shirt. Same-same: not tight, but flattering and true to size. All of these shirts are 100% cotton and lightweight. Size charts are included in all photo sets. Kids shirts will be a different story, as these tend to be a little roomier. But most people are usually fine with that. We can also do V-Necks, long-sleeved shirts, tank tops, and sweatshirts. Care: All prints use Direct-to-Garment digital printing. Made with computers, and a computer places the ink directly onto the shirt. The prints are usually good for 50 washes or so. My strong recommendation - wash in gentle cycle, shirt inside-out, air dry. DTG prints are a little more delicate than high quality silk screen t-shirts, I’m afraid. Colors: Kindly note that there will be times that certain colors are not available. I’ll chase you down with some options if this rarity happens. Additionally, the colors will not be the same across different t-shirt cuts (Unisex, Women, Kid, V-neck, etc) and I will let you know immediately if I can’t get the exact color you want. Our Scheme: Royal King Dynasty uses a drop-shipper. The way this thing works is as follows. You place an order, and then I order the shirt through a company that prints single order t-shirts and then ships them out to you. Usually, orders go into processing right away, and they can be hard to cancel after submitting. But if there’s a problem, I can always try to cancel an order. Shipping: US orders ship via USPS and typically require a week before they’re delivered to you. International orders ship by UPS and usually require just under two weeks. We do have rush shipping options and use USPS Priority 1-3 day shipping; note that the 1-3 days shipping time is in addition to the order processing time, which is usually one to three days.
