My mom certainly out did herself with this one! She's been crafting, planning, constructing, wrapping, shopping since the day Kerry & Jeff told us they were expecting! (See Kerry's Bridal Shower and Wedding Invitation Suite). Kerry & Jeff aren't finding out the baby's gender, so my mom and I wanted to stick to a very neutral theme -- we decided on burlap with greys, whites and creams as accents. We had a blast shopping for gender neutral baby clothes and accessories to string around the room. My mom made all the decorative hanging balls from coffee filters! She's so talented. She also handmade all the utensil holders out of burlap, and wrapped wood 'baby' letters in yarn for decoration on the window sill. She came up with the really cute idea of wrapping boxes of diapers in brown paper and stacking them to resemble baby blocks - so cute! .. not to mention the chocolate dipped pretzels and oreos, burlap 'baby' banners, diaper cakes, flowers and wreaths, wood signs, and champagne favors! I'm proud to say I get my creative side from my mom. Not that my Dad isn't creative... he decided to spell out the word 'baby' with all the champagne favors -- nice work dad! But in the words of rapper Will.I.Am.... "I got it from my mama..." Thanks to everyone for coming and helping out! It was a great time. Kerry, Jeff and Baby M are so lucky!

Hi, I'm Ashlee and I am SO excited to do my very first guest post!!! I am a high school special education teacher, bride to be, avid bargain shopper, lover of travel, and a wanna be HGTV superstar ;) I've been blogging for a few years over at The Pink Pineapple where I share tips for living fabulously on a teacher's budget, recipes, travel tips, and more! I LOVE blogging because I LOVE learning knew things (there are SO many talented bloggers out there) and I like sharing my ideas with others. I feel like we are all in this world together, so why not share fabulous things with one another?! I'd love for you to come join my little blog world, so come on over and say hello :) Now, I don't know about y'all, but in my world, EVERYONE is pregnant. We joke and say that we are going to have the most pregnant wedding known to man, but we are so excited for all of our friends who are expecting! I guess that's what happens when you're getting ready to turn 30 ;) My fiance and I plan to wait a year or so to have a little bambino, so until then I get to shower all of my girls with fun little gifts for theirs! I always try to think of "different" things to do for gifts and such so a few years ago I decided to try my hand and making a diaper wreath after seeing one at a baby shower I attended. To my surprise, they are SUPER easy to make and every mom to be LOVES them!! Here's how to do it: Materials: 1 foam round wreath (I always get mine at Hobby Lobby using 40% everyday coupons-hello bargain) 1 wooden letter ( I use the baby's first initial) Diapers- approx 15 are used ( I use size 3 since they are a tad bigger and easier to attach AND so that the mom can keep her wreath in tact for longer) Ribbon-multi colors, sizes and patterns (What I use varies from wreath to wreath, but I always use a thicker one for the hanging ribbon) Craft paint- to paint the wooden letter Directions: Note: I find sitting in the floor to do this is easiest 1. Paint your wooden letter 2.Take the diapers and wrap around the wreath where as the part of the diaper that opens up is hugging the foam wreath. 3. Grab the top of the diaper in a bundle and tie a piece of your ribbon around it to secure it at the top. I find 6 inches of ribbon is a good amount to use. 4. Rotate the wreath and continue the process all the way around. DO NOT worry about small spaces that show through as the next step will fix that. 5. Once your diapers are all on the wreath, take some other ribbon and attach it in various spots throughout the wreath filling in any foam spots that show through. I tend to do this with a few colors all around the wreath to add some pops of color. 6. Take your painted letter and attach it to the wreath and add a thicker piece of ribbon to the top as your hanger and volia! You have a perfect personalized gift for the mommy to be :) These are great to hang on the hospital door after baby arrives :) If you have any questions about making these, please feel free to email me and I can help you in any way!!
