Hello there, I am delighted to be joining Altenew today to celebrate the release of their new Exotic Garden Collection. This is such a wonderful collection packed full of yummy goodies. I have a lot to share with you today, so I apologise for the long post but I hope you like seeing the inspiration. We are celebrating the release with a fun blog hop, more on the hop below. Let's get started with my first projects. To start with, I fell in love with the new Dovetail Butterflies set. These are beautiful and can be used in lots of different ways - for the card I used the outline only. For the tag, I used the layer and the outline. I started off my card by stamping one of the outline images from the Altenew Dovetail Butterflies Stamp Set on to vellum using Versamark Ink. I applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. I die cut the butterfly using the Altenew Dovetail Butterflies Dies. I then took a panel of white cardstock and die cut it using the Altenew Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover Die. I blended Altenew Cherry Blossom Crisp Dye Inks on to it, focusing most of the colour at the bottom of the panel. The panel was adhered flat to an A2 white card base with tape runner. I then added the butterfly on top with liquid glue, adding the glue behind the embossing powder so that it will not be seen. I stamped the sentiment from the Altenew Sentiment Strips Stamp Set on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink, applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. It was then finished off with a few sequins. If you have followed me for a while, you know that I cannot resist a tag! This time, I stamped the Altenew Dovetail Butterflies Stamp Set bottom layer on to white cardstock using Altenew Cherry Blossom Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set. I blended the cololours on the stamp using Altenew Small Ink Blending Tools. This was so that I could add the darker colour towards the centre of the butterfly. I then stamped the outline layer on top with Altenew Obsidian Black Ink. It was die cut out using the coordinating die. I then took a small panel of white cardstock and die cut it using the Altenew Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover Plate, followed by one of the tags from the Altenew Terrific Tags Die Set. The butterfly was adhered on top with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. The sentiment was stamped in black and die cut in to a strip also. To finish off, I added twine through the top of the tag and Altenew Cherry Blossom Enamel Dots around the sentiment. Before we move on to more projects. I wanted to share with you the new Altenew Color Swatch Decal Set - Small. These are rounded labels with all of Altenew's colour names on. There is also the name of the colour family too. These are great for lots of different things. They fit perfectly on the top of the Small Ink Blending Tools. This would be great if you happen to have a separate tool for each colour family of inks or certain colours that you use all the time. I thought that I would create some swatch tags with mine. I often forget which colour of inks are in which family and so I thought making swatch tags would help me when I need to look them up. I first went to my computer and in a Word document typed up the name of the ink set. I typed them but this could easily be hand written or made using a label maker. I printed them off and then die cut the sheets out using an Altenew Terrific Tags Die. I placed the Altenew Color Swatch Decals - Small on to the tags in their colour families. Once the tags were made, I added a jump ring to them so that they are easily accessible. Next up is the new washi tape. If you haven't already guessed by my first two projects, I really love the Cherry Blossom colours, so I was excited to see the new Altenew Cherry Blossom Slim Washi Tape Set. For my card, I started off by taking a panel of white cardstock and placing the washi tape strips on to it. I then die cut it out using one of the large Altenew Terrific Tags Dies. The tag was adhered flat to an A2 white card base and then I added Altenew Double Sided Adhesive Sheet to the back of white cardstock. The panels were die cut using the Altenew Spring Roses Die Set. They were layered up one on top of another (three high) and then added to the card on top of the tag. The sentiment, from the Altenew Sentiment Strips Stamp Set was stamped on to black cardstock with Versamark ink. I applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder, heat set and cut it in to a strip. It was added to the card with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape and then I added a few sequins to finish. For my final project today, I went completely out of my comfort zone! I started off with a panel of black cardstock. It was run through my die cutting machine using the new Altenew Decorative Florals 3D Embossing Folder. Using an ink blending tool, I then applied a layer of white pigment ink across the raised areas. Whilst the ink was still a little wet, I applied Altenew Rose Gold Embossing Powder on top and heat set it. I really like that it just highlights the raised areas and gives the card some sparkle. The panel was added to a black A2 card base with tape runner. I then took the sentiment from the Altenew Fresh Freesia Stamp Set and stamped it on to more black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied more rose gold embossing powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I added Bronze Jewels. Good evening! This is my entry to the CAS(E) this Sketch #99 and Color me...! Card Challenge #45. This card got Honourable Mention at the Color me...! and was also one of CTS Favourites. This card is made for the CAS(E) this Sketch #99- challenge and for the Color me...! Card Challenge #45. The wonderful guest designer this week at CTS is Kelly Latevola, whose blog is just full of inspiration, good use of colours and amazing colouring! So, I wanted to create something inspired by her designs. At Color me...! there is this Real Red Monochromatic theme this week. The flowers are Persian Motifs from Altenew. I watercoloured them with Distress Inks: Fried Brick and Black Soot. For the sentiment and for the background I ink them with Versafine Onyx Black and then embossed it with Clear Sparkle Embossing Powder. Here are challenges' graphics: Thank you for stopping today. Hello and Welcome to my stop on the Altenew April Release Blog Hop. If you are hopping along, you should be arriving from Yoonsun Hur's Blog. I had the pleasure of creating with 4 of the New Layering Dies! These layering dies are sure to be a hit! I found them to make Quick cards that look as if it took a long time to complete, but really didn't:) I also LOVE these intricate cover plate dies because, as you will see, they make SUPER masculine cards...which are very difficult for me to come up with! Layered Medallions CoverDie A Layered Medallions CoverDie B Starting with my Masculine/Boy cards using Layered Medallions CoverDie A and Layered Medallions CoverDie B:) I simply cut each cover die Layered Medallions CoverDie A and Layered Medallions CoverDie B from two different shades of blue CS, layered them together on a Black card base and added the Die Cut Happy sentiment. Easy Peasy!! For the next card I Pieced the tiny bits back together from Layered Medallions Cover Die A cut from several different colored CS...My kiddos, ages 11 and 12, LOVED doing this technique! On the very center, I layered several of the floral shapes and a few pieces from Layered Medallions CoverDie B for a more layered look. Finished with a few sequins and a sentiment from Happy Mail. My DH gave a big thumbs up for this one:))) Now for a more feminine approach using the Layered Medallions Cover Die A: I cut one die from White CS and another from light blue CS and stuck them together with spray adhesive slightly miss aligning the top layer so a 'shadow' of blue is showing:) I think it ever so Lovely this way! Then I added a Build-A Flower: Camellia at the corner. It is inked in shades of blue from the Cool Summer Nights Collection. the leaves are inked with Tropical Forest mini ink collection. The sentiment is from Label Love stamped on a small tag from Handmade Tag Die set. Inked with the beautiful DUSK crisp ink. Made a little thread nest to go under the tag and embellished with clear sequins:)) Moving on to Floral Cover Die A: I just adore the lacy look of this one! Coloring it with the Artistic Markers set A was super easy. While I was at it, I decided to continue coloring with the markers on the Floral Cover Die B. Adding some MORE color with the crisp inks and mini blender tool. Both of the Floral Cover Dies are lovely on their own.... However LAYERING them makes for a Stunning Presentation! EEEEK! I'm giddy over the dimension :)) To complete my card, I layered a sheet of vellum between Floral A and Floral B panels. Then added a Tag created with the Handmade Tag Die set.
