Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Gemma Clarke Hello everyone, Today's project is a cute little centre piece or a lovely gift for someone special. I have based my vase today on a gift box that I saw quite some time ago by Ann Melvin, her beautiful ornate gift box, I thought it would make a great vase to put paper flowers in and with the Tulip punch in the mini catalogue I couldn't wait to get crafting. I started with a four sided box vase and then decided to make a five sided version to give it more of a typical vase shape. I then started experimenting with my different punches and thought that the four petal punch made great leaves for under my tulips. To make my vase I chose real red card and I used some of the From My Heart Speciality DSP. I used the coordinating stamp set and punch pack within the suite to make the tag on the vase. I love how the scalloped heart punch cuts out the heart images on the dsp such an easy way to make toppers and tags! To make the vase you will need Card measuring 6 3\4" x 5 3\4" which you will need to score at On the 6 3\4" side at 1 1\4", 2 1\2", 3 3\4", 5" and 6 1\4" On the 5 3\4" side at 1 1\4" and 5 1\4" 5 pieces of card measuring 1 1\4" x 5 1\2", these all need to be scored across the long side at 1" and 5" For the Designer Series Paper you will need 5 pieces 1 1\8" x 4 1\8" 5 pieces 1 1\8" x 7\8" You will also need a scrap of the same coloured cardstock roughly 2 1\2" square, this is for the bottom of the box. Che ne dite di questa scatoletta? Ho appena finito di fare le ultime modifiche al file in modo che tutto fosse rifinito come si deve. E' una scatoletta che può essere usata in due modi: chiusa da sopra (il tetto si apre di lato) o da sotto. Ho disegnato la base in modo che la chiusura sia ad incastro, quindi l'unico punto in cui è assolutamente necessario applicare dell'adesivo è una linguetta sul lato di una parete posteriore. La scatolina può anche essere appesa con il nastro che passa attraverso e sopra il tetto o applicata sopra un bastoncino, come una vera casina degli uccelli. E' disponibile in due versioni, con la porta a forma di cerchio e di cuore, ed ho aggiunto un davantino singolo da ritagliare, in entrambe le versioni, per poter ricavare anche solo quello dalla carta da scrap, da incollare poi su una scatola ritagliata da cartoncino comune. In questo modo si possono ricavare più frontali decorati da un solo foglio di carta "bella" e risparmiare qualche soldo. Ho preparato come al solito i files in versione SVG, SCAL e PDF, che troverete nel box nella parte sinistra del blog. La casina è facile da tagliare anche a mano, e il tetto può essere decorato con i punches di bordo. Nei files oltre alla casina, al tetto e alla base, troverete anche l'uccellino e il rametto, Per chi ha Cricut o Silhouette sarà sicuramente più facile ritagliare queste ultime forme... Ora sto preparando i files per fiori da ritagliare, ispirati alle nuovissime rose 3D della Sizzix. Per chi ha la Cricut sarà quindi possibile ridimensionare i fiori secondo le proprie necessità. Sono tra l'altro forme facili e veloci da ritagliare anche a mano... Ho pensato di semplificare lo scarico dei miei templates. La prossima mossa sarà quindi preparare files zippati che contengono tutti e tre i formati di ogni template. Ci sarà un solo link di scarico per tutte le versioni, in una solo link e una volta effettuato il download basterà cancellare i files che non interessano. This is my last Cricut template, a little birdhouse box that can be opened from the top (the roof opens sideways) and from the bottom. It can also be hung using the ribbon, and the base can be attached to a stick to put it into a vase as a deco element. I made the house with an interlocking bottom and a "slide-in" top, so the only adhesive it really needs is on a rear wall flap. In different levels I put two versions of the house: one with a heart shaped door and one with a classic, circle door. I added also a "front only" version that can be cut from patterned paper and then attached to a box cut out from less expensive cardstock. I made SCAL, SVG and PDF versions of this birdhouse. The files also contain the little bird and the branch. I'm going to simplify the way I share my templates, leaving one only 4Shared download box, and preparing zip files with all the versions (SVG, SCAL and PDF) of every single template. Tomorrow I'll add also the files I'm preparing now: inspired by the new Sizzix 3D Flowers, the roll-up roses. Hope you'll like them!
I have agreed to do a craft fair soon which is a charity fundraiser to raise funds for a little boy who is very ill - see sidebar for more information. So I have been very busy making up lots of cards and other goodies to sell. One of the items I have been making is a mini emergency sewing kit so I thought I would do a quick tutorial on how to make them. This is what we are making: And these are the finished kits all prettied up in their own little packages: Start with your mini sewing kit. Then you need the following: Base (wisteria wonder in this case) 10cm x 9.5cm - score halfway along the 10cm side ie at 5cm, and score along the shorter side at 3cm. Tab (also wisteria wonder) 3cm x 5cm Designer series paper (Berry Blossoms - retired) - two pieces - one 9.5cm x 6cm and one 2.5cm x 4.5cm Two flowers punched out using Boho Blossoms punch A brad. You may need to rejig the measurements if your sewing kit is bigger or smaller. I use my grid paper from Stampin' Up! (106587 Grid Paper (100 sheets) £7.95) to help with measurements when I'm making up these type of projects - I find it really helps to be able to sketch it out before cutting out card stock that might be the wrong size! Using sticky strip fold up the card along the score line to make a pocket for your sewing kit. Round the corners of your card tab and the designer series paper (dsp) tab using a corner rounder and glue the dsp on to your tab base. Score down the middle of your tab (at 2.5cm). Attach tab to your base. Scrumple up your flowers to break down the fibres in the card and then carefully peel the two layers apart. Layer all four flowers, use your paper piercer to make a hole, and secure with a brad (I used one of the the FREE brads from the Everyday Enchantment offer - last chance to order today!) Attach flower to your designer series paper (approx 2cm-2.5cm from the edge). Glue paper to base and then fold up like a book. Use the flower to catch the tab so that your little case stays closed up. If you liked this tutorial and found it useful I'd be really happy if you left me a comment to let me know :-)
I am still playing withe the Gift Bag Punch Board! :o) This time I created a Gift Voucher Wallet using it. I used the flower from the You've Got This stamp set for the main image - stamped in one of the new In Colours - Tip Top Taupe. The background was stamped using the large grungy stamp from the same set. I used another of the In Colours - Mint Macaron for this. The Bow was created using some of the Tip Top Taupe Dotted Trim and added to the card using a Glue Dot. The sentiment comes from the Crazy About You stamp set. This is the reverse of the Wallet. I punched 1/2" circles of Tip Top Taupe and attached these to the Wallet using some of our Silver Mini Brads. White Baker's Twine keeps the Wallet closed. I will be using these to hold my Stampin' Up! Gift Vouchers, but they could also hold a greeting card or money :o) Above is a photo of the card stock once I had finished punching and cutting it :o) I started with a piece 21cm x 21cm (8 1/4" x 8 1/4"). I used the Gift Bag Punch Board and started with the base. Note: if you haven't got this board yet, these instructions will not make sense :o) It will be available to purchase from my store from 2nd June. Firstly, score on the Horizontal Line right the way across. Line the left side up with the Start Line and score the Large score line. Move the card stock to the left and line up the vertical scored line with the Start Line - Punch and then score the Large score line again. Move the card stock again to the left, lining the vertical score line with the Start Line and Punch. Turn the card stock around to create the Top. Score on the Horizontal right the way across. Line up each of the two vertical score lines with the Start Line and Punch only. You then just need to trim away the excess pieces as shown in the pic above :o) I used the 1 3/8" Circle Punch to punch a part circle in the top of the back section, so you can remove the Voucher easily. Our favorite way to embellish them is by cutting the pieces in half on the top so you can open it with out having to take all the cute stuff off. The clips worked great for this. If we put all the ribbon and on the clip it was easy to put back on after you open it. See how we cut our pieces in half. To use 2 different sides, fold your paper like the picture shows. Hello and Welcome to my Blog! Today I would like to share with you a set of cards and portfolio made with the Stampin'Up Sale-A-Bration Flowering Fields and Perfect Pairings Stamp Sets along with the coordinating Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper. These Sale-A-Bration promotion free items are so amazing ! My friend Gina Barker who is a very talented Paper Crafter and I got together in a challenge to create each of us a project made with these Free items and this is what I came out with. I wanted to create a set of cards for different occasions and the Perfect Pairings Stamp Set worked really great for this project. I also wanted these cards to be placed in a Portfolio style carrier or box by using only one sheet of 8-1/2 X 11 piece of card stock plus 2 extra small pieces; the procedure will be explained bellow. This is the Portfolio closed and ready to be stored or give away as a gift. The Portfolio finished size is 6 X 4-1/2 X 1. The following pictures show the process on how to build this Portfolio. You will need a piece of card stock 8-1/2" X 11" and 2 extra pieces cut at 1" X 2" fold in half on short side, these pieces will be attached to sides of the bottom sections as you see in picture above. Score it on long side at: 1/2, 5, 6, and 10-1/2. Score it on short side at: 2 and 2-1/2. Remove the small sections as you see on picture above and attach the 2 extra pieces to the sides as described above. Add adhesive to the large tabs as you see in this picture and glue them towards the center. This process ensures that the edges of your Portfolio will have a nice finish. Attach the 2 extra pieces to the bottom tabs as you see in this picture. This is how it looks so far. Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper size 5-7/8 X 9-7/8 and score in center at 4-3/8, 5-3/8 and attach this piece first at spine then on the top side panels. This is a view from the apposite side so you can see how the extra pieces you added are being attached to the top panels to form the bottom boxes where the cards will be placed. This is how it looks already done from Inside :) The outside of your Portfolio you can decorate as you wish. The Following is Gina's project which is another Awesome idea! I love the way she used the Flowering Fields stamp set to create beautiful portraits of these flowers. She created a set of 4 notecards and a box to hold them.
