Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. I hope, wherever you are, that you are experiencing some lovely weather. Adelaide has been cold and overcast for weeks but, today, we finally have some sun!! It's still pretty cold though so all I can say is "Bring on the summer"!!!! OK, down to business ... I have another card to share with you. A very masculine and quite 'grungy' card as my title suggests. I distressed all the edges with my Ingvild Bolme Distressy Tool and inked them with 'Gathered Twigs' Distress Ink. A bit of Heather Jacob influence here I think, but still with my own stamp on it!! If you don't know Heather (Can't really imagine that, but) HERE is the link to her blog if you'd like to take a look!! You won't be sorry, as she creates the most gorgeous and inspiring projects! Looooveeee her work!! The papers used are from Prima's 'Engraver' Collection. The tickets were fussy cut from the papers then I crumpled them a little, inked the edges and slipped them in between the layers. Used a spatula to add some 'Clear Rock Candy' Distress Crackle and, when that was dry, I went over it with 'Gathered Twigs' Distress Ink to bring out the cracks. I then just used my finger to swipe some gesso around the edge. I love how the gesso also 'cracked' when it dried. Used the same technique on the belly band as you can see. I've had the metal key and the clock in my stash for a little while and am not sure where I got those but I really love that key. Was a bit sorry to use it as it is the only one I have but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet don't you?? Here's another closie of the 'crackle' effect. I really love it and you'll be seeing a lot more of this in my work!!! Decorated the inside with wide bands of the paper which were border punched with the 'Optic Dot' Punch by Martha Stewart. Then I added a bit more texture with Tim Holtz 'Latticework' Stencil and 'Frayed Burlap' Distress Ink and, again, wiped a little gesso around the edge on one side. A different view ... lying down ... ... and standing up!! This is the first of two 'grungy' masculine cards I created. The second is similar to this but of course a bit different as well and I will show you that one further down the track. Thank you so much for visiting today and I do hope you enjoy the rest of your day. Take care and God Bless.

Here are some cute ideas to get you started.

Hi Everyone - A quick tutorial to share today to show how to make these folded paper mini albums. Tutorial Now I am not going to deny this technique IS a little heavy on the paper use - but if you haven't had to buy a blank album - then I guess overall it's
Mixed Media, Paper Crafting, Watercolour, Altered Art, and occasional Dollshouses
Everyone should have at least one hobby in their lives. It’s incredibly satisfying to create something with your own hands, not just buy and consume stuff in your spare time. Whether it’s quilting, knitting, crocheting, painting, jewelry making, woodwork, pottery, or any of the hundreds of other incredibly fun DIY hobbies people around the entire globe embrace, the fact of the matter is that crafting is an absolutely great way to pass your free time.
Are you a minimalist or a maximalist when it comes to your bullet journal? Not sure? Here are the basics on these common styles.
I had several requests to post a tutorial for my Graphic 45 Pencil Bound ABC Primer Mini Album, so here it is! you will need some drink coasters or chipboard for a base Paper cut to size for both sides of coaster base pencil ruler measuring tape-fabric or plastic colorbox chalk tape scissors My First Ticondergoa Pencils-or any round object tacky glue Find out how much tape you will need with a about a half inch extra on both sides for attaching mine was 3 icnhes cut 21 (6 per page x 3 pages and 3 for the cover page) I find the center of my page and then measure out accordingly I make sure they are spaced evenly then I mark both side- i like to color it in to make it easier to see then i use one page as a template to do the others- at this pint I ink all of my edges with colorbox chalk. add a little tacky glue to each marked space- I use tacky glue doe to its good hold- tape adhesives do not seem to work as well-use them at your own risk! For your cover page you only need 3 tabs- i put and x on them to remind me glue only 3 tabs to your cover page stick em down! I use pencil to line them up perfectly then continue on to the other pages-i stack them as I go and use my pencil to make little adjustments as needed- set aside to dry then I bust out my Xyron creative station and line all of my cardstock pages. You can use tape runner for this instead lay it over the top of the tabs you just glued down trim any excess if needed Continue to do the rest of the pages-one side only!!-Covering the tabs you have already made TIP! I like to number my bases with my cardstock to match them up easier After you glued all of the sides with tabs, you will now want to glue down the other side of the tabs to the backs Double check to make sure you have sliding room, should fit loose enough to slide easily-to tight and your pages wont turn easily The nice thing about using a measuring tape is you know exactly where each tabs needs to be glued repeat for all of your pages. You should have 4 pages 3 with 6 tabs each one with 3 tabs- your cover Now take your cover Page A and place a top your second Page B I bend the tabs to make it easier to see- bend the three to the right (tabs 1,2,and 3) Start by going thorough the first tab of page B, then the first tab of page A -please note I mistakenly call page A, page B on this pic! sorry! keep going, alternating through page A and B got it right this time! and finally last tab of page A You should look like this now! Three empty tabs on page B Now place page C on top of page B and do the same thing, alternating through the tabs and again.... and that will leave your back page with the three tabs, just run the last pencil though all three tabs now you have this! take a piece of thin twine and weave it through the pencils tie it in a tight knot repeat on other side-dont worry if it goes all wonky, you can straighten it up as you go. if you like you can put a small dab of glue where the knot is, to seal the knot and make sure it is adhered to pencil-but a tight knot usually does the job my cover page Hope you will give it a try!

Hello everyone! I do love mini albums and I have to be in the mood to create one as they are time intensive but extremely rewarding at the end. The mini album I have to share with you is a project …
It's Amy here today, to share a recent book I made for myself. I have recently become very dependent on Google calendar on my iPhone to organize myself and my family, but I often need a place to quickly write a note, stick a business card or brochure, sketch out an inspirational idea, or tuck tickets from a movie or event. I was sort of needing a Smash book, but something more along the lines of a smash book meets journal, meets spiral notebook. I decided the only way to have this strange book, to my own to suit my needs and style, was to craft one myself. I To embellish the inside covers, I simply took two pieces of super cheap stationery, ($1.25 for 150 sheets), cut them to fit the inside of the book covers, and distressed them with the distrezz-it-all. Then I decoupaged them to the book, and gave the white area of the paper a coat of gesso, before misting them with black mist, and some drips from the cap. I started with an old library book discard for my book's cover. The covers of this book were sturdy, but very vintage, and it was easy to tear the binding apart, and use just the outside covers. I decided I would have pages of differing sizes and textures inside, so I punched the holes with my bind-it-all on the top and bottom only. In retrospect, I would have punched all along the side, to simplify the process....but I do like the look of the separate sets of o wires. I used my bind-it-all to punch and bind all kinds of interesting and quirky objects, like this 45 record I cut in half (the other half is on the book cover). The bind-it-all is amazing, and can just bite into nearly anything! I covered the cut ends in washi tape, and it kept the edges from potentially chipping and splintering during the punching process. I wrapped stamp packaging with washi tape (if anything needed edges, it was washi taped!) , and threw those in the mix of pages that also include library card pockets, a restaurant beer coaster, and legal sized envelopes. It always inspires me to have a mix of ideas, even in something somewhat utilitarian. Since this book will accompany me pretty much everywhere, I definitely wanted it to be inspiring! (Even if it's a little quirky and strange at the same time). Another soft cover to a book was a fun addition, but it felt a little thin, so I added washi (again) to the edges. I had an old spiral notebook with some blank pages left, so I tore them out, and bound them, as well. Zutter chipboard helped me out with some stability, so I put gesso on one side of four pieces, and put October Afternoon travel themed papers on the other side. The other blank papers are more of the stationery, and it is simply folded in half and bound. There are plenty for me to use to journal/make notes on. My summer has been quite mixed-up, and definitely hasn't been what I planned. But now, I have a fun and inspiring journal to tote with me during the last "dog days" before school starts. I hope maybe you will give creating a "mixed up" book a try.....it's so easy! Just grab your great Zutter tools, some random things you love, and in just a little bit of time, you'll have something special to use for ideas and inspiration, too! Thank you so much for joining me today!
