La Federación Internacional de Natación FINA confirmó la lista de los 50 nadadores de aguas abiertas clasificados a las olimpiadas Río 2016 . Diez clasificados en el Mundial de Kazan 2015 y 15 de las pruebas olímpicas el mes pasado en Setúbal, Portugal, forman el grupo de 25 nadadores de cada sexo para los eventos olímpicos. La orueba de mujeres se llevará a cabo el 15 de agosto y los hombres al día siguiente en la playa de Copacabana.
