Inspired by 17th century advertisements extolling the virtues of coffee, the branding for Jacob the Angel evokes the feeling of early British coffee houses that would go on to become time-honoured institutions. The name was inspired by the story of Jacob the Jew, a Lebanese immigrant who opened the first ever coffee house in England called The Angel Inn.
