DIGITAL DOWNLOAD: Enjoy using this gross motor game for student while participating in therapy sessions, classroom activities or while at home. These charts feature the option to use one die or two dice and act as a perfect opening activity, closing activity or movement break throughout the day. This activity requires no equipment (other than dice), so is a great tool for traveling therapists or teachers with limited space. Group therapy idea: Print multiple copies, and have students color in each box as it is completed. Group members can watch their friends preform various movements in a random order, but in the end all students complete the same movement patterns. Or, students can work as a group to color the entire paper. Over the course of several sessions, students can visibly see their hard work as the paper becomes a colorful rainbow of gross movement exercises!
Use this fortune teller craft to teach and practice coping strategies, which is a critical social emotional skill. Kids and young adults will identify their top coping strategies and write them on the fortune teller to practice and refer to, as needed. This craft includes a list of 100 unique coping strategies for kids and young adults to choose from. A space is included for kids and young adults to write in their own individualized strategies. Students can create their own coping strategies crafts or choose from any five pre-made fortune tellers. Extra colored versions are included. This means that you can skip the coloring if you choose. Just print and go! How to Use First, students will read about coping strategies and why they are important. Students will then identify their top coping strategies from the list or come up with them on their own. They will write those strategies in the printable. Students will color and decorate their fortune teller. After coloring and decorating, students will then cut out their fortune tellers and then use the directions to fold their craft together. Let students practice their coping strategies by playing with their fortune tellers in partners or groups. Encourage students to read each others’ coping strategies and even practice them, when appropriate. This can be a great activity in small groups to discuss strategies and identify what works best for each individual student.
