ABOUT THE ARTWORK Abstract faces print. Print created and sold at the Venezia exhibition (2018). Abstract faces by Raquel Yunta. I find it difficult to talk about my works, but after seeing the growing success of "Abstract faces" I guess I have to take a deep breath and drop a few lines about how it was born. I started it as I usually start all my works, that is drawing freely with my felt tip pen and markers. I was trying to convey the different feelings (or faces) that I was experimenting before the exhibition (Venice 2018). My purpose was to create something that I could use in the poster for the Venice exhibition. Dozens of drawings came out in just a few minutes. I left my drawings around and I forgot about them. A few days after, I was looking at them, I realized that this drawing "abstract faces" was able to change my mood, giving me a range of different feelings at the same time, so I took it, I cut it, and I developed it. I still feel the excitement, calm, exhaustion, readiness, vulnerability, strength, concentration, and distraction that I felt on those days every time I look at my Abstract Faces. It was very appreciated during the Venice exhibition so I decided to upload it here on Saatchi and make it available for prints. * Please note that Saatchiart is the only authorized platform where you will find my original work "Abstract faces" on sale. This small, black and white abstract drawing is the original artwork. I spent about 4 hours on this drawing adding intricate details. To me, some of the shapes look a little bit like stylised flowers. What I love about this style is that every time you look at the artwork, you see something in it that you didn’t see before. I pour my heart into my art and drawing takes me to a whole new universe. It's a privilege to be able to share it with others. This artwork is 6x4” (10x15cm) on 250gsm white paper. I like having small artworks in my house, they look beautiful and are easier to find the perfect spot for. Black and white art matches well with other home decor.
