Immerse yourself in the evocative rhythms and dynamic brushstrokes that epitomise this captivating print, inspired by the renowned Clachan Bridge on the Isle of Seil. Bold and unconstrained, the piece revels in the raw energy of Abstract Expressionism, inviting viewers on a sensory journey through its tumultuous and passionate depiction. Swatches of stark white and deep blue dominate the composition, reflecting a lively interplay of light and shadow on the water's surface. The fluidity of the medium mirrors the gentle ebb and flow of the river, with audacious strokes conveying the movement of the water as it courses beneath the steadfast bridge. The bridge itself—an architectural marvel and emblem of Scottish heritage—arches gracefully over the water. Its silhouette is rendered in a stark contrast of black and white, its traditional form abstracted into a dance of shapes and lines that seem to pulse with life. Around the structure, the natural elements of the Isle come to life with equally abstract forms. Jagged textures and contrasting hues conjure rugged landscapes, while hints of greenery and golden stone suggest the allure of the Scottish isles in their rawest form. Encased within the canvas, the dichotomies of stillness and motion, tradition and modernity, are harmonised. This unrivalled print is not simply a representation but an experience, one that captures the enigmatic spirit of one of Scotland's most beloved locales. Whether gracing a contemporary loft or adding character to a traditional study, the piece stands as a testament to the transcendent nature of the Scottish landscape and the enduring allure of its structures.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK The painting is inspired the American abstract expressionist movement of the 1950s and 60s, especially the works of Jackson Pollock. The painting shows the release of different emotions of an individual and reflects the different pathways these releases might take. Some emotions are easily released and these are shown by the more localised application of paint whereas others take a much more convoluted pathways indicated by the longer and thicker paint applications. Immerse yourself in the rugged beauty of Scotland's coast with this captivating print, where the wild Sea campion thrives against a backdrop of Cape Wrath's majestic cliffs. This evocative artwork encapsulates Abstract Expressionism, using bold brushstrokes to convey the untamed essence and vibrant contrasts native to this remote part of the British Isles. The foreground of the composition teems with life; delicate blossoms of the Sea campion dance in the breeze, interspersed with a tapestry of varied flora, depicted through an exuberant palette of greens, yellows, and splashes of red. These stand against a raw depiction of the Scottish landscape, where the lush grass gives way to powerful, stark cliff faces. In the mid-ground, a vivid expression of the ocean captures the dynamic movement of the waves as they crash against jagged rocks. The cool blues and turquoises of the sea contrast starkly with the warmth of the cliffs, rendered in fiery oranges and subtle pinks, evoking the unique light play that often graces this northern outpost. Here, the artist has masterfully balanced cool and warm tones, suggesting a harmony between the elements. The cliffs themselves rise as monumental forms, abstracted to capture their sheer scale and the weight of history they carry. Broad, confident strokes define their shape and the play of light across their surfaces, hinting at the fading light of the golden hour before dusk. Borrowing from the ethos of Abstract Expressionism, this print is less about the literal representation of a given landscape and more about the emotional resonance it stirs in the observer. It captures the raw, elemental power of Cape Wrath and the delicate, resilient beauty of its indigenous flora, inviting a deeper, more personal connection to nature's spectacle. Consider this print a statement piece for any space, bringing the immersive serenity and untamed grandeur of one of Scotland's most breathtaking vistas indoors. This print is a part of the 'Scottish Flowers and Flora' collection, celebrating the natural beauty unique to the Scottish highlands and islands.

Untitled Skull, 1981 Many of Jean-Michel Basquiat’s paintings are in some way autobiographical, and Untitled may be considered a form of self-portraiture. The skull here exists somewhere between life and death. The eyes are listless, the face is sunken in, and the head looks lobotomized and subdued. Yet there are wild

Capturing the essence of autumnal drama, this evocative print invites viewers into the rugged landscape of Glencoe, cloaked in the vivid tones of the season. The art captures the imagination with its palette of warm yellows, oranges, and fiery reds, intertwining with the cool greys and whites that hint at the onset of the chillier months. The abstract expressionist style of the piece is palpable in the dynamic brushstrokes that travel across the canvas creating a sense of movement and vitality. Bold, sweeping lines and blotches of colour suggest the rolling hills and sweeping vistas for which Glencoe is renowned, while careful splatters and drips conjure the reflection of the land on the water's surface, a mirror image distorted by the fluidity of the medium. There is a rhythm in the contrast between the roughly textured areas of paint and the smooth underlayers that showcase the depth and complexity of the landscape. The horizon is intentionally blurred, where the sky seems to merge with the earth in a dance of shapes and colours, allowing the viewer's eye to wander and explore the hinterland between the abstract and the figurative. This print offers more than a representation; it is an emotional response to the majestic Scottish Highlands during a season of transformation. It invites contemplation and introspection, standing as a testament to nature's enduring beauty and the power of art to convey it through an abstract lens. Each print is a tribute to the natural spectacle of Glencoe, envisioned through a kaleidoscope of colour and form. It serves as a captivating addition to any collection, ready to bring the essence of the Highlands into the space it inhabits.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK I was born in 1973, and my parents were farmers. In 1999, I got enrolled into an art college with a dream of becoming an artist. I am currently a father, a husband, and a painter. The duality and struggle between a domestic life of being a parent and spouse with a working life became a subject matter to my work. My work expresses conflicts and emotions aroused from distinct social roles through figurative subjects that ranges from models and cartoon characters, to gods. For each piece, I start with a simple drawing on a canvas of a chosen figure/ image. Then, I go into a constant exploration of constructing and deconstructing the image with obsessive amount of acrylics or oils to ease out my emotions. I adapt myself and live out the society through such actions. ABOUT THE ARTWORK Currently showing at Gallery Merrick in Victoria British Columbia maximalism - Did you know that some historians consider that the maximalist art movement of the 1970’s was driven by women? A feminist movement. Artists like Miriam Schapiro, Joyce Kozloff and Cynthia Carlson were rejecting the muted, minimal “high art” that was being shown In galleries made by, you guessed it - white men. Pattern and design were deemed crafty, relegated to women’s work. Still sounds familiar 50 years later. Immerse yourself in the vibrant hues and impassioned strokes of this captivating print, where the essence of the River Carron in Ross-shire is articulated through the fervour of expressionism. The artwork exudes a palpable energy, drawing in the observer to a world where colour and emotion intertwine seamlessly. The foreground is a tapestry of iridescent blues reflecting the sky, interspersed with bold, magenta flecks and earthy maroons that suggest vivid vegetation and the dynamic play of light on water. This rich palette flows into buttery yellows and soft ambers, depicting the riverbanks with an almost ethereal glow. A series of distinguished trees anchor the scene, their forms simplified yet filled with movement; their lush greens striking against a backdrop of golden fields. Further depth is lent to the composition by the contrast of brilliant brights and shadowy depths, crafting a picture of a river not merely as a geographic feature, but as a living, breathing entity. Billowing clouds streaked with whites and greys sweep across the expanse of the sky, conveying both the transitory nature of light and the timeless beauty of the Scottish highlands. This print is a poetic ode to the Scottish landscape, echoing the evocative beauty of the River Carron and the unspoilt panoramas of Ross-shire. A statement piece, this print offers not just a view, but an experience, inviting contemplation and a deep connection to the wild spirit of Scotland's natural environment. An enchanting addition to any space, it moves beyond mere representation to evoke the visceral sensations that are the hallmark of expressionist art.
