Nog een paar plaatjes om mee te knutselen!
I realized with all that's gone on over the past few weeks, I'm having a hard time remembering what projects I have and haven't posted yet. I had worked on so many projects for CHA before hand, but had put them aside because I wasn't able to share them yet. I took a trip back over my posts since the beginning of the year to make sure I wasn't posting something I had already posted. ha I'm pretty forgetful anyway, but with the way the past few weeks have gone, I'm really having trouble with it. This is a layout I did for the AccuCut booth for CHA, using AccuCut die S1013XLC , Prima paper, Crafty Secrets ( background stitching samples are from the "Sew Nice " Creative Scraps), and Stamps from "Sew Special" set of Clear Art Stamps from Crafty Secrets as well. I had forgotten about even doing this layout ... but I had to smile when I found the photo of it on my computer, because I remember that mom had gotten to see it :) She was about 15 in this picture. But I'm sure even then she was sewing. I have seen hand stitched projects she did when she was just a small girl. She did embroider..but she also made quilts and sewed ALOT of kids clothes.. I know that :) She made all the brides made dresses and my flower girl dress for my sister Jan's wedding also. Oh how I wish I had as much knowledge of sewing as she did. She was meticulous. Most of mine just happens on paper... and is pretty messy :( Such a cool die! See that stitched line that you can use to emboss it onto you page? I used it around the edge of my photo. ( you can see it in the photo above). Love it! I cut most of my pieces out of AccuCut Chipboard that I had adhered patterned paper too, but the dress form I left bare chipboard, and just inked it a bit. Ive been going threw moms box of old photos, scanning them and putting them on discs. Oh.. each one is a treasure. I love finding ones that I have not seen before. That's mom on the far left with her 4 H sheep. My Uncle Al next to her in the hat. And I found another one that I had not seen before.( below) Funny how I never realized until I was much older that I .. well... was probably not planned. lol I am the baby of 7 kids. Mom was almost 40 and Dad almost 50 when I came along. My oldest brother Gary was a Senior in High school at the time, and my Sisters Donna and Sharon where married.. starting families of their own. My next older sibling was my brother Dan who was 9 when I came along. My brother Ray was a few years older than him, and then my sis Jan who is 13 years older than I. Mom had just gone to work outside the home as a book keeper when they found out I was coming... so "surprise"! lol I guess we did what big families did back then... the kids had to help. My sister Jan took care of me and got me ready for school every morning, after mom left for work. ( she still looks after me btw :) . lol Everyone probably got stuck watching me after school. lol But .. planned or not... I always felt loved ! EDITED Okay... I had to come edit this.... The baby in the photo above is my niece ..not me. Here is me (below photo). Our dresses were so similar I thought it was the same babe.. but no. btw.. I still have that dress. I have times that I miss mom so much that tears come easily..but Really, as I take out these photos and look at them, more than making me sad, they have made me realize just how many people my mom touched in her life.. and how fully she lived it. She had the kindest heart of anyone I have ever know. A truly "good" person, who had a smile for everyone she met. If you have ever wondered what a few simple words could mean to someone when they are hurting.. know this..... they can mean ALOT. This note came in the mail yesterday from the lawn service man who took care of moms mowing in previous years. Us kids have talked many times about how mom touched so many lives and how she always had a smile and a kind work for everyone. This note meant so much. Thanks for letting me share Vic
