By Kellie Day in Art Tutorials > Painting Tutorials I’ve always been fascinated by encaustic art and the eerie, soft look it has. All those layers of wax are incredibly intriguing, and up until recently, were a complete mystery to me as to how they were created. Just to give you an example, here’s a close-in detail of an encaustic piece entitled Fire Divided by encaustic artist and teacher Shawna Moore. Amazing, isn’t it? So smoky and soft, and textured! For those […]
Fichier PDF

Hello, I'm back from my break, so am accepting commissions again :) =========================== Just like the examples I provided, I'll paint your budgie/budgies in one of three size options. Currently my size options are 9"x12", 7"x10", and 5"x7". Paint times take 3-4 weeks. Then shipping days 3-5 business days. What I'll need from you is a photograph of your pet budgie/budgies (I'm open to other animals too, but message me first!) that you would like the painting to be modeled after, and also let me know if there are other custom modifications you'd like such as a choice of background or text. I will be gently signing all my paintings. I do this for fun, as I LOVE budgies, I have two of my own, and painting them brings me great joy. However, I'd love to share the joy with others' - seeing their beloved budgie painted. ❤️

To compliment the installations she also created a number of glass and lead pieces you can see here. More
This week, 3rd grade started their Henri Rousseau & Cassie Stephens inspired tigers! Here's Mr. Rousseau's painting we're getting inspiration from! Tiger in a Tropical Storm Here's how we created ours! My first two 3rd grade classes painted a couple of sheets of orange painted paper, and then the rest of the classes were able to draw their tigers, and make some green painted paper for the rest of the project! We're going to be making a collage on blue or black paper, by creating these tigers on the orange paper, and leaves on the green paper. We'll also add a tail, so it looks like the tiger is peeking out of the leaves! Can't wait to see the finished results! Here they are painting paper! I love all the different types of texture they added! Mrs. Stephens has a great video on youtube, showing you exactly how to draw the tiger, and she talks about the elements of art used in this project! Here's the link Cassie Stephen's How to draw a tiger Mrs. Fambrough's class is doing a fabulous job!! Stay tuned for some awesome art!
