Highlights "Deeply romantic and breathtaking...readers will be swooning and flocking to Scotland long after they've turned the last page. Author(s): Alexandra Kiley 336 Pages Fiction + Literature Genres, Romance Description About the Book Globetrotter Addie Macrae always follows her wanderlust. As a travel consultant, she jet sets around the world--anywhere but Scotland. But when she's sent on assignment to help a struggling family-run tour company in the Highlands--and save her own job--Addie packs away her emotional baggage and turns on the professional charm. Rugged as the land he loves, Logan Sutherland's greatest joy is sharing the beauty of Scotland's hidden gems...even if it means a wee bit of red ink on the company's bottom line. The last thing Logan wants is some American "expert" pushing tourist traps and perpetuating myths about the Loch Ness Monster--especially when Addie never leaves her desk to experience the country for herself. As they wage an office war, Logan discovers Addie's secret connection to Scotland: a handful of faded Polaroids of her late mother. Hoping for a truce, he creates a private tour to the places in the pictures to help Addie find closure and appreciate the enchantment in less-traveled destinations, never expecting the off-limits attraction sparking between them. But Addie's contract is almost up, and magic won't pay the bills. They can't afford distractions, but how can Addie do her job if she hasn't explored all Scotland--and Logan--have to offer? I swooned and sighed with Addie and Logan each time they bantered on the tour bus or locked eyes in an ancient castle, and fanned myself every time they did so much as brush hands. Alexandra Kiley is a master not just at creating chemistry between her characters, but in crafting a world so lush and enchanting that it made me immediately want to book a flight to Scotland. I laughed, I cried, and I cheered Slainte!"--Amanda Elliot, author of Sadie on a Plate "Alexandra Kiley's debut is an enchanting, immersive vacation in book form. Made in Scotland, Lucky Tatties were a prized sweet for us kids back in the 60's. They were quite a size, solid white fondant covered in cinnamon powder. A bit more expensive than your average penny tray items, around threepence each, which meant you could be faced with a bit of a dilemma - do you buy 3 items from the penny tray or 1 Lucky Tattie?! What swayed the occasional Lucky Tattie purchase was that they had wee charms inside, usually a plastic animal or something like that, so they would be a long lasting sweet with a small reward for your efforts! My local sweet shop/newsagent, Stan's, sold them back then but I doubt if you'll be able to find them in your corner shop nowadays. I don't know when shops stopped selling them, but I can't recall ever buying any in the 70's, or anytime after. The good news is that there are specialist shops on the net you can buy them from, although they don't make them with the charms anymore.

Heidi is a warm & affectionate lass who spent much of her life on a farm in the stormy Scottish highlands, a stone’s throw from the mysterious waters of the Loch Ness. She loves baking oatcakes & buttery shortbread & staying warm. Fond as Heidi was of the lush green hills & moody atmosphere of Scotland, she always dreamed of retiring somewhere a wee bit sunnier. A farm in Australia was the perfect choice! Plus, Heidi was growing tired of her woolly-headed husband Henry’s lifelong obsession with trying to catch the Loch Ness Monster. She would forever be hearing his stubborn lowing coming from the banks of the loch at all hours of the night, hoping to draw out the famed ‘Nessie’ from the loch.
