I absolutely love this stamp set. It's from stampin Up: Zoo Globe I like it because the little zoo animals are adorable, and also I LOVE water globes, I use to have quite the collection. I actually posted a picture of them a few weeks ago. However, I did not use the water globe stamp this time. I CASE(d) this card with permission from a woman on instagram You can find Nina here. She is an amazing card artist. I never would have thought to stack the animals so cleverly. I think it's super cute. However I did make changes to the card so it would fit the challenge I'm playing with. The Paper Players Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Keep Smiling and Keep Stamping 💗PJ * Please stop in at my Etsy shop. You might just find a stamp or stamp set you NEED to purchase. Perhaps even a card. I know I'd greatly appreciate the sales. Plus I've recently just added more items. So make sure to check it out. 😊

Masculine Theme with World of Good Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the September 2020 Art with Heart Creative Showcase. This month we are focusing on projects suitable to give fellas. I have created a card using Stampin' Up!s gorgeous World of Good Suite. I have had an idea floating around my brain ever since I first saw this Suite, so I'm delighted to try it out for this Creative Showcase. As I created this card, I also had a special guy in mind who will be celebrating his birthday soon. He is someone who has spent much of his life helping others. I've been wanting to create a spinner card, that is to have part of the design spin when the card is opened. In this case it is the "world". I don't know about you, but at times I am feeling that the world is spinning too fast. We are in strange times... A friend helped me take a video to help you see the card when it opens. I was crafting with friends - one in person and our other friend online; but needed to leave before this card was finished, so you may notice that there were no gems on the card in the video. The World of Good Suite includes beautiful World of Good Speciality Designer Series Paper (SDSP), with a number of the designs having brass highlights. The sheet I chose has brass consecutive circles on a Misty Moonlight design. I cut the SDSP so that the centre of the circles would be in the middle of the card front ... and then I die cut a circle in the centre! How did this card come together ...? A card base of Misty Moonlight card-stock (normal portrait size card in Australia) was scored in half and then the front was scored in half again. The World of Good SDSP sheet was cut so that one piece would fit the top front. The second piece - the same size as the first, was cut for the inner front. A third piece was to fit the bottom half of the card. Care was taken to ensure the pieces were kept in order so the circles continued on. Two very thin strips of Brass Foil card-stock were adhered to the beginning and end of the SDSP on the card. A circle was cut from the centre of the front of the card using a circle die from the Stitched Shapes dies. Two of the circular dies were used to cut two metallic round frames and the small pedestal out of the Brass Metallic card-stock. Half of the pedestal and one side of a round frame were adhered around the circular hole on the top folded section, that is, half was adhered directly, the other half hung over and across the card. To create the world, a piece of Shimmery White card-stock was water-coloured with Seaside Spray, Pretty Peacock and Highland Heather Classic ink and the mid-size Water Painter. While the water-coloured card-stock was drying, the two world dies from the World Map dies were used to cut two spheres of the world out of Brass Metallic card-stock. I was excited when I first saw this die set - it was great to see Australia represented. Once the water-coloured piece was dry, two circles were die cut. This circle die was included in the World Map dies. Each metallic world sphere was adhered to a watercolour circle. I wanted to use a fine thread that wouldn't dominate the design as the structural thread to suspend the world in space. I couldn't find a clear sewing thread (used many years ago) but found some retired Stampin' Up! Copper Thread. This was centred across the back of one of the world spheres and the other sphere adhered over it so the thread was completely stuck through the centre. The metallic thread was then adhered along the fold at the back of the card front. Another piece of SDSP then was adhered to the back of the card front, to ensure the thread was firmly attached and all card surfaces were decorated. The second metallic frame was adhered at the edge of the hole. I usually add a sentiment on the card front. I tried numerous approaches, including gold heat embossing on Misty Moonlight card-stock; water-colouring more Shimmery White card-stock and either stamping or heat embossing on it; using a label or fussy cutting the sentiment, different size sentiments, etc. Nothing seemed to work - it just detracted from the SDSP design and that sense of outer space around our world. Yet I kept looking at the front of the card - it needed something. To finish the card a number of Wonderful Gems were scattered over the outer space to represent stars and planets and add a little sparkle. These embellishments are so delightful. A pack includes gems in both red and clear, with little specks of gold floating within the gems. Delicious. A piece of Whisper White card-stock was stamped with a sentiment from the Beautiful World stamp set and the feather pen was added to the corner - all stamped in Misty Moonlight Classic ink. The feather pen was also stamped on a Whisper White C6 Envelope to tie it in with the card. I had fun creating this card, even though it didn't just fall into place. There was a bit of nutting out how to create the effect that I wanted to achieve. Must admit, I was excited to see my world spinning around and practiced a number of times - only to find that the thread seemed to pull/stretch and my world started to fall - it was no longer centred in its space. It took a bit of fiddling to return it to its right position. Obviously, I'm no Atlas (ie the Greek god, Atlas). Thank you for visiting Valley Inspirations. I really appreciate you spending time on my blog. I am so blessed to be apart of such a talented team. Knowing each of my colleagues in this Creative Showcase, I am sure that they have some amazing projects to share with you. Don't miss checking out each of their blogs. I made this card for the challenge at: CAS(E) This Sketch The stamp sets featured in this card are: Stampin Up: Zoo Globe Stampin Up: From All of Us I think the little zoo animals stacked perfectly for this card. It was quite relaxing to make. Just simple stamping and some fussy cutting. So much going on in my own little world, so it was nice to go to my happy place and make a card. I have an MRI this week for my brain. So I'm in knots over that. We also have a bit of traveling in the plans this weekend. We will be driving, kids will be flying. Just a lot going on. I would sure appreciate prayers for us all. Thank you. I'm including a picture of one of the calendars I'd made for my Etsy shop. Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Keep Smiling and Keep Stamping 💗PJ * Please stop in at my Etsy shop. You might just find a stamp or stamp set you NEED to purchase. Perhaps even a card. I know I'd greatly appreciate the sales. I received this beautiful Christmas card from Roxann; who is one of my Flowerbug's Team members. She used the Still Scenes bundle on page 43 of the 2019 Holiday catalog. Her colors are Navy, Silver and White. The embossing folder is no longer available; it was called Softly Falling and retired in May, 2019. The shaker dome she used is still available right now in a 10 pack for $6. They're 3" X 2 5/8 and 1/4" high. See those...

#stampinup Do you ever have days or weeks when the time just gets away from you? For some reason, I've been feeling that way a lot this year! It may be because I've changed my schedule and I'm getting up earlier so my son can practice driving to high school....and I'm NOT going to bed any earlier. You'd think I'd feel like I have more time, but it's not quite working out that way. My dad used to say that your expenses expand the more money you make...whenever I thought that if I just got a raise I could save some money. I think time must work that way too--I'm awake for a longer period of time, but I'm still filling almost every waking hour (well, sometimes I fill those "waking" hours with a nap or some mindless TV). Anyway, I meant to play along in last week's Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge. I even made a card for it. But I didn't get it posted in time for the deadline. Whatever. It's still an awesome sketch and I really like how my card turned out. And I hope my blog followers will still be inspired by it!! It's an awesome sketch, too! I've mentioned before that I really love the Going Places suite in the Occasions catalog. I love the stamp set, the coordinating World Traveler Embossing Folder, and the papers in the Going Places 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Stack. I thought this sketch would be a great way to showcase how perfectly everything goes together. I started by embossing a Delightful Dijon panel with the World Traveler Embossing Folder. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to add this to a Mossy Meadow card base. Next, I added a 1.5" strip of Mossy Meadow grid paper from the Going Places DSP stack, set off by two 1/4" strips from the same DSP stack. I used snail adhesive for the 1/4" strips. I laid them on a scrap of card stock, ran the snail along their length and peeled them off and applied them to the card like stickers. Finally, I stamped the globe and "you are my greatest adventure" heart in Mossy Meadow onto Very Vanilla. I punched the globe with the 2" Circle Punch and the heart with the Sweetheart Punch. I adhered these elements to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I really like how this simple card turned out--the layout is wonderful and I love the textures from the embossing and the DSP! tams# 6089 Product List Going Global Clear-Mount Stamp Set [140748] $19.00 Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pad [133645] $6.50 Mossy Meadow 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [133676] $7.00 Delightful Dijon 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [138338] $7.00 Very Vanilla 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [101650] $8.50 Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack [140581] $8.00 World Traveler Textured Impressions Embossing Folder [138289] $7.50 2" Circle Punch [133782] $18.00 Sweetheart Punch [133786] $16.00 Stampin' Dimensionals [104430] $4.00 SNAIL Permanent Adhesive [104332] $7.00

I don't usually do a fun or fancy fold card on Friday as I leave that up to my teammate, Karen K. But today I just have to welcome you to my farewell fancy fold card because I'm playing at Inspire.Create.Challenges #073 Theme. and at The Paper Players: PP498 - Fun or Fancy Fold Theme Challenge by Ann. There is a couple at the Celtic Ray who are moving from Punta Gorda to the east coast of Florida and this card is for them. I used the Beautiful World Stamp Set, Old World Dies, and the coordinating Old World Specialty Designer Series Paper for my card. Pay close attention to the bottom part of the DSP :-) Why, yes...Punta Gorda and the east coast of Florida. How perfect is that! ....and the sentiment couldn't be more perfect for the challenge at As You See It #229. Although it doesn't speak of vacation inside, I feel it does outside. They are going on vacation after their move and it's to Key West! Now, I did not come up with this fancy fold on my own. It was the idea of Glenda Calkins, another Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. So, I decided to CASE her card. I know there are other videos out there of a similar fold but hers is differently constructed. This is an overhead shot of how the fold looks. and here is how it looks when it is opened... It was quite easy to create and you can watch Glenda's video if my instructions aren't clear enough. Very Vanilla Card base (referred to as "solid": 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4" DSP Mat: 5 1/4" x 4" Adhere together with liquid glue BUT don't put glue in the center where you'll be cutting out the square! Cut square out of card front with largest Layering Squares Die. This gives you two separate pieces...solid and DSP. Take the DSP square and use the circle die from the Old World Dies set to create the under piece for the globe which is cut with another die from the set. Take the solid square and cut it with the next to largest die. Take the largest die and cut another square of another solid color. Adhere these two squares together with liquid glue. Cut the globe and base out of Brass Foil with dies from Old World. Adhere the globe to the DSP circle. Adhere the globe base to the square piece and adhere the globe with Dimensionals. Stamp sentiment on scrap and punch with Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Add three metallic pearls. Wait to adhere sentiment to front with Dimensionals after you have the inside done. Now for the inside refresher... Take a piece of solid card stock 5" x 8" and score at 2", 4" and 6". Stamp the sentiment on the last 2" panel. Stamp the ink well and quill pen on scrap and die cut with Old World Dies. Fold the score lines so that it looks like the photo. Adhere the back fold to the card base with liquid glue. Make sure the left side lines up with the back of the card front when laying flat. Put liquid glue on the left edge just enough to secure it without any glue showing through the window. With the card closed, put glue on the right hand side of the square and place your globe square inside the opening. Wait a few minutes before opening the card. Once you are sure everything is moving correctly, adhere the quill with liquid glue and the inkwell with a Dimensional. Let me know if you try this and if my directions were successful in helping you. The stamp set and dies bundle has been my favorite for a number of days, along with the DSP. There is so much you can do with it. Because of that, I'm going to enter my card in the challenge at Stamping Pals #5 for July. Thank you for stopping by today and, as always, I appreciate your comments. It's Blog Hop Day! Welcome TO the Trip Achievers Blog Hop! Each month my friends from around the Globe and I bring you projects made with current Stampin' Up! products. We hope to inspire and delight you with what we came up with. Click on all the names near the bottom of the post and you will be taken to their blogs to check out their projects. This month I'm sharing one of THE easiest layouts you can use. This first one is actually the most "stepped up" version, simply because I embossed both layers. Scroll through all the photos to see some variations. I used the Inspirational Sketches stamp set that is in the J-A Mini Catalogue. It's a lovely little set that I have now officially used more than any other so far this catalogue. Why? I LOVE the images! At first I feared I wouldn't use it because it would be a pain to colour ... then I realized it didn't HAVE to be coloured! Check this out ... See? The images are sketch images. (The clue is in the stamp set title, Tamara! Sheesh!) To me, "sketch" means pencil art. Pencils are gray .. so why not stamp them in gray and be done?? You absolutely CAN! In fact, lower down you will see I stamped a note card just on the card base - NO LAYERS! Added a sentiment and some embellishments and DONE! The one above and the next few (as I said) are the "hardest" versions ... but they aren't HARD at all - I simply ran the top layer through and embossing folder after I had stamped it! This is an easy way to make a card LOOK fancier without much added work. You are simply adding texture, which "softens" all the white space on the card base. I fussy cut the sentiment, added twine and sequins, ran the gray layer through the embossing folder, and popped the whole thing up on dimensionals! SO quick and easy! Check out these next two cards. They are made the same way, but these ones don't have the gray layer run through the embossing folder, making them just as lovely but a bit quicker to pull together. This one is made with the "Next Destination" set and Pebbled Path products ... The next two cards are easier still, as the top layer ISN'T run through the embossing folder. This is the perfect card for a beginner stamper or one who is short on time. This one is simply done on a note card. SO quick. SO cute! Here they all are in the four different stages of "difficulty". Note card, no embossing, top layer embossed and both layers embossed. I think this stamp set is one that can easily be overlooked but once you see how quick it can be to use and how lovely the cards turn out you will want it! Used other sentiments (I used Layer Leaves set) to increase the versatility of the set. These images are great for most occasions! Sympathy, Thinking Of You, Birthday, Just Because, Get Well ... Get it! You won't regret it! I showed my viewers how to put make this card during my Monday night live this week. You can watch the replay here: If you would like to join me LIVE for my MCM (Mystery Card Monday) sessions, you can catch me on my FaceBook Page here at 7:00 pm Mountain Time every Monday ... or on my YouTube Channel here at the same time (I stream live to both). Like and Follow my FB Page and/or Subscribe to my YouTube Channel. I'd love to have you - the live community is AMAZING and so much fun! Hello again friends, I have another sneak peek today, using 2 products from the Dandy Garden Suite (#155981). I chose this set today as I was looking out my window this morning and I couldn’t believe the number of dragonflies flying around the garden. I stamped the flowers from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set (#c154411) using Tuxedo Black Memento ink (#132708). This was stamped onto a card front from the Dandy Laser-Cut Paper (#154300). I coloured the image with Stampin’ Blends - Highland Heather (#154887), Granny Apple Green (#154885), Daffodil Delight (#154883) and Poppy Parade (#154958). The cardfront was attached to the Highland Heather card (# 147010), then I wrapped the 3/8” Tricolor Ribbon (#149708) around these 2 cards. This was attached to the Whisper White base card (#106549). The sentiment is also from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set and stamped with Highland Heather ink (#147103). I cut this with the Messages die (#154422). This is a large die with various shaped cutouts. There is also a co-ordinating stamp set for this die, but I find that many sentiments can be cut with this die. I used the Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (#144108) to attach the sentiment to the card. The dragonfly is also from the Dandy Laser-Cut Paper. I daubered Smokey Slate ink (#147113) on the wings and Black Memento ink on the body, then added glitter using the Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush (#141897). This was glued to the card with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen (#138309). The Pastel Pearls (#154571) were added to the card. I am going to have a week or so off as it’s a busy time of the year with getting together with (some) family & friends. So I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I should be back before the New Year. Stay safe, relax and hopefully you can catch up with family & friends too. “Love what you do and share what you love.” lesleyjendra.stampinup.net [email protected]
Hello again everyone, thank you for stopping by. I have another dimensional card today for Paper Rose Studio, as one of the themes this month was to create a card using a fun fold. And this is a fun fold! Supplies used: Enchanting Christmas Embossed Die Cuts 30989, Pinecone Border Metal Cutting Die 26083, Crisp Christmas A5 12pc Sentiment Sheets 19772. Other supplies: Ranger Alcohol inks in Villainous, Celestial, Patina and Cool Peri, laminating sheet, acetate, white acrylic paint, 110# or 120# cardstock. This card design is another one that was designed by Sarah Trebilcock, and I have again modified her design to be a little simpler and smaller so that it will fit into an A7 (5 1/4
WATERCOLOR WORLD WOW Sharing some "wow" cards I created with the Stampin' Up! Watercolor World stamp set and Brights Stampin' Write Markers. Add an arrow from the Give It a Whirl dies to point to a specific location. How fun to give to a loved one traveling, maybe going on a mission trip, studying abroad, special vacation, etc. Which of these designs do you like the best? My original card was inspired by Linda Dalke. Check out the short video below.
Hi Stampers! I wanted to create another card using the new stamp, Traveler along with our new Typeset Designer Series Paper (DSP) for the Seize the Birthday "Anything Goes with No Topping" Challenge along with the Splitcoaststampers WT483 “Swing in the Hammock” Challenge :-) I hope that you will have a chance to visit both sites- so many ideas and inspiration!! To create this card: Ink the images from the stamp set Traveler using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Add a few shadows using the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker and a bit of distressing with the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge and Sahara Sand Classic Ink. Punch the suitcase, journal and camera images out using the 1 3/8” Square Punch and trim the globe using the Paper Trimmer. Mount onto Basic Black cardstock and trim the frames around the images. Use a Sponge Dauber to apply a bit of Sahara Sand Classic Ink over the images (to help tone the Very Vanilla cardstock). Ink the Postively Chevron background stamp using Sahara Sand Classic Ink and lay the piece of Typeset DSP over the inked stamp. Lightly apply pressure in a random pattern over the paper. Ink the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Sahara Sand and Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp repeatedly to the background to add a bit of distressing. Use the Distressing Tool to distress the edges and use the Sponge Dauber to apply Sahara Sand Classic Ink and mount this layer onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock. Add the vertical panels of Very Vanilla cardstock (layered onto Basic Black cardstock and distressed with the Gorgeous Grunge splatter stamp using Sahara Sand Classic Ink). Adhere the strands of 1 ¼” Burlap Ribbon (the burlap was pulled apart for another post here and these were a few of the leftover strands- again, love using my scraps)! Add the mounted suitcase, camera and journal images around the perimeter of the globe image (the globe is mounted using Stampin’ Dimensionals®. Stamp the sentiment from Starburst Sayings using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Use the Big Shot™ with the Starburst Framelits™ to cut around the sentiment and also cut a starburst from Basic Black cardstock using the same size framelit™. Split the Basic Black layer into two and adhere behind the sentiment allowing a bit of the frame to “peek” out at the top and bottom. Mount the sentiment to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals®. Adhere the entire panel onto a piece of Baked Brown Sugar cardstock and mount onto the Basic Black card base to finish off the card. Stamp Sets: Traveler, Gorgeous Grunge, Positively Chevron, Starburst Sayings Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink , Sahara Sand Paper/Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Baked Brown Sugar, Basic Black, Typeset DSP Accessories: Big Shot™, Starburst Framelits™, 1 3/8” Square Punch, 1 ¼” Burlap Ribbon (pulled apart and only use a few strands), Distressing Tool Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a fabulous Friday!

You know me, I love the clean and simple (CAS) look and it goes so well with cute children's cards. But it's not always as easy as you think to get the balance right. Today I'm going to take you through some steps to help you learn how you can make clean and simple cards too. Starting Point I start with a stamp set and work from there. It helps me visualise a design on the page. But sometimes nothing comes to mind and so I turn to Pinterest for some inspiration (thanks to Melissa Stout for her gorgeous designs!). That's what I did for these cards you see here using the Zoo Globe set (it's a fun set - keep reading to see an image). Learning from CASEing In this case I CASEd (Copy and Share Everything) the cards exactly and the process of that taught me a few things. Firstly that in the giraffe & koala card that a CAS card can have a "busy" focal point. Here the smaller card she has placed into the design is the focal point - your eye is drawn toward that and that only and the rest of the card is blank. The border frames it all and lifts that smaller white frame. Secondly that a sentiment strip which runs across the page from edge to edge (in this case the smaller card edges) and which cuts the focal picture in two is actually a great way of tying elements together rather than pushing them apart! More lessons learnt The next card of hers taught me that the white embossing on the black cardstock looks fantastic on an all white CAS card. The sentiment becomes a real stand out element of the focal point. It also taught me that when using a small thing in the middle of the page that is a neutral tone, like this little elephant, that the addition of colour will help lift the whole focal point of the card and really make it pop. Applying lessons learnt Next I took what I had learnt from my CASEing exercise and applied them to cards using the Moving Along stamp set (see further down for image) which I thought could offer me a similar look but something that was my own too. My 1st Card - Tips Keeps the single focal point of the elephant card but with an image that is a single block of colour. The train tracks underneath the engine help anchor the focal point. The puffs of smoke provide the perfect framing for the sentiment piece to nestle into the image. My 2nd Card - Tips Using the sentiment strip idea from the giraffe & koala card I used it to ground the focal point of the helicopter. Stamping on the clouds and little "woosh" lines behind the raised helicopter gives the feel that it really is flying. The blue of the clouds also softens the black and makes it less dominant on the page. My 3rd Card (the toughest to design) - Tips My final card posed me the greatest difficulty. I tried a number of different designs before coming up with this one. What I thought would work didn't look right. The stamp set contains a road stamp which I was trying to incorporate, but it was only when I realised that it provided too much block colour (even if that was a neutral tone) that was competing on the page with the car and the black border, that I new I had to ditch it, and use the sentiment strip as a replacement.
