As summer heats up today I am sharing a cool card using Freezin' Fun by Stampin' Up!. A fun winter theme card you can use in preparation for the you know what season ... whispers ..Christmas.. without using santas and reindeer in August. A fun and easy card to make. The snowy background is simple ink blending over a hand cut wavy stencil just cut from scrap card. The cute characters are coloured with Stampin' Blends to make those colours pop. The Blends really are vibrant and smooth to use. I have a fun and fast step by step tutorial for this card if you wish to try it simply click the video link below. Happy stamping xxx Amanda

Hi There! I hope your week is off to a great start! I'm sharing another Christmas Card today for the new card sketch over at The Spot Challenge Blog! Do you ever look at a sketch and immediately know what you want to use on it? Well I do sometimes and definitely did on this sketch.. Stampin' Up!'s new Freezin' Fun Bundle is perfect! So today I learned some things. The first thing I learned was that I do much better watercoloring animals than I do using my Stampin' Blends. It just seems a lot easier for me to get contrast, shadows and color variation using a Water Painter and ink. It's so easy to just smoosh a little link on an acrylic block and start painting. For the lighter areas, I just dilute the ink more with water and for the darker areas, I use it more at full strength. The 2nd thing I learned.. always use watercolor paper when watercoloring. lol So I did use watercolor paper when I stamped the animals so there was no issue with that. I did a little shadowing under the trees with my Water Painter and Balmy Blue Ink and that worked out ok but the sky.. ugh! I had regular Whisper White cardstock layered over Thick Whisper White and tried to softly add some blue which turned into a big mess. I was able to cut another piece of watercolor paper and do a light wash in Balmy Blue and then dry it and tuck it under the hill. Quite the operation but I got it done! I love Stampin' Up!'s Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.. it is great quality! And the new Water Painters are awesome! They come in a set of three for just $12! Such a great value! OH MY GOODNESS... can you even stand the cuteness factor of this Freezin Fun slimline card!? I needed a few hours of coloring time, so I grabbed the Freezin Fun set, stamped a whole sheet of images with my Memento black pad, and started to color with my Stampin' Blends markers!! I had the best time! Then I started to die cut the images, but first, I applied Foam Adhesive Sheets to the back of the colored images, and then die cut them with my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine! This is so amazing! Using the Foam Adhesive
This Freezin Fun Skiing Bunny Card has a 3D effect — the ski slopes look lifted off from the card! Send this with a warm note to a friend!
I couldn't stop with the Freezin Fun cuteness a couple days ago (see THIS post), so I kept coloring, die cutting and making cards! I created a few Freezin Fun cards with the Snowflake Splendor designer paper to share with you today! An added final touch that really makes this card sparkle is the adhesive-backed snowflakes! They are perfect for making this snowy scene sparkle! As mentioned in the post on Wednesday, die cutting your cute images WITH the Foam Adhesive Sheets on the back is amazing. It gives the popped up images so much depth and makes

I have a super cute card to share today!!! Last week I spent a lot of time coloring the adorable images from the Freezin' Fun Set. This week I'm making adorable cards! First up is this super cute slider card. Slider cards are so much fun to make and not at all confusing. Just follow the steps and you'll have lots of success! I used the snow bank die in the bundle to make my slider track but you can use anything to make your track, including just a craft knife or paper cutter. Just make sure your track is at least 1/4"-1/2" wide. I used a penny to make my slider move in the video. Be aware though that pennies add weight to your card. If you plan on mailing it that might be an issue. Other things you can use is a thin washer or even stacked pieces of cardstock. For the Highland Heather card in my video I used five 1" squares adhered to each other instead of a penny. It works too. The penny slides better because of the weight so you choose what is best for you and your needs. Check out the video below for all the details on how to make this cute card!! Hi Stampin' Friends! I have to admit, I've had a smile on my face and joy in my heart the whole time I played with my latest featured stamp set, the Freezin' Fun bundle! I'm not always a big fan of cutesy or whimsy styles but these were so fun to play with. It wasn't hard at all to suspend reality and imagine a rabbit skiing, a raccoon sledding and a seal snowboarding! Why not? They deserve to have some winter fun too! Ready to see some really cute ideas? Here ya go! One of the first things you have to settle on with a design is your color scheme. I went several different directions with this bundle, the first example being somewhat predictable. Blues and greens are perfect for winter, snowy cards and I grabbed Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray and Mint Macaron for my colors this time. What a great color combination! I used our Stampin' Blends alcohol markers on all of these cards as they are my coloring tool of choice. I used the stitched die included in the bundle to create my snowy hills and also embossed my background with our snowflake embossing folder. Those cute little snowflakes are adhesive, iridescent doodads that sparkle all the time! This card features my favorite piece of paper from the "Feels Like Frost" Designer Series Pack. I love the purple tones and had a lot of fun with these two cute critters! Highland Heather is the perfect purple! Who can't help by smile with glee at these seals?!! They are having a blast snowboarding on that gorgeous white glimmer paper snow. I used some of the "Snowflake Splendor" DSP and chose the green/blue colors of Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay for my color scheme. I also did a video showing how I colored the seals with only 3 different Blends markers, trying to make them each look unique. Check it out here: I decided for my last card it would be fun to get more "girly" and go for pink - pink plaid and Melon Mambo all the way! This plaid paper is adorable and obviously, these guys are having a blast. I used the upcoming "Curvy Celebrations" die for my snow hills and featured pinks and light blues for my color theme. I would love for you to have some fun with this set! You can see it all in the online store by clicking on my supply list below and get started on your own fun. This will be great for a whole winter season of whimsy and charm. Thanks for joining me! I love showing you what I'm up to and sharing what I love. I would love to help you jump into your own stamping adventures! Happy Stampin'! Sarah
