Welcome to Ready Set Demo Well I am just back from Dortmund, Germany and an amazing OnStage Live. I got to spend time with demo friends old and new, and it made my heart happy to hear about how my classes and tips have helped the businesses of demos around the world. One of the new product highlights for me is the All Dressed Up bundle - especially the dies. Our demo presenter was the lovely Fannie Minnie from Austria. She didn't have the time to actually put together a bag however, so I have made a video to help you skip some of the learning curve and make some stunning projects with these dies first time out of the pack. The video below shows lots of tips and tricks to create your bags and I can't wait to play more and find out how else I can use them. I am also doing a little happy dance as my with-product classes have rocked me up to no. 7 for UK sales and no. 19 overall - not bad for a face to face business! I will be back in the new year with some Ready to Teach classes and with-product classes to help you with your business. Wow! what a week it was in Rotterdam at OnStage. It was just wonderful to visit the sites, try the food and spend time with friends from around the world!
Greetings! I'm a bit late in writing this post, as my technology has been giving me fits! Hopefully I've gotten it under control and can get my blogging back on track now. I attended my first Stampin' Up OnStage earlier this month and all I can say is, WOWZA! It was so much fun, and all the education and inspiration was amazing. Six thousand plus demonstrators from all over the world came together in Orlando to share stories, celebrate achievements and trade ideas. I want to share some of the gorgeous swaps I received so you can be inspired too! This beauty combines the Alpine Adventures stamp set with the Pretty Pines Thinlits & the Cable Knit Embossing Folder. This Z-Fold card uses Spirited Snowmen, the Large Letters Framelits, and the Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder. Love the color combination of Pool Party & Real Red! This one was created my my friend and team member Laura Malanowski. This is a notebook cover using the Spirited Snowmen. Colors are Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate & Shaded Spruce. The beautiful coloring is accented with Wink of Stella. Yet another idea using the Spirited Snowmen! I love the interesting sketch using a trio of ovals. How beautiful is this?! The stamp set is Still Night and the background is embossed with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder. Colors are Night of Navy and Galvanized Metallic. Dashing Deer in Cherry Cobbler & Gray Granite. The DSP is Festive Farmhouse. The "Joy" and snowflakes are from the limited-time Snow is Glistening stamp set. This one is so sparkly! The stamp set is Making Christmas Bright. The background is embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder. The bulbs are cut from Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper (Copper, Merry Merlot & Tranquil Tide) Here's another lovely card that uses the limited-time Snowfall Thinlits & Snow is Glistening stamp set. Such a creative way to use the sunflower stamp from Painted Harvest! This simple, lovely card uses the Softly Falling Embossing Folder and the Sheltering Tree & I'll Be Home stamp sets. What an incredible day! We met so many wonderful demonstrators today! We made 260 swaps that we took along with us four our Meet and Swap. SPOILER ALERT/ SNEAK PEEK of New Product Now I'm not one for publishing new product too far ahead of a new catalogue launch, but this seems different and will be a one off. A while back, I was asked if I would be willing to do a Product Presentation at last weekend's OnStage Live event in Amsterdam, a secret that I've been hiding for a while. I felt so honoured and excited to have been invited, but none more so than when I saw the email of what products I'd be presenting. Goodness me I was a lucky girl. The Suite was just adorable and I couldn't wait for it to arrive to get playing. I studied the papers a while, I researched and got playing and discreetly transported out my creations, managing to keep the entire presentation a secret from my team until we were checking in our suitcases at the airport. I didn't want the girls to think me twitchy, if suddenly I needed to open my case to lessen it's weight or appear overly anxious if my case didn't arrive. On the day of my presentation, I met our lovely CEO, Sara Douglass, just moments before I went live. Eager to sit in on a Presentation, she chose to come and sit in on mine. I was both delighted and nervous all in one. Not just a presentation to our European market, many of whom I look up to, but to our very own VIP Sara Douglass. Thankfully I pulled my presentation off without fault. What a fabulous experience! I had just 10 minutes to present to nearly 200 experienced Demonstrators at a time. As if once wasn't enough, I had to repeat my presentation three times over, with my first presentation being to a Dutch market, fully translated. The Product Suite that I had to work with, was this nostalgic, retro style Birthday Memories suite. Oh my word, I nearly fell off my seat when I saw it. Those papers! That Stamp Set! Could I do it justice? Following my initial excitement, the panic set in. My style doesn't usually involve such bold colours, so how would I be true to myself and come up with something I felt happy to present? ... by presenting a Party in a Box ... Yes, generate a Party. This sheet of paper had to be used in it's entirety to showcase the beautiful scene, so the Party in a Box was a must. The gift box could be used afterwards, but initially housed a stack of Birthday Invites, Cupcake Toppers and Cupcake/Treat bags. I made the decision to couple the set up with the Confetti Celebration Stamp Set to create this Surprise Birthday Invitation. I thought this worked really well. The little flag banners attached to cocktail sticks made great cupcake toppers. I simply embellished a Petite Cafe food safe bag to house the treats or cupcake that the child would go home with. This project lead to something a little more my colour palate. As the colours toned down somewhat, I started to feel more in my comfort zone. Here I created a Box Frame Gift idea for a little boy. Perhaps for a 1st Birthday? I just loved the simplicity of this Box Frame and the Honeycomb Balloons and couldn't resist but couple it with a card that offered such fun. This suite offers Framelits to die cut many of the gorgeous images and characters in the Designer Series Papers, so I die cut the fox and fussy cut the Racoon and Turtle to produce this cute card. I just love the font of this Birthday sentiment. I was feeling happier now that I had started to produce something a little less vibrant, but felt I needed to cover the softer female palate. When I first saw the Pink Papers of this suite, I immediately thought of my Auntie's picture hanging on her wall. It was an Illustration by the Famous British Illustrator, Mabel Lucie Attwell. Researching her work and the era in which she worked, it became clear that large numbers on Birthday cards were very much the norm and that both bold colours, but equally soft muted colours were often seen. This lead me to designing this card ... which soon became my favourite. Isn't she cute?! Stamped onto Crumb Cake cardstock, I then used the super soft Watercolour pencils to add a wash of colour around her and to colour in the balloons. The ribbon from the suite edged the sentiment panel to pull in the colour of the number balloon. Still wanting to produce something femininely pink and girlie, I moved on to designing these two cards. I used the floral bouquet to edge the white cardstock to add a kind of vintage look to the card. Finally the Make & Take that everyone had supplies to make, involved die cutting the fox and his banner, to create this great celebratory card. Can you tell that I absolutely love this suite now and I do believe you will do too. It is impossible to convey how wonderful and overwhelming the Onstage Event for StampinUp! was! What an amazing time we had! I will do my best to share some of my favourite moments with you.... and if you are a demonstrator and you weren't there, I would be making absolutely sure that I don't miss the next one! It is one of the best perks of being a demonstrator. We receive so much information at these events that it is impossible to walk away with nothing. Not to mention the gifts we receive of course. But for me, the information is invaluable.... I always come away with a head buzzing full of ideas, and renewed inspiration and motivation..... and thats exactly what you want from a company event in my opinion. To begin, Onstage is a demonstrator-only event, and SU holds them every 6 months. Because there are 3 main markets (North America, Europe and South Pacific) the main 3 day live events are rotated around between the markets. That means we get to host one here in Australia every 18 months. Last week was our turn to host in Brisbane, and so we headed up there last Thursday. The other markets that don't have the 3 day event hold a one day event - not quite the same but still fantastic. We got to find out that our next 1 day local event will be held in Sydney, Perth and Auckland... hoping I'll get to see lots of my girls in Sydney next April! The main focus of these events is training, new product releases and recognition. We got to see the new Occasions catalogue and Sale-a-Bration catalogues that will be released to customers on the 4th January.... but even better we got to play with the products and make some lovely projects. My mind immediately goes into planning mode and I already have some fantastic class ideas that I will be scheduling for you in the new year with new products. See all the little coloured flags on my new catalogue? Yep.... thats just the first stuff that I HAVE to have. The catalogue is going to be a hot item and I cant wait to show it to you! Here are a few of the projects that we got to make..... This is the Falling in Love suite with soft romantic colours. This DSP is from our SAB offering and its coloured with our NEW WATERCOLOR PENCILS! So excited about these..... cant wait to show you them! (And yes there will be a class!) This is a card that Shelli demonstrated for us... and yes the background is also created with the Watercolour Pencils! Aren't they beautiful? And that dragonfly is to die for! It's a whole bundle of dragonfly stamps and framelits! And how cute are these Mini Egg Cartons!? These have been coloured and then the tag added. Sara demonstrated for us how to get this awesome part-embossed look! This is just a FRACTION of the projects that we either created or saw created... it really was a creative storm! But then we also had lots of recognition opportunities, and I was completely surprised by the recognition I received. Some I already knew about of course, like my 400k sales milestone which I reached at the beginning of this year. Congratulations to Robyn and Claire as well..... such a lot of work is represented there. (Not that it feels like work a lot of the time) I also was recognised for being with Stampin'Up! for 10 years, and for earning the Thailand Incentive trip in 2017. But there was also some unexpected rewards. I was recognised for the Top 5 in Australia for recruiting (No. 4) and then i was recognised for Top 10 in Australia overall (No. 4 again) For me this is the best bit because I know most of these top 10 ladies so well and I love them to pieces! It is such an honour to be named amongst them. Congratulations to you all. On the final day they named the Global 100. This is the top 100 demonstrators in the world. The rankings, like the top 10 in Australia, are based on how balanced your business is.... so sales, recruiting and leadership. To be honest, I wondered whether we would have any Australian Demonstrators in the top 100 at all, because our market is so small by comparison. But we did it! 5 Australian girls were listed in the Top 100 and I was the 4th highest. I may have just scraped in, but I tell you its still amazing to be listed in the Top 100.... after all, right now Stampin'Up! has approximately 46,000 demonstrators. What an unexpected and amazing honour! (I'd also like to mention that there was 1 New Zealand demonstrator in the top 100... at NUMBER 7!!!! What an amazing effort by Jacqui Williams... it really does show that a small market size doesn't have to hold you back! I am in awe! ) For each of of the top performer awards I received a little box with a gorgeous card signed by Shelli and Sara. And inside is a little charm. The charms are engraved with our initials on the back and they are designed to be used as a zipper pull on the jackets that we are receiving. I have ordered mine.... I chose the grey one, and am just having my country and year embroidered on it. Cant wait until it arrives! It would be a mistake to say that I achieved this on my own. I've been with Stampin'Up! for over 10 years now and it has been the most amazing journey..... and I have not regretting my decision to join for a moment. Sure, there's been a lot of hard work, late nights and long hours, but it has rewarded me in more ways than I can say. And beyond that it has put beautiful friends and colleagues in my path that I would not have met any other way. Every one of you - my customers and team - have helped my business get to where it is today. I am so grateful for every one of you, and look forward to serving you in the future. It is a pleasure and an honour! So with that in mind, here are a few happy snaps of some beautiful friends from the Onstage event.... I did steer away from the Party Animal DSP and used the new Sending Love Paper Stack as I wanted it to be Red.. (It is for a very very special friend of mine who has a birthday this weekend and who hopefully isn't reading this blog right about now.....) I stuck the silver balloon on to the pop up part only by one side so it wasn't folded in the middle. Yes that is how us Aussies spell Centre. Hahahaha! Tonight 8 of us are attending the amazing Centre Stage Event for those that are Silver Elite and above. I will be showing you more pictures of the event and people that I got to see soon... Hi Crafters! Today we are showcasing NEW products from Stampin' Up! How exciting!! Today, I have chosen to show you my personal favourite, the Colorful Seasons Bundle from the Color Theory Suite. I have had so much fun using this bundle & a couple of the new InColors, too! This Colorful Seasons stamp set (24 pc) has some really sweet two step stamps & the coordinating Seasonal Layers Thinlits (17 pc) are just adorable. The first two cards I have made a watercolour background on Shimmery White cardstock with Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink (two of the new InColors) and Sahara Sand. I really love how these cards came out. I made them for two of my team members - one who's just announced she's pregnant & the other is celebrating seven years of marriage! They are both such beautiful women who I love having in my team. I thought the sentiments worked perfectly for them! Don't you just love those little flowers! There are three little flowers to choose from. I was inspired by this card to make them. The Color Theory Suite can be found on pages 146-147 of your new annual catalog & has some AH-MAZING new products, including Mini Chevron Ribbon & Glitter Enamel Dots & Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack. The Glitter Dots & DSP both fade off, to show the full scale of four colours - Berry Burst (new), Crushed Curry, Old Olive & Dapper Denim. I LOVE this suite & colour combo! And next up I have two brighter cards. The Crushed Curry & Sahara Sand, I've made for my brother who can be a bit anxious at times lol I thought he would appreciate a random card in the mail to brighten his day. I really love how this card turned out, although I'm unsure whether it's summer or autumn lol! I used Crumb Cake instead of Sahara Sand to stamp the inside! Oops! Secondly, I have a Dapper Denim, Bermuda Bay & Crumb Cake little number, which I made for my team day on 23 April. I had seven of my team members come over to play with the new products & I gave away a few of them, too! Hehe! I like to spoil my girls! I made eight different designs, so we all made seven of each & then swapped, I got my sample cards & the girls got one of each design to take home. Stay tuned for all my sneak peeks showcasing the other seven designs we made! The flowers are actually part of a two step stamp & fit along a little branch, which I've used on the inside of the Watercolour cards above. Super cute! I cased the Crushed Curry card from this pic for my card above. I also made all my team members a little swatch of the new InColors & posted them to the girls who couldn't make it on the day. This is the new Fresh Florals DSP Stack - 40 sheets of 12x12" in the five new InColors - Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink, Berry Burst & Fresh Fig. You may recognise these prints, they're the same as the Floral Boutique (Night of Navy) DSP in the current catalog & coordinate with the Floral Phrases bundle. Demonstrators, where we get to see all our favourite people & we get to see the upcoming catalogs & all the new products! And we get celebrated for our milestones, too. Woohoo! Hello Today I am sharing a card I made with a new stamp set that I won at the SU Onstage in Perth. The stamp set is called Pocketful of Sunshine and it also has matching Framelits! I don't have the Framelits yet so cut the pocket freehand. I was so excited to win this set when my prize patrol colour came up! Think I may have danced and jumped a little wee bit too much but just couldn't help myself! I have used the cute little pocket stamp. The set comes with a few accessories to pop in the pocket. I stamped the pocket and the curved stitching detail in Smoky Slate onto Pink Pirouette card stock. I also cut two little strips of the Pink Pirouette for the belt loops and used Whisper White ribbon with jewels for the belt. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Lift Me Up stamp set and has been stamped in Archival Black ink onto Whisper White card stock before mounting onto a small strip of silver foil card stock. I cut the silver foil die cut flower that is poking out the pocket using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. And also cut the little butterfly in black card stock from the same Die set. Pink Pirouette and Whisper White card stock were used for the base and card front but then I decided to add a layer of DSP (think it's from the retired Carried Away SAB Paper Stack) and a Doily before adhering the pocket with dimensionals. I look forward to getting the Framelits for this stamp set as I'm picking it will be a popular set for making teen cards especially as it makes giving gift cards or cash an easy solution - stick it in the pocket! What a busy week it has been! Before I knew it I was off to Brisbane for On Stage Live - my first Stampin Up! event, and oh my did I enjoy it! I wanted to share with you the swap cards I made for the event, being my first event and the first time I have met many demonstrators face to face I thought that "Hello" would be fitting! I used one of my favorite stamp sets - Falling Flowers with the Hello You Thinlits Dies to create the design and finished by water colouring, my favorite technique in a variety of colours 2016 - 2018 In Colours, don't they look just gorgeous! Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride, Always Artichoke with Soft Suede stamping on Very Vanilla for a vintage look Bermuda Bay with Pool Party Bermuda Bay and Pool Party with Basic Black Melon Mambo with Rose Red and Pink Pirouette Of course there had to be a PINK feature card!
