Size: 36mm Movement: Rolex in-house quartz caliber 5055 Material: Yellow Gold Bezel: Gem-set 52 baguette cut factory diamonds Dial: Yellow gold dial with gem-set hour markers and creamy lume spots. Reference: 19058 (off catalogue reference) Year: 1984 Provenance: This watch was originally sold to Aramco, the Saudi Arabian Oil Group. As of 2022, it is one of the largest companies in the world by revenue and has repeatedly achieved the largest annual profits in global corporate history. Condition: Excellent condition, never polished. Case back sticker still intact. Recent full movement service at Rolex with service card. Included: Full set with box and papers. My Perspective: Off catalogue model from 1984. I love gem set watches because they are mysterious. They are often off catalog models that pop up unexpectedly. The gem-set baguette bezel gives the watch a modern look yet I have found that people judge vintage bling and you less for it vs modern bling. It`s more understated and whispers “old money” rather than screams “look at me”. Don`t forget that quartz was priced above the mechanical counterpart in the early days so this 19058 was one of the most expensive Rolex one could buy in 1984.
What are the first ten minutes like in your class? Is it calm? Is it organized? Are students engaged, socializing, and under control? Are your students happy? Are YOU happy? These are questions I like to ask myself to identify if I feel my morning routine is starting our day off in the right direction. And if I don't like the answers to the above questions, I know it means that I may need to tweak my morning routine. Below I have given an example of what has worked for me in the past and I hope that it can help share some ideas for those that still may be working on getting their routine down. Don't be afraid to change things if they're not working! So, what has worked for me in terms of "setting the stage for a GREAT day?" A clear, organized, easy routine, where students know what is expected and what to do. It consists of a... Greeting We can't control what happens before our students arrive in our classrooms and the state of mind they may be in when they do, but we can control how they are greeted when the step foot into our rooms at the start of each day. I firmly believe that a morning greeting can impact the entire feel for your day and I encourage you all to take the time to say good morning to each and every one of your students. One way to do this is to stand at the door and make contact with each student as they enter. Eye contact, a smile, and a warm greeting give you the opportunity to assess how a student might be feeling and help to strengthen individual relationships while building classroom community. Make it fun by switching up your greeting style each day or let your kiddos CHOOSE. You can grab this FREEBIE by clicking on the picture below. Morning To -Do's Now that students have entered the classroom they need to know what to do. If you're at the door greeting students, the students who have already entered need clear directions of what needs to be done and they need to be able to follow these directions independently. An anchor chart which clearly depicts what to do seems to do the trick! Below I have added a few examples of my favorite direction charts from Pinterest. At the beginning of the year teach students the steps of your morning routine and practice, practice, practice how they are to do this each day. Click to see Original Pin Click to see Original Pin Click to see Original Pin Morning Tubs The last step of a morning routine generally includes some type of student activity and for me, I like morning tubs. Morning tubs provide an opportunity for students to socialize, play, be creative, and independent. I like easy to assemble morning tubs that allow students the opportunity to explore, be creative, get chatty, and help them to feel calm. In the kindergarten classroom I like them to be not so structured and instead leave them pretty open ended. Basically morning tubs are hands on manipulatives which rotate through student tables each week. If you want things a little more structured you can always add picture direction cards with prompts which indicate what exactly you want students try with the manipulatives. So that about sums it up! What does your morning look like? Let me know in the comments below.

Hopefully, it has been a few weeks and teachers feel back in the swing of things. September is time for creating a classroom community. Many of the teachers in my building celebrate the month by making self-portraits. Check out some of the beautiful children below! We have student's outline with a pencil and go over it with a Sharpie. The last part is to color with pencils, markers or paint. Jessica had her student's paint on a canvas and hung them up with Command hooks(easy for next year). She got the canvases for a great price at Michael's. Amy had her students draw, outline and color. She pasted them on a color background and cut out their names. Katie had parents guess their child at Back to School night. I like how she didn't laminate them. Simple yet beautiful. She puts these in their school portfolio. Hopefully, your finding a place in your class to celebrate the faces of your students. A great big thanks goes out to any teacher who nominated Joyful Learning for a top kindergarten blog ❤❤ click here for blog list If you are planning on launching writing workshop in your classroom check out this post on tips for getting started. Joyfully yours, Melissa

I’ve designed a pop up polar bear card, ideal for Christmas or for people who care about these animals. In this card the polar bear pops out of the page with a roar and was designed alongside my other arctic based cards that are for sale, which include a popup narwhal and penguin. Except for my details printed on the back, there is no text printed on the card, so it can be given as a Christmas card or for somebody who just loves polar bears. There is plenty of space on the back of the card to add your own personal message. ABOUT MY CARDS I work as an illustrator and paper engineer, making popup books, cards and gifts. I’ve designed each card, which has been printed on artist 200gsm matte card, which I have personally hand assembled. Each cold folds flat for postage and measures approximately 10cm x 15.5cm – folding out to 20cm x 15.5cm when opened (without the dimensions of the actual popup which can go beyond the edge of the page to make it more effective). Each card also comes with an envelope as shown in the photograph and a protective cellophane sleeve. I pride myself on attention to detail and I hope you'll love seeing these cards popup, just as much as I love designing and making them. ~ Handmade item, printed on to and cut from 200 gsm white card ~ Finished card stands approx. W 20 x D 15.5 x H 15 cm ~ Includes a good quality envelope within a protective cellophane sleeve ~ Folds flat for posting

Not sure what to do with your wedding cards after the wedding?
Woah, where has January gone?? Time sure flies these days. Anyway, today I want to talk about report cards. Every teacher's favorite thing to do, right?! I can already hear your laughter :) So we just finished our second term, and with the end of the term comes report cards and parent-teacher conferences. This year, our school set a goal to have "student-led" conferences as a way to make the students take a little more ownership of their learning, and try to make the actual parent-student-teacher time more meaningful (10 minutes is just never enough time to really tell a parent how their child is doing). So in my district, we hold conferences twice a year, which is a new change that just recently started. Previously we had 3 conferences during the year, but found that holding a conference before school began didn't really accomplish anything because we hadn't even met the child yet, so we couldn't really set goals and whatnot.... So it was basically just a "meet the teacher" meeting, and we ended up having to hold individual meetings with many parents prior to the next "official" conference time, because we couldn't wait until November to address any issues or concerns we had once the year began. So now we do conferences in September and February, which is great, because it gives us enough time to gather our beginning of the year assessment data, and have a good picture of where each student is at, then in February we are about half-way through the year, so we can review their progress and see if each child is where they need to be in order to reach their end of year benchmark goals. Okay, back to the student-led conferences.... Back in September, as we were preparing for our first conference, one of the upper-grade teachers made a form for each child to fill out.... It was just a basic form with 4 or 5 questions for them to answer, but after only ONE conference using this form, it was very clear that this was NOT going to work out.... It was PAINFUL to sit there and make a seven year old do ALL the writing (because, after all, this is a "student-led" conference, so the student is supposed to be doing the writing and goal setting)... And it took waaaaaay longer than 10 minutes to complete this form. Clearly, we had a problem. One of the first grade teachers was nice enough to share a form with me that she had gotten from her cooperating teacher when she was doing her student teaching.... It was much more simple and just involved circling some pictures as a form of self-assessment.... But it wasn't quite what I wanted....and we all know how it goes when we get a copy of a copy of a copy.... It doesn't keep it's original quality, and unfortunately whoever went to all the trouble of making it didn't put their name or any copyright info on the page, so I couldn't google it and find who made it :( insert sad face here, right?? So, please forgive me in advance if you see this and think, "gosh, this looks a LOT like something I made".... I promise I was not trying to steal your thunder.... Anyway, long story short, I decided to make my own form, and I thought I would share it with all of you!! As you can see, this is just a basic form that the students can fill out themselves.... I plan on having the students do their own self-assessment 3 times during the year... First in September at parent teacher conferences, again in February at our second parent teacher conference, then we will do a final one in class at the end of the year. I keep a copy for my records (which would be great to put in data binders or other "lines of evidence" folders you might be keeping throughout the year), then the students are given a copy to take home. In the past, I've had kids that have colored these and hung them up on their fridge! How fun is that for a report card?! You can download it for free in my TPT store by clicking here! When do you have parent teacher conferences?
