NATURAL MATERIAL: The soft waffle fabric is made of 100% cotton. This makes the waffle pique breathable and skin-friendly. Natural fibers shrink a little when washed for the first time, so wash them once before processing. 3D WAFFLE STRUCTURE: The waffle pique fabric is characterized by a soft, woven 3D waffle structure. This not only creates the special look, but thanks to the honeycomb structure, the fabric is very absorbent. VERSATILE USE: The lightweight, soft yet strong and durable waffle fabric is great for clothing, pillows, blankets, bathrobes, tea towels, towels, baby gear and more. MACHINE WASHABLE: The fabric is made from 100% cotton and is machine washable at 30°C. Please only use detergent without bleach or brighteners and it is best to dry the fabric hanging or lying down. Not suitable for the dryer, ironing up to level 1 is possible. As natural fibers shrink the first time they are washed, pre-wash before cutting! DETAILS: Fabric width: 145 cm, Material: 100% cotton, Weight: 235g/m², woven 3D waffle structure

Until understanding ADHD in 2018, I don’t know how many times my son’s disruptive behavior was chalked up to that overused phrase “boys will be boys.” My son’s needle seemed to be stuck on hyperdrive all the time. Keeping him from doing and saying certain things became a full-time job.

Golden potato, broccoli, & cheddar mash (Boil in water - 1 peeled and chopped golden/yellow potato and 1/3 cup frozen broccoli florets until soft. Drain. Mash with 1/3 cup grated white cheddar cheese and milk to your desired consistency). I don't like to puree potatoes as they tend to become gummy. Ours twins are starting to move on to chunkier purées and some more finger foods now. They have entered the "Stage 3" baby food time. Now we are incorporating more textures. They recently tried commercially available puffs and melts and enjoy learning to pick them up and feed themselves. They've also been trying more of our foods like chicken, roasted vegetables, turkey, and pasta. However, they still are eating smoother purées, cereal, and yogurt as well. That's what they still eat the most of right now while they are learning to grasp and feed themselves more and more each day. Carrot, mango, & yellow bell pepper purée (Steam one cup of chopped carrots until almost soft and then add 1 cup frozen mango chunks and 1/3 cup chopped yellow pepper. Cook until soft and purée to your desired consistency using steaming water). I refer to the above as "sunshine purée" because it's so bright and orange! Our twins like most fruit and vegetables they've tried so far, with the exception of rutabaga. That was a big no! I make them a lot of bean dishes - black beans, white beans, garbanzo beans, etc. The majority of the time lately, I've been making up a single purée and then I just thaw them out together in my desired combinations. However, sometimes I still like to make combo dishes like these, especially when I'm only using a small amount of one ingredient, like the bell pepper (mom and dad will eat the rest in fajitas). Carrot applesauce (1-1/2 cups chopped carrots plus 3 peeled and chopped sweet apples cooked and puréed to desired consistency with the steaming water). They love all kinds of applesauces/purées. I do make plain applesauce, but aside from the carrot above, we've tried raspberry applesauce, strawberry applesauce, blueberry applesauce, and lots of purees with an apple component. Sometimes I use pears in place of the apples. Blueberry, spinach, & apple purée (1-1/2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries, 2-3 good handfuls of baby spinach, and 3 peeled and diced sweet apples steamed until soft and puréed to your desired consistency with the steaming water). I'm continuing to try new and different textures as well. I guess as a foodie, it's super exciting and fun to see your babies try a new food and get a big smile on their face and grab for more. They will eat plain spinach purée no problem and that makes me happy. Next up, kale! Green vegetable & quinoa chunky purée (1 cup each of frozen broccoli florets, peas, green beans, and spinach boiled/steamed until soft and puréed to your desired consistency using the cooking water. Stir in 1/3 cup prepared quinoa [I grab some and set it aside when I make some for a meal]). M., who I met on the facebook, in connection with MEC, advised me to have a look at the MAKATON signs that she uses with her daughter to connect the two languages. No matter which language you use, use the same sign for the same thing, so the child can learn to connect the meaning. You can make up your own signs as well, or do a signing course in Hungarian. I don't want to recommend any courses as we didn't take them. Just google it: baby sign language course Budapest. Here are some examples, signs we use on a daily basis: Though we sign the horse in a different way: You can find more signs here. You can also learn from a special BBC programme for kids with special needs. The programme itself is called Something Special. Each programme sees Justin and Mr Tumble (played by Justin) out and about applying signing in a variety of places. Topics covered include babies, pets, toys, weather, clothes, shops, food, all about me, where I live and colours. Mr Tumble always dresses up, wearing brightly-coloured clothes and even big shoes! He moves around clumsily and has lots of fun. The language used throughout each programme is supported by Makaton signs and symbols and is designed to be understood by children in the early stages of language development. Full episodes are 15-20 minutes long. What I did with this programme is that I watched them one by one on youtube. I learnt the signs (they are very straight forward and easy to learn) and started using them both in English and in Hungarian (same sign for the same thing). E. was 6-7 months old when I introduced signing to her. (4-5 signs at a time). When she was familiar with these (after about 2-3 weeks) I introduced new ones. Sometimes I picked a short part of an episode (max. 5-6 minutes long) and we watched it together. This could have begun earlier as well. But never cry over split milk. Click on the link, the first video I saw and really was fascinated by it - Something Special- Baby I don't do the signing all the time only if E. is not paying attention or I really want to link a new expression in both languages. Most of the time signing draws her attention. In the next post I'll write about some songs which can be followed with signing. It's a hit with kids. They love it! You'll love it too. -------------------------UPDATE 2016 ------------------------------- The programme Something Special (Mr Tumble) got renewed still it's great. On Something Special youtube channel you can even find songs signed by Mr Tumble (Justin)
