To prove its V-12 engine could be a V-16 engine, BMW made it so—then stuffed that engine into its 7-series in the late 1980s.

From the outside, this ultra-clean E32 BMW 750iL may look average. However, this AC Schnitzer-equipped sedan packs a complete six-speed manual swap. While later iterations of BMW’s venerable seven-series sedans tend to steal the spotlight in terms of popularity, old-school examples, like Jordan...

BMW 750iL. BMW owned product placement in the Bond franchise during the early Brosnan era (strange to see a British spy driving a German car, but money talks). The Seven Series was, and is, the ultimate BMW executive sedan. Though you may not be able to find a remote-controlled version like a Bond car, they are still strong buys. Captions courtesy Hagerty.
E32 On 8 July 1987 the engineers made a start on designing a special engine with 16 cylinders under the designation "Goldfish". The engine was created from an extension of the twelve-cylinder engine. At the enid of 1987, the engine had been assembled. Early in 1988, the engine was tuned on the test rig. The prototype was then installed in a vehicle from the latest BMW 7 Series at the time. In May 1988, the first driving tests were carried out. The engine was never intended for use in a series vehicle. 6.651 cc V16 408 PS @ 2.500 rpm 1 ex. This is a official consulate car and based on the colours of the flag I would think it's the car of the Latvian Ambassador to Hong Kong. This car was followed by a 5 Series BMW with a magnetic blue emergency light attached on the roof.
