Phantom Fluorite XX stage green purple This beautiful fluorite specimen impresses with its fascinating green crystals and the unique purple phantoms inside. A true natural wonder from the mines of Namibia! The vibrant green crystals of the specimen form an attractive outer layer that immediately catches the eye. But the real highlight is revealed upon closer inspection: purple-colored phantoms can be clearly seen inside the transparent crystals. These phantoms are earlier growth stages of the crystal that were trapped by later crystal growth and now float in the stone like ghosts from the past. With a size of 39x37x25mm and a weight of 56g, this fluorite specimen is an impressive collector's item. It comes from the Erongo region in Namibia, an area known for its exceptional minerals. Fluorite is valued not only for its beauty but also for its metaphysical properties. It is said to promote mental clarity, protect against negative energies and improve concentration. Features at a glance: Material: Fluorite Color: Green with purple phantoms Dimensions: 39*37*25mm Weight: 56g Location: Erongo, Namibia Special feature: Visible purple phantoms inside Combined shipping possible. Collection: Continuing Fabrics. Print: Aino-Maija Metsola. Material: 100% cotton. Dimensions: 53-56" wide. 38.58 repeat. THIS FABRIC IS SOLD BY YARD. Color: Blue/Yellow/Orange/Black Description: This unbleached heavyweight cotton fabric features the Unikko pattern, which is printed in Helsinki. 25% of the cotton used in this product is recycled and 25% is organic cotton. This product celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Unikko pattern. Unikko was created by Maija Isola in 1964 and has since become an international icon of print design. The founder of Marimekko, Armi Ratia, believed that it was not possible to faithfully capture the true essence of real flowers in print, which is why floral prints were earlier excluded from Marimekko collections. So, Maija Isola designed Unikko to be an abstraction of a flower rather than a photorealistic rendition. Today, Unikko is a powerful emblem of joy and creativity, seamlessly integrated into Marimekko´s design identity.

A beautiful hand-colored engraving from Johann Michael Seligmann's collection, which was based on the earlier works of George Edwards. The text on this image is in German, Latin, and French, which were commonly used languages in scientific texts of that era to reach a broad academic audience. Here’s the transcription and translation of the visible text: - "Die fuchs-farbige Drossel." - In German, this translates to "The fox-colored thrush." - "TURDUS rufus." - This is the Latin name for the species, translating to "Red Thrush," which is likely an old scientific name corresponding to a species of thrush with reddish plumage. - "I. 56." - This notation typically refers to the plate number or figure number in the series. - "CRIVE rousse." - This is French for "Russet Thrush." The image features a bird with a rich reddish-brown plumage, which dominates the overall coloration, with darker flight feathers and tail. The bird's underparts are a lighter shade, providing a gentle contrast. It is perched among green leaves with dark berries, which adds a naturalistic touch and suggests the bird's habitat and possibly its diet. The artwork is finely detailed, capturing the texture of the feathers and the character of the bird, typical of the high standards of avian illustration in the 18th century. This illustration would have been used for both scientific study and public education, as it combines accurate representation with aesthetic appeal.

Hi again! As I mentioned earlier today, what I like about these quilts is the ease of coordinating the colors. In decorating, I love it when a whole room is all blue or green and even though the greens or blues may not be exactly the same, the design works since the basic color carries […]

Starting with daily covers of the Financial Times, the Gazette, or the New York Times, Montreal-based paper artist Myriam Dion (previously) cuts sweeping lace-like patterns into collages of newsprint. In earlier artworks Dion left newspaper covers intact while delicately cutting her patterns with an X-ACTO knife, but in recent pieces she’s also incorporated collage. Sometimes multiple covers are cut to create repeating patterns or text is overlaid with photographs. The fragile collages are usually titled after each individual newspaper’s date and primary subject, a strange juxtaposition given the beauty conveyed in her patterns can be at odds with the content: “Thursday April 17, South Korean Ferry Disaster“.
