A Sketch from page 68 meets Season of Green & Gold Hello, Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and #476 Challenge with CASEing the Catty. You have probably hopped here from Monique Fielder's blog on your way around this week's Blog Hop. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's creations. Challenge #476 is all about CASEing one of the layouts from page 68. As you know, CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit. When CASEing you may be inspired by a layout, a colour combination, a technique or even an embellishment. This week its a specific sketch: I have combined this sketch with something I recently saw and wanted to try. Earlier this month I saw Cindy Schuster of The Crafty Carrot Co fame share a Gift Card Holder featuring the Attention Shoppers bundle. I was taken with her project and wanted to CASE it - so decided to do a double CASE, ie the sketch and Cindy’s Gift Card Holder. My project is a Christmas card with a gift card holder inside. The soon to be released Season of Green & Gold Suite (an online exclusive) has been featured in this special card. The Season of Green & Gold Speciality Designer Series Paper is so so gorgeous. One of the designs has been used for the bottom panel. It has touches of gold running throughout the leafy design. The colours of this SDSP have been used as the colour combo for the project, ie Old Olive, Garden Green, Very Vanilla and gold. Detailed die cuts from the Golden Greenery dies were cut from Very Vanilla card-stock and 2 of the bigger die cuts were coloured with either Old Olive or Garden Green Classic Stampin’ inks and Blending Brushes. The pine fronds were left uncoloured Very Vanilla card-stock. A stitched oval from the Greetings of the Season dies was also cut from Very Vanilla card-stock and then gold heat embossed using the Greetings of the Season stamp set. Some of the luscious Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon was trimmed lengthwise and tied into a bow through the little hole in the label. Some of the pearl berries from the Cherry Cobbler and Pearl Adhesive-backed Berries were added to give some subtle shimmer. The top panel was embossed using the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. A belly band was cut from one of the other designs in the Season of Green & Gold SDSP and the die cut pieces were arranged over the front of the band with the oval label sitting on top on Dimensionals. Peaking out from beneath the label are 2 strips of Gold Foil. The ends of the foil were angled inwards to give a sense of the fishtailed label on the sketch. The sketch could be interpreted as a simple card with different layers and an angled cut, however, for this project the embossed top section will open when the belly band is removed - the edge has been angled. The SDSP underneath is a full panel. When the lower section is opened, a little shopping bag is revealed. This is where a gift card is to be placed (or a small gift could be added). Isn’t it cute. The same SDSP as the front panel was used for the internal shopping bag. Some gold trim from the On-line Exclusive Gold & Silver Trim Combo was used to create the bag handles. The bottom panel was decorated with a detailed leafy die cut, a strip of the SDSP and another sentiment - this one from the Merriest Trees stamp set. The sentiment was gold heat embossed and cut into a strip the width of the card - and was popped up on Dimensionals. Thank you so much for spending time with me. I hope you like this different interpretation of the sketch for Challenge #476. Don’t miss any of the inspiration from this talented Crew. The next blog in the hop is the lovely Kathryn Mangelsdorf. Hello! Today I'm sharing another Sheetload of Cards using the August Sheetload**. This one is a definite favourite and I have used it multiple times since it was first published**. I love this patterned paper, which I picked up at Michaels several years ago. I had it out to make the card I shared yesterday and when I looked at the 12 x 12" sheet of snowmen I figured I could fussy cut them out and use them as embellishments. That was all it took to jumpstart this set of eight cards. Since I have been using this pad a fair bit there are some smaller bits and pieces, so I did use one of those scraps on two cards ... this snowman print. I simply cut them into a rectangle and matted them with more of the cream card stock. The snowmen are so cute, and it didn't take me long to fussy cut six of them to mount on the cream oval. Everything that is available is linked below. I didn't need any more Christmas cards to send out this year, but I like to work ahead for the following Christmas so it isn't such a rush come next November/December. These ones will go into the bin for Christmas 2022! **You can check out the Call Me Crafty Al's YouTube channel to see how you can download your own Sheetload of Cards - every month she provides a different one and the Collaboration Team shares their take on it as well. I have a label on the right side of my blog "Sheetload of Cards" (or click HERE) if you would like to see more samples. If you celebrate it, I wish you & yours a lovely Christmas! Christmas with Merriest Moments Hi. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Team 2021 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. I have 2 cards to share for this week's projects, both featuring the Merriest Moments bundle. I am fascinated with the hybrid embossing folder and love the coordination of the more intricate die cut and the embossing folder which covers most of a standard card front. Given the embossed detail, a sentiment on the centre label and some stamped/die cut poinsettias & leaves are all that are needed. The colour scheme I used is inspired by the gorgeous Whimsy and Wonder Speciality Designer Series Paper (just using a few of the colours). As time is short this week my cards will be simpler than my norm. I created two cards with similar layouts and colour schemes to be able to asses the different effect of plain embossing against the addition of a die cut and embossed layer. Both cards are mainly Basic White with touches of colour from the leaves, flowers and sentiment. I love the clean look of white expanse. Card 1: This first card just uses the embossing folder for the card front's base layer, ie the Basic White card-stock card was embossed with the Merriest Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder and then adhered to the Thick Basic White card base. The sentiment was stamped on Basic White card-stock in Soft Succulent Classic Stampin' ink and die cut with the stitched rectangle from the Merriest Frames dies. It fits the centre embossed panel beautifully and was added with some Dimensionals. The poinsettias were stamped in Blushing Bride ink or die cut from Blushing Bride card-stock. The tiny die cut poinsettias had some White Craft ink added to the petal tips. The larger poinsettias were formed with 2 or 3 layers. Some leaves were stamped with Mint Macaron ink and the Holly leaves were stamped with Soft Succulent ink. The flowers and leaves were arranged and the design finished off with Opal Rounds embellishments at the flower centres plus another one so there was an uneven number of embellishments. I had some Soft Succulent holly leaves left over so they were added to a Basic White card inner. I also plan to add some Blushing Bride berries but forgot to add them prior to photographing the card. Please imagine they are added. 😉 A C6 Basic White Envelope was stamped with some of the pine fronds to coordinate with the overall design. Card 2: The second card's Basic White card-front was also embossed but a second piece of Basic White card-stock was used to die cut the leafy frame and this was passed through the embossing folder. It created such a beautiful effect. The centre panel was adhered to the underneath embossed panel leaving the frame of leaves free to add more dimension. As with card 1, leaves were stamped in either Mint Macaron or Soft Succulent ink and the larger poinsettias were stamped in Blushing Bride ink. A different sentiment from the Merriest Moments Stamp set was stamped in Soft Succulent ink and die cut with the stitched rectangle from the coordinating die set. The leaves and flowers were arranged and adhered in place with either Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Dimensionals. Opal Rounds embellishments were added at the flower centres and elsewhere. I love their subtle sparkle with that touch of pink. While not showing in the photographs, some Wink of Stella was added to give subtle all over shimmer. I also had a couple of Mint Macaron pine fronds left over so they were added to the Basic White card inner. Sometimes a little decoration is all that is needed. A C6 Basic White Envelope was stamped in Mint Macaron ink with some of the same fronds to coordinate. I always enjoy creating to share with you and I certainly had fun playing/experimenting with the Merriest Moments bundle from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalogue. I am pleased with both cards and while I love the addition of the extra die cut and embossed frame layer, the card with the single embossed layer is also effective and would be great for creating in batches or for a simple card class. After creating with the soft and subtle colours, which I love, next time I must also play with more traditional Christmas colours. I have a number of ideas. The Merriest Moments bundle is delightful. If you are in Australia, don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and would like your own copy of Stampin' Up's 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue and or the July - December Mini Catalogue then let me know and I will be delighted to send them to you. I really love white on white, but I do find it a challenge. I prefer it with a pop of gold, silver or red, but this challenge is good for me to stretch myself. I embossed the larger oval frame and then die-cut the smaller window. I embossed the base card with and then added some white sequins and 'snow' to make a shaker. To finish I added an embossed sentiment panel and die-cut Christmas Trees, to which I added lots of shimmer. I'm sharing at the following:- Anything Goes Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog! I love to read your comments:)
I just had to make one more card with the Quite Curvy Variety Bundle before getting back to your semi-regularly scheduled program. 😉 Since Christmas is only 81 days away, and the cards really should be mailed by the first week of December, I've had Christmas on the brain lately. Along with a lot of other stuff, but Christmas is rapidly moving up the priority list! The pretty patterns in the Classic Christmas DSP (part of the variety bundle) really make this card. I stamped the tree line in Shaded Spruce, then filled the trees in with Dark Shaded Spruce and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends. The starry swirl above was heat embossed in white, then the stars filled in with a chalk marker so they stand out more. I inked just the first part of the greeting (which was easy to do because I could see the ink pad through the photopolymer stamp - no need to mask it off) to stamp the "May your days be merry" then cleaned the stamp and inked the last part "and bright". Measurements Image panel: Sahara Sand Classic Christmas DSP 3-3/8" x 4-5/8" Mat: Whisper White 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" DSP background: Shaded Spruce Classic Christmas DSP 4" x 5-1/4" Product List Whisper White 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock Shaded Spruce Classic Stampin' Pad Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends Combo Pack Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Combo Pack White Stampin' Chalk Marker Versamark Pad Heat Tool (Us And Canada) White Stampin' Emboss Powder Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Laurie Willison is the host with the most this month at Altenew's Inspiration Challenge She is a mighty wonderful host IRL, too! I am a very lucky girl to have actually VISITED Laurie - it's been a few years, but an evening we'll remember forever! I had a little fun with the Altenew Statement Flower today - THEN remembered this challenge! My colors might have been a little brighter to match up with Laurie's potted plants, but I love how it turned out. Here you go, Laurie! Now let's start planning our crafty weekend on our Island already!! Turns out there IS a die for this Statement Flower. But it was easy enough to cut out. I gave it a little lift with a SB die cut, and a sentiment from my snippets bin. I used Distress inks to water color my flowers today. =] Michele
Happy Blog Hop Day! Every month talented Demonstrators from around the globe bring you projects they have created using current Stampin' Up! supplies. We hope you like what we have created this month! For MY submission this month, I used products from the newly released "Curvy Christmas" stamp set and coordinating "Curvy Dies" dies. These products are available in the upcoming January 2021 Catalogue ... but they are on early release right now! Canadians can check out the details and the prices at the end of this post. Here is my card: I just LOVE the clean, monochromatic look of it! I started with a standard 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" Whisper White card base. I added a layer of Classic Christmas Designer Paper measuring 5" x 3 3/4", and popped that up on dimensionals. I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 4" x 3 1/4" and ran it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine using the Curvy dies twice. The first pass I angled the die so it was approximately 1 1/2" down from the top on the left hand side and approximately 2 3/4" from the top on the right hand side. I ran it through the machine a second time, angling the die approximately 1 1/2" from the bottom on the left hand side and just a HAIR above the bottom right hand corner. These passes through the die cutting machine will leave you with the three pieces that make up the front of the card. I used Sahara Sand ink to stamp the images, as well as the sentiment, and popped all three pieces up on dimensionals. I added some pearls and a bow, made from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack. Quick, clean, classic Christmas card. Love it! Thanks for checking it out. Now hop along and check out what my friends have come up with ... and have a stampy day! Hello stampers and happy Saturday. When I saw the Merriest Moments hybrid embossing folder, I thought what the heck is that? The price tag was also a little hefty, so it was not among my first purchases.
