Happy Holidays Crafty Friends! I am here to share some of the fabulous products from the Occasions catalog & the Lily Impressions DSP that you can earn for free with the 2020 Saleabration promotion! I am a huge fan of beautiful paper & WOW is this one amazing! I really wanted to have it be the star of the show so I accented it with the scallop frame die cut from the new Stitched So Sweetly die set. To give the background a bit of a watercolor look I did some tone on tone stamping with Gorgeous Grape and the stamp from Painted Poppies. The sentiments from the Perfectly Framed stamp set are so beautiful & worked perfectly with this card. Listed below are the links to all the products I used & they will all be available January 3rd. Hope you have a wonderful New Year's celebration! Stitched So Sweetly Dies $32.00 Perfectly Framed Photopolymer Stamp Set $16.00 Painted Poppies Cling Stamp Set $23.00 Whisper White 1/4" (6.4 Mm) Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon $7.50 Petal Pink 1/4" (6.4 Mm) Metallic-Edge Ribbon $7.00 Gorgeous Grape 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock $8.75 Gorgeous Grape Classic Stampin' Pad $7.50 Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin' Pad $7.50 Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper $0.00 Table by StampinBuddy. This was one of the Sale-a-Bration sets that I thought I wouldn't want or need, until I took a closer look at the sentiments. There are greetings that cover love, friendship, thanks, and sympathy....quite a spectrum. So, I went ahead and chose it for my free SAB item. It wasn't even in the house 24 hours when I needed to make a sympathy card. (Gosh, there have been a lot of those recently.) I found that when using the DistINKtive stamps, I get a much better image if I ink the stamp using a sponge dauber, rather than pressing the stamp on the ink pad. Because they are so finely detailed, the ink tends to get in the grooves and mess up the details. A light inking with a sponge dauber works quite well for me! For good measure, I huff on the stamp before pressing it on the cardstock. The soon-to-be-available Rectangle Stitched Framelits were used here, but I shortened both the image and the greeting panels. How, you ask? Easy! After cutting the image and the greeting (with both of them placed close to one side of the Framelit), I popped them out and then moved the Framelit over to cut off the part I didn't want. You can feel when the "teeth" fit into the previously cut stitches, so it lines up perfectly. Feed the cardstock through the Big Shot with the part you want cut off going in first. You only need the make sure the first part goes through (don't crank it all the way through!), then back it out. Here's another tip: Cut a mask by stamping on a sticky note and trimming just inside the edges of the image. Make sure some of the masked image is showing when you stamp the next layer because the stamp won't reach right up to the mask, leaving a gap as shown between the two larger lilies. I did better when I stamped the smaller lily. As pretty as this card turned out, I sure hope it's a long time before I need to make another one. Welcome to a new challenge at As You See It! This week, we have a great sketch for you. I'm sure you'll see the many possibilities. If you visit the As You See It blog, you'll see the super examples that the rest of the ream have done. As this challenge begins, it's the final few days of Sale-a-bration - your chance to earn fabulous freebies with qualifying orders, which is a great way to make your crafting money go further. So my card uses a number of Sale-a-bration freebies: The Botanical Butterflies DSP, the organdy ribbon combo pack and the Butterfly Elements embellishments. In fact, I got so carried away with the sketch that I made a whole set of cards using the design. The SAB ribbon pack has five colours in it, so I made one of each colour. I've CAS-ed an idea from the ever-amazing Paula Dobson. She made some cards where she coloured in the negative space on the black and white butterfly paper. This was an idea I completely loved and have used for these cards. The Stampin' Blends make this so very easy. The sentiments come from Itty Bitty Birthday and, for the thank you, from Detailed with Love. The lacy edge is from the Doily Builder thinlit set, a real honey of a set which is set to sell out soon so if you want some - get in quick! You can play along with us until Wednesday 10 April, 11.55 p.m. PST. We'd love to see what you do with the sketch! If you live anywhere in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up demonstrator, I'd love to be yours and to help you with ideas and Stampin' Up products. Please message me through my Facebook page, linked in the sidebar of this blog or leave a comment below. And, of course, you can shop with me from anywhere in New Zealand by clicking any of the products pictured below or the SHOP NOW button in the sidebar of this blog or you can message me. Well hello there Stampers! How are you this fine day? Actually, it's late here. VERY LATE! lol. But sometimes a girl has to wait til everyone's in bed asleep before she gets a minute of quiet time to gather her thoughts. Ya know? Sale-a-Bration kicked off on Thursday and I'm having a FANTASTIC time with it so far! Everyone LOVES the promotions (buy $50 worth of products and get special limited time products for FREE), and the sign on incentive (get $175 worth of products for only $99 and FREE SHIPPING!!!). Of course they do! All of the FREE flyin' around can make your head spin! But hey! It's only once a year right? Use some of that Christmas money on a few stamp sets for yourself. :-) One of the GORGEOUS free products in the Sale-a-Bration catalog is the Precious Parcel Card Kit. Now, this kit may very well be perfect for beginning papercrafters with it's no stamping required design, but it's also one of the most beautiful card sets I've ever seen! I mean, Look at it!! Isn't it beautiful? The Victorian mailbox, the vintage colors, and that adorable envelope, just sent my heart a-flutter! Each card has a little insert that you can write love notes or other greetings on. It's just the cutest card set ever! It's SO CUTE! BUT upon first glance, it looks very limited. It doesn't appear to have much room for modification. So, I set out to make some alternative projects with it. I'm very happy with what I've come up with, and I hope that you will be too! Enter here, two totally different treat packages! As you can see, the one on the left is made from one of the cards. A little nip here and a tuck there and viola! A 3D Post Box. The box on the right is actually made by disassembling one of those glorious envelopes! Anytime I get my hands on an envelope with a pattern on the inside, I'm compelled to take it apart and use it in my projects, so I knew I would do SOMETHING else with one of them. The difficulty came in deciding which side of the envelope to use because the inside is a beautiful blue spotted design. SO CUTE!! The deciding factor was when I realized what the final box would look like by using the white and striped side out. You are gonna FLIP!!! Check this out! I couldn't have planned it better if I TRIED!! Which I didn't. It just happened this way. But what a happy result! :-D Isn't it SUPER ADORABLE?!! Not only does that GORGEOUS stripe go perfectly all the way around the top of the box, but it also creates the perfect envelope on the inside!! I just love it! So, how did I get the box from the envelope? Easy Peezy, my friends! First, you carefully open the envelope completely. Take care not to tear any of the flaps. Then, you'll want to score 1" to the inside of the prescored lines on the body of the envelope. Go ahead and score right down the flaps too. Just 1" on all four sides. Then, you're going to cut away some excess parts of the envelope until you're left with this: Notice that I have made a cut into the striped rectangle in the upper left? I've actually done that on all four sides. This photo shows it better: The next thing you're going to need to do is fold and burnish some lines. Start by fold and burnishing all four flaps to the original fold lines. Then, while that flap is folded, go ahead and fold the folded flap onto itself again, lining up with the 1" scored line. That sounds complex, but you can see it fairly clear here: Notice in this photo I have put tear'n tape on those four little tabs. I put it on both sides of the tabs to help hold the whole thing together tighter. You don't have to, but I like my boxes to be STURDY! Ok, the next thing you'll do is open all those folds and attach your tabs into place to form the box. Once you have all four tabs secured and your rectangle is formed, you can start folding the flaps back over the tabs into the middle of the box. Start with the two short sides first, and then the base of the envelope, and finally the pointed top (as pictured here). Notice the tear'n tape along the edges. I did that on all four flaps. Again, STURDY! ;-) See how beautiful the inside of the envelopes are? I will likely take another one apart and do it inside out so I have a box with that gorgeous print. It's so pretty! I am thrilled with how the stripes lined up on the box this way!! :-D The next thing we need to do is make the box top. For this, I used a piece of window sheet cut at 5 13/16" x 4 1/2" And then score all four sides at 1". You'll need to put a little OOMPH to get the window sheet scored and then burnished. But make it crisp! All that's left to do is cut the four little corners off completely. There you go! Now, just slide the lid into the base of the box and you're done! I embellished the box simply with one of the notecards from the kit and a bit of braiden linen. Pretty much everything I used came from the kit, so this will be an easy project to replicate. It holds 12 dove chocolates......... If you were wondering. ;-) I just LOVE Dove Dark Chocolate. It's my absolute FAVORITE! I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and I hope you rip apart some envelopes! Just be gentle about it. hehe. Please leave a comment below and let me know if these instructions were easy to understand, or if I could improve this post in any way. I love hearing from everyone! I hope you have a wonderful day and as always, Happy Crafting!

Happy Monday stamping friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! How many of you braved the Black Friday shopping? I hope you found some amazing deals amongst all the chaos :-D We were on the road back home from Council ID on Friday, so there was no shopping for me. But you can bet that I will be partaking in some Cyber Monday shopping today! Don't forget you can still save 10% off select stamps and kits in the Annual Catalog through the end of today! It was absolutely beautiful here this weekend, which made it very hard to stay inside. I wanted to be outside in the {kind of} warm sun all day, but I did get in some good stamping time on Sunday. I inked up the new Butterfly Gala stamp set from the upcoming Occasions Catalog and gave #simplestamping a try. Let me tell you...this is far from simple for me, but something I need to do more often! I'm loving the black and white with just a splash of color from the Botanical Butterfly DSP from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog! I stepped things up just a bit with my next card for the casual stamper. I sponged a bit of color onto the butterflies and added a few of the adorable Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins. And then for the avid stamper...this is the world I live in! I always want to add more layers and textures and embellishments! I used the Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF for some texture, added some leaves with the Leaf Punch and added some sequins and Silver Metallic Thread for a little extra bling. The heat embossed sentiment was the final touch to tie everything together. What do you think! This will be a card I will make at my January Stamp Club, but I will be using the simple stamper card for an upcoming Coffee and Cards class for new customers. I love that these three types of stamping were the focus at OnStage at the beginning of the month! It's always a great reminder to go back to the basics to when it comes to customers who are new to stamping. Supplies Used: Paper ~ Whisper White, Basic Black, Botanical Butterfly DSP (SAB) Ink ~ Memento, Gorgeous Grape, Balmy Blue Stamp Set ~ Butterfly Gala (2019 Occasions) Other Supplies ~ Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF, Leaf Punch, Silver Metallic Thread, Butterfly Duet Punch and Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins (2019 Occasions) Whether you are a simple stamper, a casual stamper or an avid stamper, this is a stamp set you will LOVE! This Two-Step stamp set and coordinating punch are a must have for any stamper! Here's to a great week! Happy Stamping!
Now y'all know I'm not one to blend with two shades a ton. I love to use my blending markers to just color one layer, but rarely take the time it takes to make gorgeous, blended projects with them. I have friends like Elizabeth Mayfield-Hart and Erica Cerwin who can make magic with them, but I'm more quick and dirty with em. Dang! When I saw this card in the Stampin' Up catalog I knew I had to try it, and I am pleased with the results! I got together with the leaders of my team and did a catalog case swap. We copied cards straight from the gorgeous Occasions Catalog and this one was a challenge, but a stunner. I used the new Humming Along bundle with the stamps and framelits and NEW Balmy Blue and Mossy Meadow blends combo packs. The Stampin' Blends colors I used were Smoky Slate (annual catalog), Mossy Meadow(Occasions Catalog), Balmy Blue (Occasions Catalog) and Pumpkin Pie (annual catalog) blends bundles Did you see that pockety framelit? that's what I used to make the holes in the watercolor paper. I used a shim to make it cut all the way through. Worth it, don't you think? I did a watercolor wash with Balmy Blue on the watercolor layer. You better bet I also used my magnetic platform to BigShot those suckers since I spent many minutes coloring each one! Don't forget the other stunner in the set, the hibiscus. Is that a hibiscus? If not, tell me in the comments here! Does that lower card look familiar? Catch me on FB live this week Wednesday at 9pm on "papermadeprettierclub" FB group for a project using this bundle and also a gander at the card were are making with this bundle at Stamp Technique club this weekend. Here's a sneak peek! Click below to order any of these products to make this card today! Fun Folded Botanical Butterfly Card For my February Card Club, I chose to focus on the Botanical Butterfly Designer Paper and Part of My Story Stamp Set. Both products are part of Sale-a-bration 2019 brochure and are still available as the end of Sale-a-bration is approaching. How I came up with the Fun Folded Botanical Butterfly Card, I actually received a similar card for my birthday. It gave me the inspiration to create the card for today's post. The Details: The butterfly pattern I chose from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper for my card looks pretty with
