Hi everyone, sharing the card I made for our Stamparoos Stampin' Up! Group Swap that was held last night. We had to make our card or project using something new out of the new catalogue. As my preorder arrived last week, I was a bit spoilt for choice. I changed my mind several times. This is the card that I decided to use as my swap. I have used a new In-colour, Grapefruit Grove along with patterned paper from the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. The stamp set is "Love What You Do". These products are part of the Share What You Love Suite that is available from 1 May 2018. I reckon that the person who gets to name all the Stampin' Up! ink colours has the best job in the world. I love all the names that they come up with. Thank you for visiting. Carolyn Share:facebook - twitter - pinterest Group Swap

Yes, I'm shouting and, yes, I'm blogging on another day that starts with "T" because this is a big day! We can all start ordering from the new 2017 Stampin' Up! annual catalog today, and I just couldn't wait until tomorrow to announce that. It's kind of a big deal, ya know? Today's card was inspired by my stamping friend and downline, Sherry, who graciously said I could use her idea for her anniversary card. I changed it up a wee bit, but most of the elements are the same - the tree, the two Adirondack chairs, and the little enamel heart are all her idea! This used two stamp sets, along with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits chair die. I was happy to see that Sheltering Tree carried over, and thought the greeting from Just Add Text went perfectly with the two chairs. Ahhh, I can just imagine sitting under the tree with a dear friend, enjoying the breeze, the rustle of the tree's leaves, and the birds singing. The only thing missing in this picture is a frosty margarita. Heh heh. I don't know which image is my favorite from this set--either the beautiful heron or the little sailboats! I tell ya, it's impossible to make a bad card with this set. And that's sayin' something, because I can definitely make some bad cards, especially if I'm up too late. I just don't show those to your guys : ) Whether you go for clean and simple, or details and layers, I promise you Lilypad Lake will be a wise addition to your stamp shelves. Summer is here and this is the perfect bundle to start the season! The Lemon Zest Bundle Card hits the spot! The Lemon Zest Stamp Set has bold shapes and paired with bright colors makes me want to drink some lemonade. I saw the lime card on Pinterest and fell in love! I had to make my own. Thinking ahead, I changed it slightly so I can use it in a future card class. I love adding the Brick Wall Embossing Folder for some texture to the card. Lemon Zest Bundle Card hits the spot! I love the flowers in the Tropical Chic stamp set. For my card I inked up the flower image using Balmy Blue, stamped off once and added more Balmy Blue using a Dauber. This gives the two shades of blue on the flowers. I then added some black highlights to the flower centres using the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and a Clear Rhinestone. I did a Balmy Blue watercolour wash on a piece of Watercolor paper before adding a strip of Balmy Blue Designer Series Paper on top of half a Pearlised Doily. The 'Thank You' sentiment strip was created by stamping the stripe image using Balmy Blue ink and the stamping the word 'Thank You' using Momento Black on top of this. The leaves were cut from Basic Black, Whisper White and Vellum cardstock. If you live in Australia you can get all the supplies you need for this project from me. Today I am sharing a fun watercolor card we made at my February 2018 FMN card class featuring the awesome Waterfront stamp set. This set is ideal for trying out new coloring techniques. You can easily create tranquil sceneries, whether it’s lakes lined with trees, tropical islands, or snow-covered forests.
Last Saturday I had the pleasure of attending the Stampin' Up! Onstage event, one of the many perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. We had the opportunity to see the upcoming catalogue and have a play with some of the new products. A set that I was lucky enough to win is called This Little Piggy, and here are some samples from my first play with it. This is just one of the amazing new sets in the upcoming catalogue, but first I need to make the most of the retiring products. Back soon with discontinued samples. To see the full discontinued list click HERE Don't wait too long, as soon as they sell out they are gone for good. Happy Stampin, Rachel
After a week of card clubs, I had little left on my desk today. This was it: Yup, that was it. I had been playing with the Tropical Chic bundle to bring to a team meeting, but things didn't work out, and these were the two pieces the had not been trashed. 😐. So I decided to try to turn them into a card...wait...what? Hmmm...colors: These look pretty - Shaded Spruce, Call Me Clover and Mint Macaron. And this die is part of the suite - let's see what I can do with that. Pretty. So let's start with a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock and stamp the edge print using the "hinge" technique and the Stamparatus. I start with my cardstock in the corner and stamp all the way at the top. Then I move the plate down two hinges (the stamp is nearly 2" tall, so this would be the next position) and stamp again. I continue down the side of the card. And add my window (I've cut a Layering Square in the card front; I'll be putting the die-cut leaves on the inside of my card). How about a frame? Using two of the Layering Squares Framelits, I cut one from Call Me Clover. Let's see what this looks like: OK, coming along; what's next? Stamped leaves --the large one using Shaded Spruce is then cut with the Big Shot and the Tropical Thinlits dies. I also cut two Vellum leaves. And the palm leaf. I've stamped two of the flowers using my new favorite color combo - Poppy Parade and Mango Melody. Playing with placement after I stamped the sentiment from Another Wonderful Year. Almost there...still needs a little something... Done! Stitched lines below the sentiment (using the Stitched Labels Framelits) and a piece of Mint Macaron Bakers Twine (from the Nature's Twine collection) finish this off. I forgot to mention that I ran the card base through the Big Shot with the Subtle embossing folder--can you see the texture of the front of the card? Almost like a linen fabric. And that's what was on my desk this week. Thanks for joining me and following my creative process. Questions? I'm just an email away. Hello Crafty Friends, Hope you are having a great day. I have been having a productive one and thought I would share a few quick and easy cards made using the fabulous new Tropical Chic bundle. As the title suggests, this bundle has a tropical theme, with a Frangapani flower and loads of tropical leaves. The co coordinating framelits are really versatile with framelits that cut your stamped images and some of the images on the DSP. Plus there are also thinlits that make matching foliage die cuts. The background of this set of cards have been embossed with the new Subtle Embossing Folder. The images were stamped using: Coastal Cabana, Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove, Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Tempting Turquoise, Berry Burst and Granny Apple Green. I love the new brights colour family so much I have been making batch of cards in different colours because not everyone loves pink (say what? lol) Coastal Cabana is definitely on the top of my favorite list.....and its not a red/pink tone! Pineapple Punch and below in Flirty Flamingo. And finally a Granny Apple Green version. I will share the next set of cards in another post, keep an eye out for more inspiration using this stunning bundle along with some other new goodies that I got to unbox last week. Until next time, stay crafty

I'm so excited to share this project & video with you today. If you're looking to make a few extra special cards for the Holidays, for those extra special people in your life...this Night in Bethlehem Bundle card is the one! For my one of Stamping Club Classes we did an oldie but goodie technique, Polished Stone...but with a twist, using the Clear Wink of Stella Brush. I also shared it at the Creative Connections event in September and a few people have asked about a How'd She DO That? video. So that's what I have for you today! Polished...

Good afternoon! It is time for another technique challenge over on the SSINKspiration blog and this month we're using the sunburst technique which I never used before but is super easy, and a great way to show off lots of patterns of paper (and use up scraps). I used Old Olive cardstock for the cardbase and then added Early Espresso as the cardfront and the mat for my sunburst. I cut several pieces of Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper and then cut them in half diagonally (the Stampin' Trimmer is perfect for this) and then started piecing the design together. Now I'll admit, I planned on my card being tall but after I put all the pieces together I noticed my deer on the one piece would have been sideways so I just flipped the card and now my deer are right side up. After I added all the pieces I used my trimmer again to cut off all the excess so I had nice clean edges. To finish off the card I used the Timeless Tidings stamp set for the greeting and stamped in in Shady Spruce ink on Whisper White cardstock and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits. I used the Layering Circles Framelits and Real Red cardstock to cut a scalloped circle mat for the greeting and then attached the piece with dimensionals. I love this card because it lets the designer series paper really be the star and you don't need lots of supplies to make it. Go check out the other cards the design team is sharing and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create. Hello and welcome. You are currently visiting Karen Farquhar from Australia for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges. For challenge #025 we have a colour challenge the pretty colour combination of Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Lemon Lime Twist. I felt these bright, beautiful colours had a tropical feel so I have chosen to use the stamp set and thinlits bundle Tropical Chic for my projects today. With the cold weather still hanging around I can only dream of a beautiful tropical resort with drinks being served while I lie soaking up the warm sun by the pool. My niece actually owns a resort in Sir Lanka and has offered us an open invitation, so maybe one day. For today's projects I have made 2 thank you cards and a gift box. You may notice the subtle differences in the card samples above and the little gift box. Firstly I have used sponging to give a blended effect to the hibiscus flowers and leaves where as the flowers and leaf on the box below were stamped. Also there are two types of dies in the set. The above cards have had their leaves diecut to the outline of the stamped image whereas the flowers and leaf on the box were diecut leaving a border around the stamped image. With my stamps and dies still on my craft table I thought I would create a Scrapbook page in my feeble attempt to do some catching up with my Grandchildren's albums. This set is so versatile I can also see a few more Scrapbook pages begging to be made. Thank you for visiting me today. Please you are more than welcome to enter your projects for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges. We really would love to see your creations. Also pop over here for a visit to see the projects of other talented stampers. To purchase the products I have used today just click on the product thumbnail below to take you directly to my Online Store. Have a fun time shopping. (Sorry Australian residents only). In Love With This Suite! It is called the Tropical Escape Suite and it is so me and Lilly Pulitzer! It has the set called Tropical Chic and matching dies called Tropical thinlits. My fav is the awesome designer paper and the colors in in! DSP is called Tropical Escape and it has loads of cool prints! I pulled a busy one here for my background and layered it on the Shaded Spruce card stock and then a Whisper White base. I then got to work on stamping and die cutting! I first stamped the fat leaves in Lemon Lime Twist and another in Granny Apple Green. I stamped the flowers in Blushing Bride. Finally I cut the Spruce leaves from the card stock. I stamped the sentiment from the set in Spruce and punched it out with the Tailored tag punch. I finished it off with some pearls. Pearls are always chic! I hope you enjoy this suite because you will see it all summer long right here on my blog! Play along over at Fabfridaystampinchallenge.blogspot.com for this fun sketch! Thanks for stopping by!
