I am delighted to be able to play with Inkspire Me because I loved the idea of being able to add my own colour to the neutrals. I chose a colour that I seldom ever use - Pumpkin Pie. I found myself colouring in the flowers from Amazing You, a Sale-a-bration set, in the bright orange almost against my will! I started with a sponged stencilled background in Smoky Slate. I stamped the flower from Amazing You in Tuxedo Black and stamped extra leaves around it. The spray is built up with Pumpkin Pie blooms, and die cuts in Smoky Slate and vellum from Bouquet Bunch framelits. The sentiment is from Perennial Birthday, a new set from the Occasions catalogue. The Pumpkin Pie sequins are also from the Occasions catalogue and I've added a small rhinestone in the centre of them and one in the flower centre to make three. If you live anywhere in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up demonstrator, I'd love to help you with ideas and Stampin' Up products. Sale-a-bration is on and there's a new Special Occasion Catalogue out. Please message me through my Facebook page, linked in the sidebar of this blog or leave a comment below. And, of course, you can shop with me from anywhere in New Zealand. Update: Utterly delighted to be the Top Pick at Inkspire Me! Ingredients Card: Basic Black, Whisper White, scraps of Smoky Slate and vellum Stamps: Perennial Birthday, Amazing You Inks: Smoky Slate, Tuxedo Black Other: Stampin' Blends in Pumpkin Pie, Bouquet Bunch framelits, dimensionals, Pattern Party decorative mask, sponges, Tutti-Frutti adhesive backed sequins, rhinestones.
Hi everyone, sharing the card I made for our Stamparoos Stampin' Up! Group Swap that was held last night. We had to make our card or project using something new out of the new catalogue. As my preorder arrived last week, I was a bit spoilt for choice. I changed my mind several times. This is the card that I decided to use as my swap. I have used a new In-colour, Grapefruit Grove along with patterned paper from the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. The stamp set is "Love What You Do". These products are part of the Share What You Love Suite that is available from 1 May 2018. I reckon that the person who gets to name all the Stampin' Up! ink colours has the best job in the world. I love all the names that they come up with. Thank you for visiting. Carolyn Share:facebook - twitter - pinterest Group Swap
I created about 60 of these Sweet Soiree cake customer thank you cards one afternoon and no 2 turned out the same!! I mixed and matched the Stampin' UP! Sweet Soiree specialty designer paper - 2 designs on each card - and switched up the ribbons and the cake embellishments and was so pleased with the fun outcome! They would also be perfect for birthday cards, wedding cards or anniversary cards! You'll find the Sweet Soiree paper on page 13 of the 2018 Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog, or you can see it below or HERE online. A few Design

This was one of the Sale-a-Bration sets that I thought I wouldn't want or need, until I took a closer look at the sentiments. There are greetings that cover love, friendship, thanks, and sympathy....quite a spectrum. So, I went ahead and chose it for my free SAB item. It wasn't even in the house 24 hours when I needed to make a sympathy card. (Gosh, there have been a lot of those recently.) I found that when using the DistINKtive stamps, I get a much better image if I ink the stamp using a sponge dauber, rather than pressing the stamp on the ink pad. Because they are so finely detailed, the ink tends to get in the grooves and mess up the details. A light inking with a sponge dauber works quite well for me! For good measure, I huff on the stamp before pressing it on the cardstock. The soon-to-be-available Rectangle Stitched Framelits were used here, but I shortened both the image and the greeting panels. How, you ask? Easy! After cutting the image and the greeting (with both of them placed close to one side of the Framelit), I popped them out and then moved the Framelit over to cut off the part I didn't want. You can feel when the "teeth" fit into the previously cut stitches, so it lines up perfectly. Feed the cardstock through the Big Shot with the part you want cut off going in first. You only need the make sure the first part goes through (don't crank it all the way through!), then back it out. Here's another tip: Cut a mask by stamping on a sticky note and trimming just inside the edges of the image. Make sure some of the masked image is showing when you stamp the next layer because the stamp won't reach right up to the mask, leaving a gap as shown between the two larger lilies. I did better when I stamped the smaller lily. As pretty as this card turned out, I sure hope it's a long time before I need to make another one. I've been trying out my newest stamp set this morning. I'd planned on only making one card but stamped and heat embossed spares - I always need spares for when I make the inevitable mistake!! Today must have been a good day as no mistakes were made so I had enough images for two cards!! The first: I stamped and heat embossed the flowers with gold before lightly water colouring with distress inks. Then die cut the images and adhered them with foam squares to add dimension. I'm going to enter these challenges: TIME OUT Challenge #57 - this week the challenge is to be inspired by words - "May all your weeds be wild flowers" - in may case both of my cards are wild flowers! AAA Card Challenge #65 - it's AAA Cards 2nd Birthday!! Congratulations - my card is not designed for a two year old but for the designers of the challenge!! My second card uses the same elements as the first but has a different orientation. I used: Stampin Up - Flowering Fields Simon Says Stamp - Handwritten borders Distress Inks - Picked Raspberry and Shaded Lilac WOW Gold Embossing Powder Versamark Ink Lawn Cuts Stitched Rectangles I'm entering the following challenges: Penny Black and More - May challenge "Anything Goes" Stamping Sensations - May challenge "Anything Goes" Enjoy!

Did you have a wonderful Christmas? We certainly did! I have a sneak peek for you today of a stamp set that launches new week. It's called Flowering Desert and I made quite a few of these cards!
During my live video on Friday, I shared that a really easy way to make a beautiful card quickly is to use the Changing Leaves hybrid embossing folder and emboss a piece of the gorgeous Thoughtful Journey patterned designer paper. I die cut them first with the Deckled Rectangle die, then embossed them. Each one is a little different and OH so gorgeous! Using the same colors that I used in THESE CARDS for stamping and die cutting the leaves, I added stamped leaves plus die cut Thoughtful Journey leaves to the cards, and finished them with the Pretty

In Love With This Suite! It is called the Tropical Escape Suite and it is so me and Lilly Pulitzer! It has the set called Tropical Chic and matching dies called Tropical thinlits. My fav is the awesome designer paper and the colors in in! DSP is called Tropical Escape and it has loads of cool prints! I pulled a busy one here for my background and layered it on the Shaded Spruce card stock and then a Whisper White base. I then got to work on stamping and die cutting! I first stamped the fat leaves in Lemon Lime Twist and another in Granny Apple Green. I stamped the flowers in Blushing Bride. Finally I cut the Spruce leaves from the card stock. I stamped the sentiment from the set in Spruce and punched it out with the Tailored tag punch. I finished it off with some pearls. Pearls are always chic! I hope you enjoy this suite because you will see it all summer long right here on my blog! Play along over at Fabfridaystampinchallenge.blogspot.com for this fun sketch! Thanks for stopping by! Hello, and welcome to the last Crazy Crafters Blog hop for 2018, our special guest today is Rose Coleman from Calgary, Alberta in Canada. She has been stamping for 15 years, and has qualified for incentive trips during this time - way to go Rose! Our challenge is to CASE a project made my Rose, whilst I man have been drawn to the pinks, I am a sucker for fun folds I had my project as soon as I saw this: Now I don't recall making a gate fold card before, and as I do tend to do, I made a slightly complicated version of the Interlocking gate fold card, due to the layering on the oval frame, anyway, I love the way it turned out and would do it all over again, here's a look at my project. The frame took a little time to align the 3 elements form the Layering Ovals Framelits: Large Crumb Cake oval frame Blushing Bride scalloped edging Very Vanilla sentiment oval frame But as I said, I am well pleased with my efforts in lining everything up - washi tape to the rescue to hold the elements in place when running through the Big Shot saved the day! I adore Stampin' Blends with Petal Palette stamp set, the used with brushstroke stamp imagery they are just perfect (very easy for first time users of Blends) - I've used light and dark Pink Pirouette with light Old Olive and Pool Party on the leaves. I popped a little Copper Metallic Thread with Dimensionals behind the die cut flowers and adhered to the left hand edge of the frame. I stamped the sentiment and background using Petal Palette, and then embossed the Very Vanilla background with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured impressions embossing folder, then lightly sponged Crumb Cake over the embossing - it really made the wood grain pop. I decided to add a 2nd scalloped oval behind the sentiment oval, as the background was embossed it was easy to line up everything up. I also dressed up the inside of the card, carrying the stamping theme and sponge edges, as will as lightly stamping a Hardwood background. Sit back and take your time to hop all the way around our Crazy Crafters hop and see all the incredible creations, and if you have a chance please leave a comment, we love receiving comments! BLOG HOP PROJECT Welcome to my Stamp It Demonstrator’s Group Mother's Day Theme Blog Hop. We’re all really excited to unveil our projects, and announce a new contest give-away (below). To continue on your journey through our projects, simply use the BLOG HOPPERS links below. My project share is how to create this set of Mother's Day cards from the retiring Stampin Up Tranquil Tulips Hostess Stamp Set and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets. All 3 feature a unique "pop", including 2 different styles of Eclipse Card techniques. One great part of the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set is that it is full of greetings, and you can simply switch the "Happy Mother's Day" greeting on the front with "Happy Birthday", "Congratulations", or "With Sympathy" to make this card design work for many different occasions. TRANQUIL TULIPS SUBSTITUTION The Tranquil Tulips stamp set is a hostess stamp set. This means it's a special edition set available with Stampin' Rewards, which are "free dollars" you can earn with hosting a workshop, placing an order over $150 in my online store (single or combined with friends), by joining my Online VIP Club and you can also get hostess stamp sets with my Frequent Buyer Point Program. In addition to these, you can win the Tranquil Tulips stamp set one of my live streams today (Youtube or Facebook). If you don't have the Tranquil Tulips Hostess Stamp set, the Bunch of Blossoms Stamp Set is a great substitution. Bunch of Blossoms set isn't retiring, so it will be available in the new catalog that comes out in June (in case you're watching this after Tranquil Tulips retires, or weren't able to get it in time).
