I love this sketch over at the TGIF Challenge. Challenges are good if you are suffering from 'I don't know what to do' syndrome. In fact I find it really hard to do a card without doing a challenge. If you have the same problems, I strongly suggest giving a challenge a go. You will find a link to quite a few challenges on my blog. I used one of the new sets in our soon to be released Holiday catty and the sketch is just perfect for this set too. I used the following products from Stampin Up Product List Everyday Hero Photopolymer Stamp Set [143080] $36.50 Real Red A4 Card Stock [106578] $14.00 Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad [126949] $11.50 Pacific Point A4 Card Stock [116202] $14.00 Pacific Point Classic Stampin' Pad [126951] $11.50 Basic Black A4 Card Stock [121688] $14.00 Sahara Sand A4 Card Stock [121695] $14.00 Hello Honey A4 Cardstock [133685] $12.25 Hello Honey Classic Stampin' Pad [133643] $11.50 Thanks for looking
Well I've finally been able to get back into my craft space after the Stampin' Up! On Stage event that was held in Brisbane last week. I had so much fun and the best time ever and if you haven't seen yet a special announcement was made at On Stage, you are now looking at one of the new 2017 Artisan Design Team members!!!! Super, super exciting!!! To see all the details and some pics about the announcement check out my blog post here. This week at Just Add Ink we have a gorgeous colour challenge. I'm loving these colours together and how fabulous is that bold pop of Night of Navy. I'm using a brand spanking new set from the up coming Occasions Catalogue, which starts 4th January 2017, called Dragonfly Dreams. I received this set at the recent On Stage event and couldn't wait to have a play with it. It does have co-ordinating framelits but they are currently in transit across Australia and I'm hoping they will land on my door step today! So I had to do a little fussy cutting for today's card. Mint Macaron Blushing Bride Night of Navy Smoky Slate Click to see all Stampin' Up!'s products in that colour The dragonflies have a two-step stamping process so that you can add some colour under those fabulously detailed wings. I've used the baby wipe technique to add some colour. Because the Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride colours are very soft and light it makes it a little bit difficult to see them but they give a beautiful soft and subtle look to those fabulous wings. With the baby wipe technique you are creating your own ink pad with what ever colour you like. I love the hundreds of different combinations that you can get just by adding a few colours together. The spots along the top and the bottom are also an image from this new set. Just looking at it now you could even use those spots for snow in a winter inspired card. That would look fabulous! I've stamped them with Versamark and then heat embossed white Stampin' Emboss powder for a fabulous spotty look. I'm really loving this set, I'm thinking that I will be using it lots! I hope that you have a fabulous Friday and get some creative time in somewhere over the weekend. For some fabulous inspiration using these fabulous colours make sure you check out the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team and I can't wait to see your creations! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hello and welcome to my stop on today's blog hop. As soon as I saw the chickens in the Sale-a-bration set Hey Chick I knew I had to have it. I was raised on a farm and we always had chooks and I had my own Silky hens which had feathers tops of their heads. Anyway back to now... I coloured the hens with the new watercolour pencils. In the second card I mixed my own purple using the red and blue pencils. They are so easy to mix. With my next 2 cards I have paired the greeting set Suite Sentiments with Stylish Stems framelits dies. I love the fact that you can cut out just the inner petals and use this on top of another colour. I once again used the watercolour pencils to add colour to the petals behind the card front. For this card I also aded a small strip of an embossed piece using the new Falling Petals embossing folder. Before I used the mat for behind my main card front I cut out a couple of flowers for use inside my card but then made sure that the area behind the leaf was open so I could then use the main card as my leaf colour. Its now time to hop on over to Narelle's blog to see her beautiful creations. BLOG HOP PARTICIPANTS: 1. Libby Dyson 2. Samantha White 3. Nicole Wilson 4. Kelly Kent 5. Lou Kitzelman 6. Hello everyone! I am getting to the rest of my display samples. I'll share 3 of them today and then the rest tomorrow (hopefully!). These are the last of my 3-d projects and then one of the cards. I love how this mini treat bag came out. I stamped the bee and embossed him with the copper embossing powder. It's so pretty! I added a bee and a strip of hearts cut from the copper paper. I also added half of a doily. The sentiment is stamped using the Rich Razzleberry ombre ink pad. I didn't think I liked these at first but they do make images and sentiments a little more interesting. You should give them a try! My other 3-d item is these bobby pins. The dragonflies were stamped on Shrinky dinks!! How fun! Not only are shrinky dinks for kids, but great for stamping too. I stamped these and colored them with sharpies. Once they shrunk down they did come out a little darker than I would have liked. But still cute none the less. I also added some rhinestones in the middle of them and hot glued them to bobby pins. My last card for today uses the Bermuda Bay ombre ink for the dragonflies. It makes them look so pretty. This card is a little more shabby chic. I added some images from the Timeless Textures stamp set. Then some ribbon and sequins finishes it off. Don't forget Online Extravaganza is still going on! Thanks for stopping by!

Hammer! Stampin´Up Set aus dem Frühjahr-/Sommerkatalog 2017 Karten mit Prägeform Sechsecke
Welcome to the ESAD Sneak Peek Blog Hop for the new Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogues that will be available from 4 January. I chose to get my three faviourite products from the catalogue in my pre-order Beautiful You stamp set, Falling in Love DSP and the gorgeous Watercolour Pencils. I have incorporated all three in my cards today. The Beautiful You stamp set has three lovely ladies, which I have named Dancing Lady, Umbrella Lady and Stylish Lady. The first card uses Dancing Lady but I have added the umbrella from one of the other images. I did so by stamping it onto Floral Boutique DSP and then just cutting out the umbrella, adding a handle simply by drawing a straight line to her hand. I love using the watercolour pencils to colour, here I have used them simply as pencils, using a range of pressures and layers to build up colour and add depth to the image. As you can see in this close-up I have added some colouring to the umbrella using the lovely watercolour pencils. My second card uses the Stylish Lady and this was one of those cards that I imagined in my head but took a bit to get down on paper just how I wanted it. I am not sure it is 100% right yet, but I am pretty happy that I have achieved the effect I was aiming for. On this front panel I stamped the lady onto acetate then flipped it over so that it was in reverse, I have cut an oval out of the front of the card to create a window to the inside. Here is the inside of the card on which you can see I have added the "mirror" using silver foil paper. I wanted the recipeient to see the two beautiful ladies on the front, then open the card and effectively see herself in the mirror as she read the sentiment. Time to hop on over to Josie's blog to see what she has been inspired to create in her sneak peek. Happy Stamping Monique
Sunday 12 March 2017 It's still pouring so I'm happily hanging out in my craft room making cards! I was pottering around with the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack and the Window Shopping stamp set and decided to make another card for the Colour Challenge over at the Global Design Project. Here are the colours for the challenge: And here's my latest card: I'm thinking of having a challenge with myself - use every stamp in each set! Sometimes I realise (mostly when the stamp set is being retired) that I haven't used some of the stamps and suddenly they seem like the best stamps! Today I've used the "Thanks for being a great friend" and the "Square of Flowers" on my card - I've only got 10 more stamps in the set that I haven't used now! The Cupcakes and Carousels DSP is perfect for this colour challenge as it has all the colours in it and I've highlighted them with the cardstock, twine and enamel dots too. The DSP inside the envelope adds a nice little finishing touch. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Heeeej hallo!
Today I decided to take a quick break from Christmas projects and create something with brand new products. This stuff is so new its not actually released yet. These gorgeous dragonflies will be coming your way on the 4th January 2017! The set is called Dragonfly Dreams and its a beautiful bundle of both stamps and framelits. I fell in love with them when we were in Brisbane at the Onstage event recently, and you are going to love them too! This card features a watercoloured background on Shimmery White paper, and I cut the Dragonfly shape with the Framelits from whisper white cardstock. The sentiment is also from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set - it has some really nice words. Stampin' Up! Special Reason is fast becoming one of my favourite stamp sets and I've used it here for the Stampin' Up! Thailand Acheiver's Blog Hop. It features the fabulous mint macaron glimmer paper that is still available in Europe at the moment as a free gift with qualifying spend. That's my bit of saleabration. Colours used are blushing bride, mint macaron, sweet sugarplum and whisper white. The embossing folder Petal Burst is now a free gift with purchase too! Thank you for joining us for another Crazy Crafters Blog hop with a special guest! We have these hops twice a month and they are always with Stampin' Up!® celebrities that we admire and are inspired by. This hop we have the incredible Sandi MacIver. Sandi has had a tough year or so after going through cancer, three operations and then found out her gorgeous corgis Oscar also had cancer and required treatment - but they both have done incredibly and overcome that rotten cancer. Yikes! I was so busy baking, candy making, wrapping, and designing cards for the Control Freaks swap (that have to go postal TOMORROW!), that I almost forgot to blog today. Sorry if you been checking and wondering what the heck happened. I'll yell ya what happened - LIFE! Sometimes it gets in the way of crafting, lol. Anyhoo, I looked in my Box o' Useful Bits, and pulled out the embossed background and gold die cut flower, and went from there. Easy and elegant, if I do say so myself! And since I REALLY need to finish those swaps, I'm not doing a "How To" tonight. I hope you are farther ahead in the game than I am, and aren't stressing about the holiday!
