It seems I cannot get away from using Emerald Envy! It is just too beautiful! And I love the way the colors came together in an artful, thoughtful way in this card. And make no mistake about it, this card is all about the bow and that glorious Emerald Envy ribbon. The patterns are modern and graphic, but the Very Vanilla backgrounds make this DSP look almost dainty in this card. Or maybe it is just that bow! A simple, basic layout works here because of the bold color and the circles ended up being the best way to showcase a sentiment.
Thank you for joining us for this amazing 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek Blog hop! We have an incredible line up of Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators that I am sure you know well. You may be starting here or have come from the incredibly talented Patty Bennett - either way, you can use the list at the end of this post to make your way around the hop and see some projects using BRAND NEW products. At the moment you are currently in Australia and you will be hopping around the world to many different locations. Please feel free to leave comments as we love hearing from you. I used the brand new host stamp set called Pun Intended. I adore that gorgeous love light and knew that is what I wanted to use. Something clean and simple. Interestingly I was showing Brian King the card that I made for this hop and he sent a picture back of one of his cards from a few years back that looked very similar. I must have seen it on pinterest and tucked it away for when I needed it to come out again. Thanks for the inspiration Brian! Here is my card - I adore this stamp set! I love that it is so clean and that the light just pops out and shines brightly. I also adore white embossing and love that I have been able to use this for the sentiment and cord. The crushed curry cardstock goes so well with the Basic Black cardstock. Thank you so much for joining me today. I am sure that you are going to love seeing all the amazing projects! You are in for such a creative treat. Next up is the amazing Janneke de Jong. I know you will love her take on something new. Today's card is a CAS one inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #238. This was a very quick card to put together and I love that about it! Most of my cards take me WAY too long to make, but I enjoy it so I can't resist it sometimes. It is nice to whip one out very quickly every now and then though. :) This card was as simple as cutting out two pieces of whisper white card stock, inking the outline of the stamp and the happy birthday with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, Stamping the flowers with Peekaboo Peach and the stems and buds with Pear Pizzazz. I added a little water to the lid of Peekabook Peach (with ink already in the lid) and using a paint brush flicked some color on the card stock. I added a few pearls, put the card stock I stamped on onto the card base and I was done! I can't add the Peekaboo Peach yet, but will be able to as soon as the catalog goes live...I hope!! Basic Black Pear Pizzazz Whisper White Thanks for looking and have a great day! Sara I would love to be your demonstrator! It was ecstatic to receive a big box of new products from the Stampin' Up! 2016-2017 Annual Catalog this week, including many of the sneak peek products from the Playful Palette suite on today's birthday card. I'll be sharing the excitement and new product samples with you through the end of May.
One of the many perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is being able to order select new products a month before the catalog is released. Our pre-order started last week and I splurged and had my order sent with expedited shipping. I mostly just wanted the new catalog as soon as I could get it but getting the new In Colors and a few other products were a nice bonus. I made some time on Friday afternoon to get into the stamp room and create a quick card. I used the current challenge over at CAS(e) This Sketch for my inspiration. The card base is Whisper White thick and then a layer of Crumb Cake with the corners rounded. I stamped some Gorgeous Grunge splatters in Crumb Cake ink. Then I got to work with my new stuff! Using the Swirly Scribbles thinlets which coordinate with the Swirly Bird stamp set I cut out the wavy looking element and layered that on top of the splatters. The pretty purple-y color is called Sweet Sugarplum and has a lovely ruched ribbon that I used across the card front. Next I added the stamped rose. I stamped off the Sweet Sugarplum ink once for a lighter look and added the Sweet Sugarplum die cut scribble over the top. The leaves are stamped off once in Emerald Envy and then the details were added in full strength ink. The leaves are layered behind the popped up rose. For the sentiment I stamped the banner in Crumb Cake and then added the words in Emerald Envy stamped off once. The new Thoughtful Banners set and coordinating Duet Banner punch will be a great all purpose set in my collection. It will be fun to mix and match for all occasions. I added a few gold sequins to finish this card off. The Swirly Bird set and Swirly Scribbles thinlets have a lot of possibilities and I can't wait to get some more time in the stamp room to play with them. Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today? Stamps: Swirly Bird, Thoughtful Banners, Gorgeous Grunge Ink: Crumb Cake, Emerald Envy, Sweet Sugarplum Paper: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Sweet Sugarplum Accessories: Swirly Scribbles thinlets, Duet Banner punch, gold sequins, dimensionals
What Will You Stamp? Challenge #70 Hi, I haven't posted for a couple of weeks as we went on holidays with our little family. I have never been in this challenge so I thought why not? This bundle arrived on my doorstep when I was away so my friend Emma picked up the box and babysat it until I arrived home.... I was in heaven as this set was the first on my wishlist! I had an idea with the pinata to have is suspended as if it was hung from the roof of a party. A great bright cheery card. I love these colours together they work so very well. The sentiment is raised in the middle with dimensionals and glued down on the sides to give it a 3d effect. Stamps: Birthday Fiesta Ink: Memento Black, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise and Emerald Envy (Stampin' Write Markers also in these colours) Card: Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Emerald Envy & Festive Birthday DSP Tools: Fiesta Time Framelits Dies, Layering Squares Framelits Dies & Brick Wall Embossing Folder with the Bigshot, Fringing scissors Embellishments: Dimensionals, Rhinestones WWYS70 To See the other cards in this challenge head on over to http://whatwillyoustamp.blogspot.com.au/

Here is one of the sets that we won at Onstage - the Baby Bear Stamp set. I have a feeling that this set will be very popular! The bear is a three step stamp set - which gives it the realistic look. I used Sahara sand and then Soft Suede for the next two layers. The little bow is using Pink Pirouette on both layers. The background I used the perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set. I thought it added a special touch without taking away from that gorgeous bear. Here are some of the amazing displays that I got to see too - There is more to come so make sure you subscribe to my blog so you don't miss an update this week. I have so much to show you! I always worry about sharing cards here that are too simple. I don't want the masses to rise up in retaliation and make me wish I'd made a more complicated card. That said, sometimes you don't really need a card to be super-complicated. Sometimes you need a straightforward (and adorable)
