Stamps: Beautiful You page 24 Occasions 2017 item code 143004 wood 143637 clear, Mediterranean Moments page 29 Occasions 2017 item codes 143188 $28.00 (wood blocks included) • 143191 $20.00 Paper: Floral Boutique item code 141663 page 77 annual catalog Accessories: Stitched Shapes, Navy Bakers Twine For a recent Stamp Share for Leaders group meeting (a local upline/downline leadership meeting) I participated in a 49 person swap. I wanted to use the Mediterranean Moments stamp set. Doing some research of what it really looks like there (since I have yet to go there myself) I found a lot of blues and ceramic tile. That inspired me to figure out how to make my own "tile". I looked through my stash of designer papers to see if I had something that had that Mediterranean feel. The Floral Boutique certainly could pass as some of the tiles. Next I had to figure out how I was going to use that. Squares were definitely the shape to go. I wanted the paper to look like the tile patterns matched. Using quarter inch strips of paper, cut so that they would be easy to lay on my card base, I made a T or X depending on how you look at it, where I would be able to even space my tiles. I did write up with an arrow so that tiles were consistently laid out. The biggest issue was do I pre cut all 49 3" x3" pieces of designer paper? and then try and keep track of order and direction? After playing around with several ideas here is what I came up with: Place Tear & Tape on the back of each piece of designer paper first. Mass assembly. Cut the paper into the smaller squares 1 1/2" x 1 1/2". Keep them in order. Place the paper spacer on my card base. Place the tiles down, diagonally worked best. Pick a corner to start with, do the lower row opposite corner next. Then finish the other two squares. It was slow, but once I got a rhythm, it took a few hours admittedly. But I was making 49 plus extra cards. If we still carried the Crystal Effects, it would have given the tiles a nice glossy finish. I am not sure if I chose random "tiles" if the look would have been the same. Meaning 4 different styles of designer paper for each card. For the stamped image, it was a thousand times easier to cut out the white piece using the Stitched Shapes first, then stamp after, using the Stamp-a-ma-jig. The card stock is nearly cut to the same size as the wood block anyway. That was a super quick step for me. Layering the white stamped piece and the navy piece, as you can see, I drew squares on my work paper, lined up the two pieces and glued together. Super quick to line them up using the outlines. If you have any other questions regarding this technique, please comment below or email me. Thanks! Sandy Thank you for stopping by today! Keep being creative, Sandy
This week has flown with lots more work happening outdoors here colourmehappy hq, so it's no surprise I have tools on my mind, & used the them on my card for this week's sketch challenge at Just Add Ink. Here's the fab & flexible sketch Narelle challenged us with. Cool, huh? I took a little liberty & squished the sketch a bit to make my card, but I'm sure you'll see all the sketch elements. I paired together the Nailed It stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue & Labeler alphabet stamp set from the 16-17 Annual Catalogue - my first play with both of them. I received Nailed It as a Prize Patrol win at Onstage Live in Brisbane (#demoperks). It's not a set I'd normally gravitate too as tools are not really my darling man's thing, but I was very happy to win it, as it was something different for my collection. More ideas for masculine card ideas are always welcome. Back to the card, I started by cutting the circle sketch elements with my Stitched Shapes framelit dies (have you figured out I LOVE these yet?), then embossed the real red circle with the new Hexagons Dynamic embossing folder (wow! another new love that one). The dotty paper is from the Carried Away dsp pack - a Sale-a-bration freebie you can choose with any $90 purchase until 31 March. See how to get your free pack here. I stamped the tools in basic gray archival ink & watercoloured them with smoky slate, dapper denim, old olive, real red & peekaboo peach ink & an aquapainter, then fussy cut them out. If you're thinking 'ugh, fussy cutting', you'll be glad to hear that coordinating Build It framelit dies are also available separately & as a discounted bundle. I don't have the dies yet so fussy cutting it was. I popped up all the elements on dimensionals too. Here's a more angled view of the card to hopefully help you see the dimension. The punny birthday sentiment is a custom one I stamped using the Labeler alphabet stamp set. I love that it helps you make your message say anything you'd like, & it's such a fun font & shape. I really hope this makes the dear friend receiving the card laugh & not think we're calling him a tool, something I'd never have thought of until the darling man suggested it. What do you think? On the inside, I used a leftover paper scrap & a few more watercoloured tools. I forgot to take a pic, but I'll add one later if I have a chance to do it before giving the card this weekend. If you'd like to know anything else about the card, just leave me a comment. Remember to pin my card for later inspiration too. All the supplies are listed below & available to buy, if you'd like to make your own version. Now head over to Just Add Ink to see all the fun ways the team used this great sketch & play along with the challenge too. I'll be back soon with more ideas for you to try. When I first looked at these five artistic, curvy lines, I immediately saw music ... 5 lines just waiting for music notes to dance upon them...
I love these stamp sets that have lots of little parts that go together to build a scene! I was immediately drawn to this sweet little terrarium set. This is just plain fun stamping! It’s called Live, Love, Grow and can be found on page 147 of the Annual Catalog.… Read More
For my first June class I wanted to introduce my lovelies to our 5 new colours from our 2016-18 in-colour collection and the fun, fun Swirly Bird stamp & die bundle. Coming up with some of their their best names yet, the in-colours are: Dapper Denim Peekaboo Peach Flirty Flamingo Emerald Envy Sweet Sugarplum Swirly Boat Our first card included the first two in-colours - dapper denim & peekaboo peach, - plus marina mist and a nautical theme. This card was totally inspired by this fun card by Pam Staples as I loved her combination of colours & images. I had a play of my own & came up with this version. Did you notice? - I linked the 'happy' word to the boat to create an impression that the word could be a fishing line coming from the boat (welcome to my head!). - The sea is made with the super useful swirly lines. I masked & sponged behind the piece with a sponge dauber & dapper denim ink. I didn't try to make it too even since the sea needs some texture. - I stamped off the large swirl stamp for the sun to make the peach lighter then stamped & cut out a full strength swirl for the centre. On the inside I added another swirly line piece & some sponging & a sentiment from the Tin of Cards set. The style works really well with the 'happy' word & also the look of Swirly Bird. I also added another boat on some other I made quite a few of these cards. On some other insides I added a boat instead of the sea, which looked fun too. Here's a final combined pic for you to pin for later. Swirly Blooms I used the other 3 in-colours - Flirty Flamingo, Emerald Envy & Sweet Sugarplum - in a cluster of blooms for this, our second card. I teamed Swirly with sentiments from the Perfectly Wrapped stamp set. I carried over the theme to the inside too. I really liked how the bold combination of flirty flamingo & emerald envy worked together. The third class card we made was a bit of a rebel bonus as we didn't use Swirly Bird, but we did use the lovely Sweet Sugarplum to make this masked & sponged butterfly card you can see here. You seem to like too as it's been pinned over 2,000 times so far. Thanks so much. So, that's it from me for now. Thanks for visiting & hope to see you again soon. Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Annual Catalog is absolutely AMAZING! Stampin’ Up!’ Demonstrators have enjoyed the opportunity to play with some of these new items for the past month, …
Ok, so I've been playing with the new "Swirly Bird" stamp set featured in the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog 2016-2017. I have to say that I am "in love" with this set. It really didn't look very interesting in the photo of the stamp set, but when I started...
I used the Stampin’ Up! Swirly Bird stamp set from the upcoming 2016-17 Annual Catalog to create my card for the Sunday Stamps color challenge this week.
There's nothing quite so gratifying as stamping an image and then cropping it out with a Framelit or punch. It gives our images such versatility and range. While I love bundles that give me a coordinating stamp set and Framelit, I'm a HUGE FAN of the new line of Layering

It's new challenge time at Just Add Ink & this week Nikki wants us to just add masking! Masking is not a technique I've really used much but I took on the challenge & used it to create the background on this card. I created the masked panel with shimmery white cardstock, a sponge dauber, rich razzleberry ink pad & a long piece of post-it tape. First I masked & sponged an angled panel for the sentiment, moved the post-it, sponged again & repeated this process to create the series of rays above & below the panel. The panel was a little bigger to start with but I cut it down so I could add the mat & show more of the base. I kept the rest of the card super simple - a razzleberry mat & butterfly backed in vellum. The shimmer card is really lovely irl too - maybe you'll see it a little if you click on the pic for a bigger image. What's that you say - don't recognise the colour of the card base? Well that's because it's a sneak peek of our gorgeous new in-colour sweet sugarplum, coming on June 1st with the new annual catalogue. My photos don't show the loveliness of this colour - which is a softer purply-pink cousin to rich razzleberry & blackberry bliss. You can see more of it below on the card inside. The sentiment is also a sneak peek from a new set called Mixed Borders. I think it coordinates well with the sentiment from Tin of Cards, which I've used on the inside. I included more masking inside & couldn't resist another butterfly. It's only attached at the body so it sort of pops out when the card is opened. Here's one more look - I think you can see the vellum better in this one. Thanks for visiting today. I hope my card inspires you to try some masking of your own. Remember to head over to the Just Add Ink blog to see all the different masked projects the team & try the challenge yourself. Before you go, remember to pin my card for later inspiration & leave a comment if you'd like as I love hearing from you. Happy Birthday! This special Blog post has been scheduled just for today.... You see, I sent one of these cute cards to a sweet friend for their BIRTHDAY!!!! AND today is that day!! This person is also into card creating, like myself. But boy is this person talented! Soooooo, I wanted something I wouldn't be ashamed to send.... Something original, funny, cute and artistic! BIG ask! lol I had been seeing so many gorgeous 'Jar of Love' cards...I have even made a couple myself (yet to be blogged) But they all seemed very similar....flowers in a jar, hearts in the jar, even a fish in a jar Another creator Stephanie Fischer had just made a card called 'Ahoy There' (no jars anywhere) BUT it gave me an idea :) I thought, 'Lets tip the jar over a little so it's almost spilling it's contents but not quite! And have fishies inside, Jumping OUT!' I think to myself....WOW!, yes that sounds original & allowed myself a little WHOOP of joy. AND got to creating... Here is it..... Happy Birthday ! #Jaroflove #Happybirthday #frommetoyou #sentwithlove #KOCreationscards #Jaroflove #Happybirthday #frommetoyou #sentwithlove #KOCreationscards The little one on the right is my first effort. Then came version 2 .... not alot different but made a little larger, just so I could add some little extra detail & not overwhelm the card. You are probably wondering what I did for the inside??? Can you see inside a little :) Ok I will stop teasing! hahahaa Here is an open pic of the card. I couldn't let the poor little fishies jump, not without having somewhere safe for them to land! LOL #Jaroflove #Happybirthday #frommetoyou #sentwithlove #KOCreationscards I do hope she liked it... As I scheduled this post on Sunday (19/6) and haven't as yet posted the card to her!!! Gosh I am excited! hehehe Anywho... How I made my 'Jar of Love' cards: I used Peek-a-boo Peach A4 card stock & in colour backgrounds DSP. Thick Whisper White was used as my card base and for the fronts. I used the 'Jar of Love' stamp set for the jars, stamped onto an acetate window sheet in Stazon Jet Black. The sentiment is a mixture of two from the same Jar of Love set and has been stapled together then attached using dimensionals. I cut both jar outlines using Everyday Jars Framelits. I coloured using my aqua painters and my Stampin' Write marker Island Indigo scribbled onto a stampin' block...I mixed the blue at times with Craft Stampin Ink whisper White For the inside I stamped the small jar in Stazon jet black as I didn't want it to bleed or run when painting my flowing water. I stamped the fish in Peek-a-boo Peach and colored very carefully around it. The flowers have been stamped in Peeka-boo-Peach while the leaves were stamped with Emerald Envy. I added the smaller Rhinestones to the smaller flowers on one card. I used the foam adhesive strips to frame up the fish jar (the one sent for the birthday) as it is a shaker card. I used it to raise the front on the smaller card. I used Stampin' Dimensionals under some flowers, to add more depth. #Jaroflove #Happybirthday #frommetoyou #sentwithlove #KOCreationscards If you would like to purchase any of these items please use the 'Carousel' below
Hi Stampers, Happy Thursday friends ! I have another sneak peek for you today . Here is a brand new stamp set from the new catalog starting June 1st It's called Painters Palette stamp set . I
I’m so thankful Stampin’ Up! listened to us Demonstrators and brought back the Woodland Textured Embossing Folder with this new annual catalog. Who would have ever thought you could mak…
Ahoi!
This card was made with my BRAND NEW stamp set, Marquee Messages!!! (perk of being a Demonstrator! we get some stamp sets before anyone else!) we received it in our Stampin' Up On Stage event bags! I needed to make a card that was kind of neutral, so it gave me an excellent reason to use this set! although, any reason is a good reason to stamp, right? I put a little extra effort into this one. I first stamped the main image, then colored certain parts, and then stamped the banner portion of the image on Island Indigo, embossed the "birthday" in black, then cut it out, and paper pieced it onto the main image. the little 'stars' or 'sparkles' were stamped, colored, cut out, and applied to the main image. I used circle punches and Real Red and Island Indigo for the background circles. The dotted background paper is a SaleaBration DSP. I used Crystal Effects on the 'lights' on the arrow portion, on the 'sparkels' and also on the red stripes on the side. I then added Wink of Stella to the "Its Your" part to give it a little extra something :o) Supplies: Ink: (used for coloring) Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Real Red Cardstock: Island Indigo, Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black Stamps: Marquee Messages Accessories: DSP, Crystal Effects, Circle Punches, Wink of Stella Glimmer Pen Wanna visit my facebook page? stop by and give it a 'Like'! https://www.facebook.com/stampineverything

Hej hallo allemaal!
