Today I have a special card to share for a friend's son who made his First Communion recently. As a family they are all such beautiful people and we have become good friends really easily. Young "Awesome Kid" was really excited about the occasion and it so it was a lovely opportunity to make something just for him :-) I found this card by Barbara Kapla on Pinterest and have CASED it with a few changes. I loved the way Barbara used the Gold Foil to create her chalice so I used the retired Vintage Vogue EF and the circle framelits for mine.I added a vellum leaf between the the Gold embossed wooden Celebrate and the gold foil to break it up a little and add some softness. For the host, I cut 3 layers of Vellum over a white circle and stamped the Sunburst from Kinda Eclectic underneath. This past weekend our God Daughter Aleina along with a few other little friends of ours, celebrated their First Holy Communion. Big deal for these young men and women! So of course I had to whip up some Communion cards. I think these cards could be used for various other religious events! The file for the cross, chalice, and dove come from SVGCuts Christian Elements SVG Collection. The base of the card and the layers were created using basic shapes in the Silhouette DE program. Hello and welcome to a wet and miserably cold day! I am so glad it is only one month until Spring will be here :-) Today's card has come about after a request from a friend for a card for a First Communicant so here is the finished card: The request was for "Clean but with Bling" so I turned to the wonderful Gold Glimmer Card stock for the Chalice and for the cup part used the 21/2" Circle punch and then used some Vellum and Grid paper to come up with a template to trace for the stand which is cut by hand. For the Host image I punched both Vellum and White card and joined them together with a touch of the 2 Way Glue pen - for whilst it is blue coloured when it is wet, it dries Clear - unlike most other adhesive. And it is then added to the card with a dimensional which is easily hidden by the white card stock :-) The Sun image from Kinda Eclectic came in very handy as a background here - I inked up the stamp with the Encore Gold ink and then used a punched piece of Post it Note to cover the middle of the stamp (with the same size circle punch as the Host image) before stamping. I do hope she likes it!
