These are vintage National Geographic Magazines, sold individually. This listing contains September 1981 through December 1984. (See my other listings for other issues issues from January 1970 through August 1981.) These are priced individually, and the prices vary due to condition. Most of them are in exceptional shape and have never been read. These have been stored in an attic for many years. They do not smell musty. As far as I can tell, all map inserts are present. National Geographic Index, 1947-1983, Copyright 1984, Hardbound, 608 Pages The inside of the paper book jacket reads: "This reference tool turns a collection of National Geographic into a comprehensive encyclopedia and also presents the exciting story of the National Geographic Society in words and hundred of pictures. Spanning issues from January 1947 through December 1983, the volume catalogs the more than 2,500 articles that have appeared during the period, making their diverse subject matter immediately available. The alphabetical listings at the heart of the Index include some 5,000 subject categories and more than 25,000 entries on nature, science, biography, history, and geography in its many forms."......"In all, this volume lists the contents of 445 issues containing 47.000 color pictures and some 14 million words. It supersedes a previous Index covering the years 1947-1976." The book is in good to excellent vintage condition. There is a piece of paper with a name on it glued to the inside front cover. The paper book jacket is showing some wear and has a rip in the back at the bottom. The cloth covered book cover is in very good condition. The book measures 10" x 7" x 1-1/2".
