We welcome our coveted new style Plus Fours - for the ladies! There are many photographs from the 1920s, 30s and 40s showing ladies wearing plus fours - for what we can only imagine were driving adventures, country walks or many other outdoor pursuits! There are also plenty of examples in catalogues of the time such as Sears not to mention patterns still remaining. These are based on the plus fours from our brother Cousin Jack and have been adapted for the feminine figure. These fit on the natural waist with a deep waist band and have belt loops for a decent belt if wearer wishes. We love the 4 button side fastening - making the plus fours really elegant. Single back pocket keeps the lines sleek and unbulky. Fully lined in viscose for warmth - these are full and darted into the bottom cuff which has a slide fastening for personal adjustment. These are meant to side approx 4 inches from the knee but person judgement required for most flattering fit. Those with very long legs may find them more of a plus 2! Key features:-- wide leg- waist fit- side button fastening- one back pocket- fully lined- cuff with sider Inside leg - measures approx 21"/53cm from gussetRise - approx 11"/28cm from natural waistLeg width (at widest part) - approx 11"/28cmCuff depth: 1.5"/4cm (check size advice for cuff width)Fabric: Wool/acrylic blend Colour: please note it is very difficult to represent colour accurately - this is a brown herringbone fabric*Please note, there are sometimes slight differences in the colour tone of this fabric between batches. The most beautiful dress I’ve seen was an authentic 1930s knit dress that unfortunately was the wrong size. I therefore had no choice but to make my own – and thus the Deco Dream Dress was born! It has feminine open slit shoulders that tie at the shoulder and elbow, and an iconic Art Deco colourblock pattern of 3 colours. The dress has endless colourcombinations to fit all tastes and seasons. The bodice and skirt are knit seperately, and are sewn together at the end, and the seam is then covered with a knit belt. Apart from yarn and circular needles you also need a belt buckle (have a look on etsy for authentic 1930s ones!) Needles: Circular needles 3,5mm Yarn: Pickles Soft Merino Size: (XS) S (M) L (XL) Bust: Note, this is a negative ease dress, meaning it will stretch to fit. The following measurements should be yours, not of the dress: (80cm) 90cm (100cm) 108cm (118cm) XS: (300g) 6 skeins colour 1, (150g) 3 skeins colour 2, (150g) 3 skeins colour 3. S: (350g) 7 skeins colour 1, (150g) 3 skeins colour 2, (150g) 3 skeins colour 3. M: (400g) 8 skeins colour 1, (150g) 3 skeins colour 2, (150g) 3 skeins colour 3. L: (400g) 8 skeins colour 1, (150g) 3 skeins colour 2, (150g) 3 skeins colour 3. XL: (450g) 9 skeins colour 1, (200g) 4 skeins colour 2, (150g) 3 skeins colour 3. Gauge: 21st(s) = 10cm NOTE ON AVAILABLE SIZES - if you want to knit this, or any of my patterns, in a larger size than I currently have published, please get in touch! The only reason it is not available in larger sizes is I couldn’t get testknitters for those sizes, and I don’t want anyone to pay for a pattern and knit a size thats not been tested. So if you would like to (test)knit this - or any of my patterns! - in a larger size than is currently available, drop me a message and I’ll send you the pattern for free!
