Did you just die a little? I did too when I first saw this! My client swears it is Claire McCardell and I find it hard to disagree. It does not have a McCardell tag present however so is priced accordingly, if that tag was there this would be several hundred dollars higher! It's an extraordinary piece and an absolute wonderful, unusual design that really adds to the conviction that this is indeed a McCardell piece. Wonderfully full puffed style bloomer bottoms are striped in cream and red on cotton. Each leg has an elastic - that elastic and the flat knife pleats at the waist help create that fantastic, full shape! The bodice is cut to fit and one whole side buttons up in a precise, tight row of buttons. One tie is short and hooks into place and the other extra extra long and ties. Absolute amazing piece of fashion and of history! Excellent, unworn condition. I have added some pictures so you can see some McCardell pieces that are similar in structure (all are in museum collections). Most telling is the dress - it's the same striping fabric and plain cream fabric on the top - I would imagine that this is from that same collection! Bust: approx 15ish” from side seam to side seam Will fit an A- B cup Waist: 12” flat across the back from side seam to side seam Hips: open Total length: approx 32” from top of shoulder strap to bottom hem The front of the play suit has an extra lining of cotton. The rest of the suit is unlined. The strap that crosses the front hooks into place and the other is longer and ties. It closes at the waist with a metal zipper and the a row of buttons up one side. There is a pocket on each side. The original Saks tag is still present as shown! It can be hand washed when cleaned again in the future. Modern Sizing equivalent: XS-SML (0-6)

Measurements are 38” bust 28” waist 42” hips 16” bodice length 25” sleeves 13” shoulders Lovely dress shows very well exhibiting minimal wear. All over slight fade only noticeable when compared with inner seams. Buttons are discolored from handling. Fabric of one button is coming undone but still mostly attached.

Stunning pair of authentic spiderweb novelty leather shoes dating back to the mid 1920's. Believe it or not, they even come with their original Harris Shoe Store box covered with a matching spiderweb print. The rising hemlines of this era focused attention on the exposed leg and foot. During this extravagant time, the demand for luxury shoes was met by an explosion of artistic expression through fashion. The detailed cutwork and chic t-strap construction with button buckle is extremely art-deco. I also adore the black and red color combination. A rare museum worthy find! Measurements US size: 6.5-7 Ball of foot: 3 inches Total Length: 10.25 inches Height of heel: 2 inches These 1920's Harris Shoes Store high-end designer shoes are in wonderful condition with no rips, stains or discoloration. From the bottoms, they look to have been worn very little. The box itself isn't in the best condition but a fantastic novelty piece to have with the shoes. A beautiful work of wearable art.

Dating from the first half of the 1940s, this unlined cotton dress features adorable details. The narrow red and white stripes are nicely lined up along most seams. There are red plastic buttons to the waist along with a side covered metal zipper. The double collar has white cotton piqué under the striped one, both trimmed with red rickrack. The short sleeves have box pleats at the shoulders. The skirt is flaring. From a survey of advertisements from the 1920s through 1950, Betty Baxley was known for nicely detailed house and day dresses that you could wash. CONDITION: Good. The dress has overall even fading and there are fairly subtle stains under the arms. There is no belt with the dress. SIZE: Medium by my estimate, about a US size 8. This pendant has been made with a green bakelite disc, vintage rhinestone chain and a vintage, tuberculosis pinback (1940s?). Bakelite or Caitlin buttons were popular in the 1920s to 1940s. The pendant is 2 inches tall (with bail) and 1 1/2 inches wide. You may choose to purchase the pendant only (select 0 inches under necklace length) or choose to add the 3-4mm stainless steel chain as shown in the picture (stainless steel chain does not tarnish like sterling). The chain will have a 2 inch extender with a black glass bead, which will dangle down the back. For example, a 16 inch chain will be adjustable from 16 to 18 inches; the pendant is 2 inches tall. Total length of necklace will be 18 to 20 inches. The total necklace length will be 2 inches longer than the length you select. The chain can be removed, allowing you to wear it with other pendants. A great gift for someone who loves bakelite and antique buttons! The pendant will arrive on a black flocked card, wrapped in tissue and in a gift bag, ready for gift giving. It will be mailed USPS, first class with tracking, in a small cardboard box.

🌸 RARE 1920s -1930's FITTED COAT ------------------------------------------------------ This is one of the most rare antique womens coats I have ever seen. I've had this in my personal collection for decades. It's made of pinstriped dark gray wool with a black silk velvet collar. Light gray pinstripes. All original buttons. Fitted through the waist & flares out, princess style. Shoulders have a lot of padding in them to keep that puffed up shape. Amazing & so rare!! A serious collectors item. Black satin liner is really nice too. The wonderful condition is one of the reasons this is so rare & special. Rarely are they ever this nice! No serious flaws at all, actually I can't think of any flaws aside from just slight age. In the 1970's top designers of the day like Ossie Clark & Biba used to copy these coats.
