Travel album with views of Egypt and other Mediterranean harbor cities. 1890s. 42 photochromes, 46 albumen prints and 6 collotypes. Various sizes between 27 x 21 cm, 23 x 29 cm and 28 x 22 cm. Photochromes with gilt-stamped title, number and logo P.Z. within the image. Mounted to album boards, most annotated in ink below the images on the mount, bound in maroon half leather album (edges rubbed, scuff marks) with gilt-embossed title Orient Reise des Dampfers Bohemia 1 on front cover. This album documents the trip of an Austrian travel group, shown on one of the images, to the Orient. A few images show the steamer Bohemia, including fine interior views. The trip began in Trieste via Ragusa, Corfu, Alexandria to Cairo. The most interesting images of the album are the unusually large and high-quality photochromes of Alexandria, Cairo and surroundings. – Albumen prints with minimal fading in edges, otherwise most in very good condition.
