When Jill at A Million Little Things asked if I would join them for the month of November and provide a sketch for their Sketch Challenge I was THRILLED!!! I have been shopping at A Million Little Things for years. She *always* has the latest-and-greatest up on her site the minute it is available. It's the perfect place to find what you need! On the A Million Little Things blog, Jill asked me a few spotlight questions. If you'd like to see that you can CLICK HERE. :) You can also see the sketch I provided for the month. The deadline is in TWO WEEKS, November 27th. So there is plenty of time to play for a chance at one of Jill's FABULOUS prizes. I created three layouts based on the sketch (rotating it in different directions). These pages feature a mix of manufacturers: Basic Grey (Nook & Pantry), Sassafras Lass, Prima, Hambly, October Afternoon Letter stickers, and a flower by Bella Blvd. TEA PARTY - All Maryn could talk about this year was having a "fancy" tea party with her friends. It was such a fun day and the girls were so cute and "proper." GOOFY - Jensyn loves to pull silly faces when I'm trying to take a picture of her. I don't think this stage is going to end anytime soon! LOL! YOU - One morning I walked into my bedroom to find Camryn snoozing on a pillow. It was so cute because before she fell asleep she made little pillow-bed for each of her stuffed animals. So sweet! :) Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend! Jana
Hi everyone!!! Hope you had a happy Halloween, for those who celebrated. Both of my boys wanted to be vampires for Halloween. I told them only if I could may them sparkle. :) They even both had Seattle shirts so they wore those too. I thought it was funny. I tried to convince Hayden to wear jeans and go shirtless, and we'd put some spray-on tan on him and call him Jacob, but he wouldn't go for it. :) And then Eryn was a cute little mouse. The costume was mine when I was a kid, for a church musical I was in. The ears have seen better days, the wire part wouldn't really work much anymore. But it didn't bother Eryn. And just for fun: It was a good night. Well until my car died and left us a bit stranded. But I am thankful we had people who could help in this situation. Anyways... Well it time for a new sketch challenge!! You ready? If you are new to my sketches, here's how it works: I essentially create three versions of one sketch each time. There will be one 12x12 scrapbook sketch, one double page sketch (12x24), and one card sketch (A4). This makes it easier for all types of crafters to participate. :) Of course, there will be prizes. So for today's sketches: Sketch 226a--12x12 layout Sketch 226b--2 page layout Sketch 226c--card (A4) And now for the prize up for grabs... That is THREE full collections: * The Silver Valley collection from SEI * The Summer City collection from The ScrapCake * The Sweet Childhood collection from The ScrapCake THE RULES: * Your project must be newly made for this challenge, and then linked below. * You can use the sketches for any type of project, not just scrapbook pages or cards. * Please post which sketch you used with your project. * Feel free to combine with other challenges. :) * You can enter as many times as you like. AND FOR BONUS ENTRIES: * Check out my sketchbook here. Pick a favorite sketch and use it for an additional project. You can do this as many times as you'd like. These must be newly made for this challenge too. DEADLINE IS THURSDAY, NOV 15TH. I hope you play along!! :) Have a fantastic day! I will be back tomorrow to announce the winner of the last sketch challenge. LINK UP HERE!!!

hello & welcome to the first shopping our stash challenge of 2012! i am especially excited because this one has a sort of "DIY" component to it, in that YOU get to choose your own theme! can't get much easier that that, eh? here is the exact wording, from the lovely miss carla: Challenge 33: Challenge Rewind or Meljens Image pick any SOS challenge from last year and do it again or feature an image by our fabulous sponsor Meljens i went with Challenge 25- Stickers or Rubons or Chipboard because not only do i have plenty of all of those, i didn't get to play along with this one in november since we were in hawaii! i was also pretty thrilled to be able to use the last sketchy thursday of the year as my "road map" since it is sooooooo very awesome: being that this was the very last card i made in 2011, i'm rather pleased that it looks forward and backward at the same time: (patterned paper: cosmo cricket, k&co + vintage ledger; "adventure" card & plane image: october afternoon vintage elements packet; stickers: k&co; chipboard cloud: sassafras; fabric tape: studio calico; rub-ons: 7 gypsies; adhesives: tombow monorunner, 3m foam tape) i'm proud to say that my card has all three of the challenge elements, and is also composed entirely of stash that's at least couple of years old! believe it or not, only the ledger paper is a genuine vintage item; the postage stamps & mini postcard are stickers, every bit of black printing except "adventure" is a rub-on, and the cloud is sass chipboard! by the way, that is a bona-fido, cookie-derived fortune which lovely husband jeff received in the (excellent) chinese takeaway we ordered last week! it says, "no one every grew old by living, only by losing interest in living" which, it has to be said, does violate one of my strongest precepts regarding fortune cookies: that they should either contain A PROPER FORTUNE... (something about which i wrote a post a very long time ago) ...or be called "aphorism cookies"; however, in this case i am willing to overlook the issue, since it turned out to be the perfect finishing touch for my brother-in-law's birthday card. do c'mon over to SOS this week and join us! not only can i promise you'll be inspired by the fabulous DT cards, it'll be a big help if--like me-- one of your resolutions this year is to USE UP some of your stash in cool & creative ways!!! :)

Hi and thanks for stopping by for MFT'S March Creative Challenge. The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, we are highlighting our favorite color combinations using MFT Ink, cardstock, buttons, ribbon, and felt. Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today. My first card uses the MFT Card Stock color combination of Pink Lemonade, Steel Grey, Sour Apple, and Whip Cream. I love MFT's buttons! Here I created a heart as the center piece of my card using Pink Lemonade Buttons. Down each side of the card I added borders with the Dainty Lace Border Die-namics. The sentiment and button stamp is from the LJD Homespun Hearts Stamp Set. The pattern on Sour Apple Cardstock is created with the grid paper stamp in the LLD Journal It - Graph Paper Notes Stamp Set in Sour Apple Ink. Here is what I used to create my button heart. I cut a heart from Pink Lemonade Cardstock with the Heart STAX Die-namics. Using the heart as my base I glued buttons onto the cardstock. Then I coated the buttons with Glossy Accents and lightly sprinkled glitter on the buttons. Behind the heart I used the Rounded Banner Die-namics. I cut one in Steel Grey and in Pink Lemonade Cardstock. I stamped the dotted pattern in Pink Lemonade Ink with a stamp from LJD Darling Dots Stamp Set. Then I cut one more banner in vellum. My card is for a bridal shower so on the inside I stamped a sentiment from LJD Gift Card Greetings II. If you visit my blog you know I am a big fan of red, so I had to share one of my favorite red combinations, Wild Cherry, Black Licorice, Sno Cone, and sometimes just a pop of Gumdrop Green Card Stock. I used one of my favorite à la modes stamp sets, Polished to Perfection, and added a sentiment from the set. The sentiment is stamped in Wild Cherry Ink and cut out with the File Tab Die-namics. The flower is created with the Royal Rose and Royal Leaves Die-namics. I used MFT felt in Wild Cherry for the flower. The bottom border is cut with the Scalloped Scallop Die-namics and I added MFT ribbon in Wild Cherry. She is colored with Copic Markers and Prism Colored Pencils. On the inside I added a gift card holder with the Horizontal Gift Card Die-namics, added a sentiment from the stamp set and a place to write a note. Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today. Share:facebook - twitter - pinterest MFT'S March Creative Challenge
