You can’t say Nuenen, without saying Vincent van Gogh. Van Gogh lived in this village in Brabant for two years and painted his first masterpiece here. Hoping for a glimpse of Vincent’s world, people from all over the globe come to Nuenen. In order to better serve this group, the Van Gogh Village Nuenen Foundation commissioned Tinker to design a new visitor centre.

For “The Velvet Underground – New York Extravaganza” at the Paris Philarmonie, Matali Crasset designed an exhibition route that is a mix of visual and sound synergies.

For hours at a time, Mark Rothko would sit in his wooden chair, smoking and meditatively staring at the canvas. Inviting the visitor to study the artist’s biography, the art centre exhibition embodies this atmosphere. Resting against the gallery walls are stylised canvases onto which Rothko’s works and photographs are projected.
