About This Resource: This is a Google Forms Quiz on plotting points on the coordinate plane and interpreting points already plotted on the coordinate plane. The instructions are easy to follow for you to make a copy of the quiz to your Google Drive. Then you can assign to your students using Google Classroom or some other method. Questions on this assessment were carefully created to give our students the best practice on the following standard. 5.G.1 - Use a pair of perpendicular number lines, called axes, to define a coordinate system, with the intersection of the lines (the origin) arranged to coincide with the 0 on each line and a given point in the plane located by using an ordered pair of numbers, called its coordinates. Understand that the first number indicates how far to travel from the origin in the direction of one axis, and the second number indicates how far to travel in the direction of the second axis, with the convention that the names of the two axes and the coordinates correspond (e.g., x-axis and x-coordinate, y-axis and y-coordinate). 5.G.2 - Represent real world and mathematical problems by graphing points in the first quadrant of the coordinate plane, and interpret coordinate values of points in the context of the situation. What's Included: TPT has partnered with Google to automatically make a copy of my Google Form quiz into your Google Drive. Get all my 5th grade quizzes! Google Forms Quizzes Entire Year 5th Grade Bundle Using this with distance learning: The main challenge that my colleagues and I were having with distance learning, was how do we assess students? You can use Google Forms quizzes to assess their learning. You can set the settings to not give students the answers and this will help limit any cheating from home. Don't mind me - I can't resist a little bit of alliteration. There are just too many P's in the title of this quilt to ignore. So may I present A Paper Pieced Paper Plane Quilt, affectionately known as the plane quilt. This quilt is all because of my friend Erin. It was her brilliant suggestion to make a paper plane block for Le Challenge. Well I can't let my friends down, so I came up with this block. Here's the EQ7 sketch with the finished block. Which was all fine and dandy. But a block wasn't enough. It needed to become a quilt. After many sketches, many ideas, and much time quizzing the wombats and my mum and sister on which design they liked best... I went with the above layout with 6 little paper planes happily flying about. A bit of ouline quilting around the planes... and I even attempted some FMQ to add some squiggly bits behind each plane. It makes for a pretty cool looking back I reckon! And I did a quick and easy binding - using the backing fabric pulled over to the front. Perfect! Better still - I can now tick off a finished project, and have only 3 more baby quilts to make. Woohoo! If you're keen to try your own paper pieced paper plane - it's a free pattern in my Craftsy shop. Yep I'm happy with this one. You might say I'm a pleased paper plane paper piecer perhaps. Linking up with Le Challenge this month for the theme of Wings.
