Oh, the places you'll go! by Dr Seuss BookThe story begins with the narrator, relating the decision of the unnamed protagonist (who represents the reader) to leave town. The protagonist travels through several geometrical and polychromatic landscapes and places, eventually encountering a place simply called "The Waiting Place", which is ominously addressed as being a place where everyone is always waiting for something to happen. As the protagonist continues to explore, spurred on by the thoughts of places he will visit and things he will discover, the book cheerfully concludes with an open end.Copy in excellent condition. Just when you thought a Dr. Seuss classic couldn’t get any better, it does! It doesn’t matter how old you are, the words from Dr. Seuss are loaded with wisdom that provoke deep thinking. But, when you add scripture, the stories of Dr. Seuss are taken to the next level and become so much better. Like a bazillion times better. All I did here was put scripture on each page that matched up with the text from Dr. Seuss. This is a great gift for someone who is starting a new chapter in their life (e.g. moving, graduating, new job, etc.), but also for young children to start learning scripture. I “made” this for my babies this year for Christmas and gave as gifts for a few of our favorite kiddos. I use the word “made” very loosely since I didn’t create any of these words; I just matched up words from some of the greats. This is so easy and filled with deeply encouraging intentions for someone else. It takes a book with many great life lessons and adds the message of the Greatest book of life lessons. So that you can have this too, I made a document that you can download with all of the verses for each page for FREE!!!! Seriously y’all can do this. All you need is a pen :-) I chose to add the wording to each page within the art. Check it out!!!! Click HERE to get your FREE copy of the scripture so that you can get started making one of these books!!!

It's never too early to think of a graduation gift. Yes, my boys are 3- and 5-years old, but, still, it's never too early. A fairly traditional graduation gift is a copy of Dr. Seuss' book Oh, the Places You'll Go! I came across a fantastic idea online to make this gift much more personal. Secretly, have all of your child's teachers write a message in the book and give it to your child on their graduation day. Fantastic, right?! This gift is easy to get going, inexpensive overall, but absolutely priceless for your child. I tried finding the original source for this idea and came across many news articles about a girl, Brenna Martin, who received this gift for gradation. Read the Daily Mail article HERE and watch the Today Show interview HERE. Here's what you do... Buy a hardcover copy of Oh, the Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss. Type out your own directions OR use the template on the blog Lisa's Workshop. My Process: I downloaded the blank tag template from the blog Lisa's Workshop. Copied the image into a Word document. Resized the image. Before adding the instructions, I printed three (3) blank templates, to help make the sleeve. Then, I pasted the instructions into the Word document on top of the template. I found a cute Dr. Seuss font called Green Eggs and Spam at 1001fonts.com. When finished editing, I printed the instructions, cut the pages down to size, and taped all four pages together to form a sleeve. My New Process (updated 06/08/20): Click HERE to make a copy of a Google Template. Edit the text and print. Attach the instructions to the book. Place book in a manilla folder. At the end of each school year, give the book to your child's teacher(s). Set an annual reminder in your phone (or on your calendar), if you are afraid you'll forget. Make sure you give the teacher(s) at least a couple weeks (the end of the school year is a busy time for teachers). Hide the book until the next year. Repeat until your child graduates from high school. Isn't this a fun idea? My son had two years of preschool, so I got to start his book very early in his education. But you can start this gift at any time (even if your kids have already been in school a few years) or just have your child's high school teachers and coaches sign. The options are endless. Before adding the instructions, I printed three (3) blank templates to make a book sleeve. My son's graduation gift in the making. This is the template and text from the blog Lisa's Workshop. My son is young enough to mule his book to school, but I'm not sure how much longer I can get away with that. I started this project last year, with my son's preschool teacher. So, what do you think? Are you going to give this one a go? Today is your day, you know. I'd love to hear about what you come up with.

Dr. Seuss Book Graduation Gift Tradition! Have your kid's teachers sign your copy of this book every year. Give it to them as a Graduation Gift!
Ok, i'll admit it... Hi, my name is Stephanie and i'm addicted to Pinterest. Last summer i just happened to be on pinterest ( yes, again) and i saw a pin of THE BEST graduation gift... have each of your children's teachers sign a copy "Oh , the places you'll go", and present it to them at graduation. I got on Amazon and ordered the book that day. Since my daughter is currently wrapping up her Kindergarten year, i had to make sure that i got the book to her teacher ( i missed preschool! oops!) ASAP. Steps to the best graduation present: Step 1: buy this book. :) Step 2: add in a poem/note to her teachers. Step 3: Have their teacher(s) sign it. Step 4: repeat until Senior year Step 5: wrap and present to the new graduate! For the note card: Last night, I was looking up and down the web for a nice note/poem to place in the book with instructions for the teachers on what to do as well as why we wanted to do this... and i came up empty handed. Soooo... i made one up and thought i would share it! I found a "Dr. Seuss-ish" image on the internet, copied the wording onto the graphic, and printed it on a 4x6" card. I then attached the card on the first page of the book with acid free adhesive, so the teacher of each year/semester/class would have the same note. I plan on emailing each of her teachers ahead of time, notifying them "the book is coming" too-- but thought this would be a nice read for the teachers, as well as for Kaitlyn when get finally gets the book in 12 years! ;) Here is the note i created, feel free to use it and modify as you see fit (i.e. son/daughter, he/she ;) ) Dear Teacher, As parents, we appreciate the countless hours you have poured into our daughter, (child's name). The knowledge, guidance, and leadership you have demonstrated will always remain in her heart. You have played such an important role in her life and have helped her grow in so many ways, and for that, we cannot thank you enough. As a favor to us, we would like to ask you to please take a moment to write a small note to ___(child's name)___ anywhere inside this book. In honor of you, we will present this book to her as a surprise at her high school graduation. We cannot think of a better way to celebrate this achievement than with the words of those who directly impacted her education. Please notify us when you are finished so arrangements can be made to pick up the signed book. Our sincerest gratitude, ___________(mom/dad names)_____ Parents of ___(child)___, Class of _____ **Just make sure you put your child's full name on there somewhere in case there is more than one "Jimmy" or "Susie" in their class ;) I'm sure i'll blink and my daughter's graduation day will be here before i know it-- but for now?? i am going to enjoy this adventure known as life and i'm excited to see the places she'll go.... For those who liked the graphic, i attached it below. It was found during a google search. Please note this is NOT for sale nor shall it be used as part of a sold item in any way.
